Hi
When the phone is in standby it flashes the left LED to show connection with the network. The manual states:
"Shows Green and Amber lights for HSDPA/UMTS/EDGE/GSM/GPRS standby, message, and network status as well as for notification and battery charging status. Shows a flashing red light when the battery level reaches 5% or lower."
But doesn't state what colour is shown for what and I've only seen a flashing green LED. The description is a joke in the manual as it doesn't really tell you anything, and I have searched the PDF version for LED and found no other information dry.gif
I want to be able to see I have had a text message/voice message left without having to turn the display on, how do we do this?
Regards
Phil
Well based on the Wizard the led on the right that normally flashes green will flash orange if you have a txt or missed phone call.
Hi
If it does it doesn't look that much different in colour to be really obvious, not to my eyes anyway.
Can we change the colours, perhaps through a registry setting?
Regards
Phil
Hi
I've resolved this to my liking with a small application I've written, it's free for anyone else who wants some control of the way the notifications are flashed on the Kaiser.

Great little app Phil. I use my phone as a pager so its nice not to have to turn it on to see if you missed a message.
It looks awesome! Installing it now. Thx!

hi,
Great tool!, but ehh it doesnt work on my Dutch version TyTn2.
AMBER colour doesnt seem to work.
So does this mean your tool is made for an English version?
Amber doesn't seem to work for me either and I'm on the English version.

I tried the app on my AT&T Tilt and while the LEDs perorm according to the app, I found that the app caused my speakerphone to engage on every call I placed. I deleted the app and no more speakerphone problem.
strange...on my tilt it didn't work. I could change the power color but couldn't get the right side light (bluetooth side) to do anything
Is anyone interested in this program/functionality enough to continue developing it? I'd really like to see the ability to set missed SMS to the red LED like missed calls. I'd also like to see the solid LED function working again during charging. I'm not sure if the original author is still developing this program but it has a lot of potential. Thanks.

Hi,
I am very interested in this functionality. I am actually slightley colorblind and it is impossible for me to see the difference between the red, amber and green LED, because it is so small and just flashing up for a very short time.
I wish I could use the blue LED for missed incoming calls or a faster blinking frequency would be great.
Regards,
JTGBDR
yes indeed
I want to change the blinking speed of the amber light when an incoming sms is received or missed call..
I had this on my mio a701, so handy
Now its almost 3 sec to see if you have an missed sms , its too long...
Issnt there a simple reg hack to increase the interval?

I Already asked in this board for an redevelopment of this app... the idea is genious, but the original developer, doens't seem to continue his work....
So it would be really nice, if someone could code it properly.. the current app has some matrue issues and is in my opinion not really usable.

The original developer is continuing to work on this app, infact he is nearing completion of the next version. See post 40

Oh I'm sorry, there was an other thread I looked at, which was no replay since weeks... but the intresting thin is if he can fix the thing with the correct leds during charge.
I read about the issue of Stamina Mode blocking the usage of the LED. I like the LED, it's the best thing for notifications. But without Stamina Mode, I'm getting poor battery life. Is there any way to bypass this? perhaps a third party application or mod? I'm rooted and on an unlocked bootloader so I'd have no problem messing with it to get this working.
Thanks!

Light Flow with root and alternative mode works with Stamina Mode, but you only get 3 LED colors unfortunately
Thanks! But it didn't work, what did you mean by alternative mode?

It's in the settings of the app. 2nd or Third option from the top.
Tried it but it's very crippled. Only 3 LEDs and you can't control the blink speed. And the LED itself is very dim. Extremely hard to see it and I tried all 3 different colours.

Yeah, just figured it out, and it doesn't blink at all for me it just stays continuously on and it's very dim like you said. Well, this sucks..... I don't understand the idea behind disabling the LED in stamina mode. It's just a tiny LED, how much power can it consume?!?

Ambroos was the source that said that Sony will fix it.
The low battery light still works, so it will change with the next proper update most likely
Can someone post a video of the notification led blinking? Or at least tell me if it is a typical worthless pinhead HTC led? The leds on HTC phones usually suck

It is indeed a tiny full-color LED; it's also the same LED that the phone uses to let you know when it's charging, low-battery, or completely charged. It defaults to being turned off for Android notifications, but it's simple to turn it on.

From the App Store: HTC phones usually require "root." But I'll give it a shot and report back.

LiteFlow Lite doesn't work. I made sure all of the settings were correctly checked and I've used the app before. I'm thinking that we'll either need root or CM/AOSP/AOKP before we can modify it. On a side note, it really is a nice LED. Just a little pin-sized light. Blinking green for a notification in the upper right hand corner. It stays red while charging and does not blink, even if you have a notification waiting to be seen.

I love notification lights. The problem when you can't use light flow is that most stock phones do not include a quiet hours option to turn automatically turn the led off at night.

Could someone that is rooted test to see if light flow works when "root mode" is enabled in light flow? Would love to have the notification light blink longer than the default 5 minutes that HTC sets. Would also love quiet hours.

Just tested it with root (I had also tested it before rooting). It was making my led do all kinds of crazy crap. It was blinking erratically, rather than the calm, normal pulse PLUS it would not accept any of the color changes for the other types of notifications. It would not do the tests either. I changed all of the settings around and nothing seemed to matter. So I would call this a big, fat FAIL. Is there another app out there that is known to play nicely with HTC phones?

that stinks. I'm not aware of any others. I had an HTC one s for awhile and never could get its led to pay nice with light flow. Oh well.

I tried a few different apps that all failed in the same way. No color changes and totally erratic blinking. I am rooted and it didn't help one bit.
I got Lightflow working but this phone only allows Green, Orange and Deep Orange as choices so you have to change the notifications you want to use to use those colors or it doesn't do anything. It is working fine now but it is missing the blinking options that my Nexus 4 had which is a bummer. I have it set so only texts, Facebook messages, and google talk chats use the lights.

How did you get it to work? Root phone and then enable direct mode and root mode within the light flow app, or is there more to it than that?

I enabled root and direct modes within the app and enabled the LED in Screen settings in the Settings app and then I manually went into the notifications I wanted to enable and chose the color I wanted to use again. It was working fine but with such limited color options it seemed kind of pointless to me especially since I use a Sony Smartwatch so I'm getting all of the notifications there already.
I think I stumbled across the solution to this today:
Settings > Display > LED Active
Seems to work!
Yes it works. I take green Led in whatsapp and it works...

so... I've had my N6 for about month and a half and last week decided to root, weird thing was, I DID NOT KNOW that there was a LED light on it ... while using stock, the LED light did not come on at all and only when i installed CM12 that i seen the light.
I want to go back to stock but i want the LED light for notifications. has anybody encountered this problem? how do i fix it ?
Stock does not support LED.
For me this is not an issue, why would I want an LED always flashing to show me I have notifications.
Went through the trouble of installing CM12 and you want stock?
Unless something was missing in CM12 like flaky bluetooth I would stick with custom ROMs

You don't want the light but i do ... preferences ...
installing wasn't trouble at all, my problem is that i feel like cm12 needs to get better and less buggy, the rom just started coming out so I wanna wait until most bugs are fixed, I was enjoying stock for a while, just wanted to test out cm12 to see where it was and for the way I like it, it's not ready.

Yes it does require root and you need the paid version of the app. I cannot believe the N6 didn't come stock with led notifications and double tap to wake. Beside the washed out/ way over saturated screen, I think I might return mine to ATT before my 2 weeks are over
Can't complain... Its huge but I kinda like it
Yes I was shocked at the light too.
Definitely should be enabled out of the gate.
Unlike the TINY one behind the HTC speaker grille with very limited viewing angle this one is bright and actually better IMO than Samsung's.

One thing to note is that for now with Light Flow the only colors for the LED are red green or blue. Or if you manually change the color with the built in light flow mixer you can make strange combinations with the top half of the LED being one color and the bottom half another.
Dears,
I'm a new owner of a brand new x2 pro, everything's fine so far, but there's just a thing that hassles me and it's the missing notification LED.
I'd like to use one of these workaround apps designed for super Amoled screen but so far, can't find any properly working on my x2 pro.
Tried with AOE (always on edge) but it seems to work randomically... All I need is an app which, in case of screen turned off and with an incoming notification (e.g., a WhatsApp message), automatically switches on a notification effect on screen which should continue blinking until I read the notification itself.
Basically, something that recalls the good old rgb led on phones of some years ago... Is there anything which you tested on Realme phones and it's 100% working?
Thanks a lot

Yeah, notifyBuddy did the job
I'd love to have a bit more chance on the notification type (only pulsing spot is available here) but hey, it's from a developer from XDA devs
Edit : nevermind, it doesn't work in a stable way. Most of the times notifications are ignored.

NotifyBuddy works perfectly fine on mine!
You will have to exclude it from power saving.
On my X2Pro, notifyBuddy works 1 time out of 4 notification, approximately. I guess it's due to the lockscreen as I disabled any battery optimization for the app.
On the other side, AoE works even worse... Still waiting for a solution for notifications.
