Hi guys.
Yesterday i changed my stock rom with MoDaCo FR13 Fear Edition 6.1 27/4-11. Before doing that i root , backup and wipe the system in recovery mode. After istallation of the modaco rom i restored in recovery mode but when i reboot i got a lot of message by applications that ends their process. This happen even with another rom that i tried.
So, now i would like to restart from the beginning. How can i do that? I would like to have a clean system withouth unnecessary files and directory that now i have so i will be able to install other rom without any problems.

U can flash back the original firmware that comes with your phone.
Or
Recovery and wipe your phone and flash whatever to your desire.

Thanks. So I'm doing well to download this rom/firmware? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=12890619#post12890619

Yes both root and recovery will be lost but it is easy to get root back.
I tried to install the official firmware from recovery but the result after few seconds is always: istallation aborted. WHY???? i did a wipe before!
Do you think that this guide is appropriate for my situation? http://android.modaco.com/content/l...rom-release-v10b-dated-1300166062-15-03-2011/
Will this rom restore my phone to stock situation as when i bought it?
It is more possibly your installed drivers than the firmware that causes abortion. Also it might be your PC's os. Are u on 64 bit environment?

I read about problems in win7 x64 in one of the threads. Can't remember where. I'm using win7 32 bit.
Either u find that post or find a way to do it on 32 bit os. Perhaps other users may have a solution for u. I have no other possible solution.
You do not have to do with the recovery, use this:

hi,
lately i have been experimenting with my velocity, been trying to find some good roms, no such luck accept for a couple,
the on that is 98% working is the Elagancia rom,
the 2% not working is the wifi and sometimes bluetooth, as we all know this problem is because there is no MAC address assigned, apparently this is because the kernel version has been flashed to many times,
anyway other roms like dark raider, holics and some others have error boxes pop up on the screen nearly every second, and yep, this is very annoying,
So, can anyone help me out with this wifi problem?
Cheers,
Luke.

Normally, when wifi/bluetooth, etc. Don't work, it is cause you don't flash boot.img correctly.
Command: fastboot flash boot boot.img
If your boot.img is named differently then adjust the last part of the command

Yep, i know...
With each new rom I fastboot flash the proper boot. img inside the zip rom file but with no success .. anyway this method is used if you are S-ON, now I'm S-OFF.
Im installing CM11 again now, that it seems like it has own kernel..
I would like to know where are the configuration files in the linux/kernel so i can find where/what driver is looking for.. im googling but couldn't find anything yet.

It depends on the recovery, but it works in TWRP.
It is the ROM that is rooted, so if you sideload a non-rooted ROM and flash it, you will lose root. It seems you don't have a working ROM, so you don't "have" root.

Let me correct you. You had a custom ROM that was rooted.
My suggestion is to fix the problem.
I can't help you because:
1) I don't know what recovery you have
2) I don't know what tutorial you followed
3) I don't know in which way it is "not working"
I suggest you flash TWRP 2.6.3.4 and use adb sideload.

Make sure you have the latest android sdk installed on your computer and latest htc drivers.

bugger!!! i really wanna get my phone set up too, any ideas of how long they will be down?
My bootloader is locked and I was trying to bump up to 4.4.4
Problem is I have to flash my kernel manually via fastboot and my computer isn't recognizing my X in fb mode. I've done manual flashes on Windows 8 before but its been a while since flashing and my laptop is up to 8.1 now.
So my questions: Do the fastboot drivers for the X not work properly on 8.1 and if there are new ones where can I get them?
I've already been to the moto site to download the Motorola Device Manager but it still doesn't fix my problem. Without the kernel the phone boots but its all kinds of buggy. Luckily I was able to Nand back to 4.4.2 and everything is stable. If you can help me that would be greatly appreciated... And if not then I'll just have to wait on Sunshine.

I'm pretty sure you can't flash a stock kernel onto a locked bootloader device without using fastboot to do it. I haven't tried it but I'm also not trying to risk it. I was just wondering if the fastboot drivers were compatible with Windows 8.1 is all.

Alright that one worked! Thanks for the help man. Couldn't have done it without you. I swear sometimes I get google-illiterate and start typing in all the wrong key phrases.
Glad you got it working!
First of all i want to make clear that, i am new to this community, so for any inconvenience please forgive me.
I was curious about what will be the safest way to root my Android 11 devices running on MIUI Global 12.5.2 .
i watched a lot of YouTube videos but didn't come up with an answer i am looking for, i got confused a lot some people suggest doing without pc and some with some apps.
I would be glad if someone can explain to me, the best way to root Android device and do's and dont's before and after rooting the device. And how can i prevent my device from:
Getting hard/soft Brick.
Losing Data.
Data encryption.
And the things i should get familiar with before rooting.
Thanks to everyone in advance

Tap older version and download the recovery. Use https://github.com/ssut/payload-dumper-go to extract boot.img from payload.bin. Look how here https://www.xda-developers.com/how-to-install-magisk/

I tapped on the older version, however mine version, i.e (12.5.2.0 RJCINXM ), is not listed.
I checked a couple of websites too, on them only this version is not listed others are like 12.5.3.0 etc

Let me get it straight, you mean the ROM version doesn't matter, however the ROM should be same as that of the device model.
