Hi all,
Need advice as my Moto X seems like sometimes it does not register the first touch to unlock from Active Display, i need to touch it again to unlock it.
Is anyone else encountering this issue?
Thank you in advance.

I have seen this issue happen to some people using xposed with lots of modifications, or a custom kernel. If you are 100% stock, I would suggest clearing cache and possibly a factory reset to see if it resolves it.
Are you using xposed or any other modifications?

Hi,
Thanks for the fast reply.
Totally stock and unrooted. I did a factory reset once, do you mean clearing cache of the Active display app?
Not sure if it's just me, i can't replicate the issue, it just occurs randomly e.g. taking phone out from pocket or pouch, when trying to unlock first time the touch seems not register or the active display lock screen need some time to react?
I am also having this problem after updating to 4.4. I first noticed this when I finished a call and after removing the phone from my ear, the display does not come back on.

After the recent update my touch screen has become slow. Sometimes I have to touch it twice in order for it realize the word or app.
Is this a bug with the new update? Is anyone having this problem?
Thanks!

My wife's phone is exactly the same, very slow to respond and even turn on? Does anyone have any ideas how to resolve (apart from wiping - she would go mad!)
Thanks in advance

Hey!
I'm really fed up with this phone. I'm personally never buying Sony phones ever again.
However I think you have to wipe the phone through Sony PC software. After that it works just fine.
Do you by chance get fluctuating reception?
Hello and Happy Turkeyday to all. I have an issue with my wife's note. When she gets any notifications they turn the screen on and it doesn't turn off. I feel pretty knowledgeable about the android O.S. in a whole, I have my S5 rooted and running AICP. I just can't figure out why the notifications cause the screen to stay on. Has anyone else had this problem maybe you could help shed some light on my issue. Thanks in advance.
Is the phone rooted?

No she won't let me root her phone.
Same problem
I have the exact same problem on my Note 4 (N910F).
My phone is rooted and I have had the problem from the start.
I am also running a custom kernel now but the problem persists.
Any ideas on why this is happening anyone? I've got it to not turn the screen on for a notification but now it won't turn off when plugged in.
Turn off the lock screen notifications, or everything you can on the lock screen settings, most likely something is causing the screen to wake lock. My bet is the weather widget.

I just searched for the same problem on the Galaxy s5 and someone said to download wakelock-detector to see if it's an app.
Will keep you updated if it helps.

So a little update, so far, my problem seems to be fixed.
After the app told me that Dsploit was causing a lot of screen-on time, I disabled the app.
Haven't had it happen so far today so I hope this helps you too.

Can anyone else have other fix? I have new note 4 with rom stock and very few apps (5-8 apps)
the "Wakelock Detector-Save Battery" app requird root this not my phone so I can't root for now.
If you have very few apps installed, uninstall those apps one by one to see which one is potentially keeping the screen on. Otherwise, do a factory reset, clear cache; also ensure power button is sticky and is fully functional.

I gave you Another solution.
Does anyone know how to fix an issue where the screen never locks? It just shows the last app when the phone wakes up about half the time.
I have a Galaxy S5 unrooted and stock.
Haven't run into that but I'm having issues with random sleep of death and random reboots. Stock unrooted here as well. I've already done a cache clear and that seemed to work for about 24 hours but I just had another SOD.

That doesn't fix the problem. I adjusted that setting as soon as I did the upgrade. It's a lollipop issue.

Was this listed under 'Lock screen'? I checked where the amazingasian stated, and couldn't find the option. That being said, it doesn't seem to be consistent enough to be a setting.

Yes it's under lockscreen. To be able to see the setting, 1st u must select a lock screen type, not the regular swype screen. Then go back to the lock screen setting and the option will be available. But lime I said, doing that doesn't fix this issue. Yesterday I turned my screen on and off 3 times just to get it to lock.

Have you tried a lock screen from Play Store? That might solve the problem. I'm using Hi Locker currently, with no problems at all.

I haven't tried it, mostly because I actually like the look of the lock screen and its integration with the rest of the OS. I think it is more of a problem with the OS not recognizing that the screen has been turned off. Therefore, I think it is a problem that would affect all lock screens.
Could it be an issue with Smart Lock? I do have a smart device set up (the Sync system in my car), but the locking isn't being consistent in my car.
I am having an issue where the Samsung Keyboard crashes when used with some apps. Notably Facebook messenger. Anyone else notice this? Also, on occasion when opening the stock SMS app after unlocking the device, it automatically opens the bottom most conversation. I've cleared both data and caches for the apps. I am fresh install rooted lollipop the day it came out.

Will do, I have been so busy lately, I did not even notice. Thank you.
my lollipop problems
Stock s5 with lollipop AT&T. Since update and even after cache clearing, I am suffering from extremely slow charging, too fast battery drain. Occasional sluggishness, and occasionally notifications don't work until phone unlocked.
I used muniz_ri's flash fire method keeping root which installs fresh and lollipop works flawlessly with no bugs, nothing broken. After install, google reinstalls your apps which many rediscover their stored settings on the internal sd. Most lollipop issues seem to be related to the stock update method or manual tibu restore... muniz fresh install lollipop is solid.

This makes me wonder then, because I was a fresh install with the original method Muniz had up. I only TiBu restored a few apps (none affected by my keyboard issue) and let everything else stay fresh. I am going to try the new method for the reasons Muniz pointed out to my prior post that listed the issues I had.

So I just to America from India, and the moment I landed in the states, my Moto E started acting weird. The touch works automatically, it keeps pressing randomly on the lower part of the screen. I thought my screen protector was messing up so I removed it. Then I thought there's some software issue so I reset the phone (twice) still nothing.
I dont know what happened to my phone I think the screen got pressing too much in my pocket while I was in the flight for 30 hours. and they won't give me the warranty as it's from India.
Can anyone help?

I'm also experiencing the same issue...My Motoe4 plus touch started acting weird especially in the lower part of the screen
A Google search shows that most often the "Ghost touch" is a hardware issue. It seems to happen on a fair number of Moto devices.
If you can't return your phone (best option) then try cleaning the screen and clean your hands before using the phone. It can be the result of oil on the screen.
You can feel free to try clearing caches and data, but don't count on that solving the problem. There are a lot of discussions about this, but the general consensus is hardware, not software.
Try an "External reset"

Hi, I have probably the same problem here .. Moto E4 Plus (XT1771). I was trying to do:
- different fw, without any result
- lower backlight, maybe better, but still there
- complete FR from Settings
- complete FR from 'bootloader menu' - off > power+vol- > power+vol+, here in menu clear cache + clear all data
- external reset, tutorial in upper post
And the result is the same. Sometimes it's better, sometimes it's impossible to write anything on keyboard, for example. The only solution is switch off display and turn it on again and wait, if it's better (Developer menu > show touches). If not, switch off and try again ..
I suppose that it's HW problem, do you thing that if I'll replace complete LCD+digitizer+frame, that it will solve this problem?
Link for this spare part (example): https://www.aliexpress.com/item/33015586810.html
Link to video, that I made to show the problem: https://youtu.be/JoSfMRvFVLI
Thanks for any hint! :]
Anyone got resolution, what you guys did finally. Please respond as I'm getting same problem now
Sometimes, when I wake up the phone, some ghost touches occur and those touches slide down from the right corner and back into the corner. this event repeats continuously and quickly. I turn the screen off and on again, everything is fine.
Sometimes a ghost touch occurs in the right corner, so I can't control the phone. I turn the screen off and on again, everything is fine.
This problem started after upgrading miui 12 globe rom from miui 11 globe rom using TWRP. Actualy i dont know the exact time.
I tried evolution rom but the result is the same. I tried the build.prop codes (touchcalibration, touchsize, touchpressure ...) but no progress.
If this is a hardware problem, why is it temporarily resolved when we turn the screen off and on. hardware problem should always be ghost touches.
Any solution?
Thanks in advance.
I have the exact same issue using Masik 14.0 but honestly it's not that annoying so far.
I've been having the same issue, I believe.
At first I just rebooted the phone and everything was good. But now it's happening more often and I simply lock and unlock the device and most of the times the problem stops.
I have the "MIUI Global 11.0.3.1" and haven't flashed anything so far, so I guess that's not why it is happening to you.
I've read somewhere on the internet that it would help to disable "MIUI Optimization" on the Developer settings. I've disable it today, but the issue already happened afterwards, so it doesn't look like a solution.
If anyone has further information on how to solve this, I'd like to hear it. It's not a big problem, but starts to be annoying, especially when you're writing or trying to do some important task.
I tried everything and decided that is the hardware problem. I relocked bootloder and installed stock rom. And sent it to service to change the panel. Now i am waiting…
