WiFi problem - Xperia Z1 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey guys
When I'm trying to connect on a WiFi network my phone won't connect (except my home WiFi) and it just says that the network is saved. Any solutions? Thanks in advance

2 possibilities - router channels/freq is not supported by your phone or router has Mac filtering to allow only certain Mac addresses

Would anyone know the casue??? please help???
I have got the same problem. I do have an wifi connection and I can browse my shared folders, but i cant connect to IE opera msn or whatever. does somebody know how to resolve this
Guys... there's lots more information needed....
Is there security set up on the router? (If so, disable it until the problem's solved)
Can you see the router?
Is your router set for DHCP? If so, did you check to see if you're getting address info to the PPC?
My money is on no DNS setting on the PPC or security settings.
re
i had the same problem i changed the wireless power mode from best battery to best performance and it worked
I noticed it happens with pie not opera so in my case i blame it on the hidden proxy. media net and activesync passthru work just not pie
I have had a similar problem with my BT Home hub. It was connecting OK but would not transfer data. I changed the channel on the hub and that seemed to solve things.
security is all off . firewall off. my router or adapter is set to DHCP. i can see my router on my phone. its connected to my router and the signal is very good. i have tried to change the channel still no internet.

PPPoE on Android?

Hi,
I have an interesting problem. I am in Dubai, where the ISP (Etisalat) provides Internet via Fiber-optic cables to my residence. They have this modem which I connect my wi-fi router to.
After connecting to my wi-fi router the usual way, I have to dial-in via a Broadband PPPoE connection, where I provide the ISP username and password. I have to do this every time I connect to the Internet.
Unfortunately, this means I cannot connect my Nexus One to the Internet This is because I am not aware of any app/functionality that enables PPPoE dialing on Android.
I had installed Connectify for Windows 7 that enabled me to share my authenticated Internet connection with other devices (and hence my N1). However, after FR83, this seems to have stopped working as well, for some reason. It is extremely difficult to connect to the shared Wifi created by Connectify, and even after connecting, I cannot browse the Internet.
I have already tried setting a static IP address for the N1, but this did not resolve the issue.
Can anybody offer guidance, ideas? Any help would be much appreciated!
Cheers,
PI
Get a router, set the router to connect through PPPoE and every device that connects to the wireless router will work.
Thanks, but I wouldn't want to spend more money...

Thanks, but I wouldn't want to spend more money on another router. I have a Wi-fi router already, but I don't know if it has the ability to connect via PPPoE. It's a 3COM 3CRWDR200A-75.
Will try and research if I can enable PPPoE via this somehow.
Cheers,
PI

There you go.
Set your current router to connect through pppoe and you are ready.
Good luck.

More accurately, it is a router that happens to have a wireless interface. Most home wireless routers usually have the functionality of a switch as well (that is, providing multiple connections to the same local network), but they usually include routing capability to move traffic from your local area network to the Internet.
Hi guys. I have not access to market because of my region. Can any body get me the WIFI PPPoE ?
wifi pppoe doesnt work for me

[Q] IP setting in HD7 (WIFI)

hi everyone,i bought HD7 last night and i have a problem with wifi.i want to connect my HD7 to my wireless routher. i must to set my HD7 IP.i can see HD7 IP but i cant change it.how can i do it? thanks
There is currently no way to set a Static IP address in Windows Phone 7, you'll have to wait for an update to come out that allows this.

You shouldn't need to manually configure your IP for the phone, the router will most likely assign your phone one if your DHCP is enabled (default on most routers). If you are wanting to connect it to your current home network and you have a wireless router, first you will need to go into the router configuration and set it to broadcast your SSID (if not already enabled). At this time the HD7 cannot connect to hidden networks (I don't see a point in hiding your SSID anyway, use better encryption, and a strong password with numbers, letters[upper and lower case], and symbols[if supported]). You can then use you HD7 to connect to your home network, once connected to your network go back into the router and look at your network. It should list all the devices currently connected to the network along with their currently assigned IP addresses. If you really need to, now that you know what IP address your router has assigned to your phone you can set your router to give your phone a static IP but really as long as you leave the router broadcasting the SSID your phone should have no problem connecting to the WiFi it should save the key and SSID, and it will get a new IP at regular intervals.

Cannot connect to wifi router

Authentication type is WPEA2
Thanks in advance

Wifi problem...
Hi,
What is your network SSID name?
I had the wifi problem with my HD7 while my network SSID name had mixed capital and lowercase characters like "GedikNet"
Try to change your network SSID name to all capital or all lowercase characters. (like "gediknet").
Good luck.
Bye.
ssid is SHARAD. still unable to connect
can't have hidden ssid
Hi, if your network is hidden, unhide it. The darn thing cannot connect to a hidden network. I know it is extreamly annoying but that is what Bill-ware gave us.
Hopefully, they will fix it in the update.
Initial connection to my home Wifi was unsuccessful. I had to restart the router and all went fine. Setup: WPA2/AES, b/g/n mixed and SSID is not hidden. It is a Linksys/Cisco device. Check your MAC filter if it blocks your device. DHCP server has to be turned on.
Regards,
Cina.
i did not have an issue with the wifi router... all i had to do is get my mac id as i filter my pc, notebook and pda by mac id..
i heard the ssid must be visible it cant connect to those hidden ones...
maybe lowering the security level will help as well..
HAVE YOU resolve the problem? i can not connect my home wifi as well.
thanks
Seen an app in the HTC hub called hidden wifi but not sure if it helps

[Q] My Note connects to WIFI but won't connect to the internet

Hi,
As the title says, I have created a new Wifi network at home. All my devices are connected and working without problems and my Note connects but once I try to use the internet it won't work.
It connects to the other wifi network at home without problems.
Reason I want it to connect to this network is because of its range.
The modem is a TP-Link W8960p and my wireless extender is the TP-Link WA830RE
Thank you in advance
Some questions here:
1) You use the extender with other devices as well and they get Internet connectivity without problems?
2) Check in the advanced wireless settings what IP adress you get and if gateway and subnet is correct.
3) I assume you use DHCP so you can check if the DHCP range is used up
4) Try to configure your Note with a static IP adress making sure all network config is correct.
Sorry this is just a starting point, i hope this gets you a clue why the Note can't access the Internet. Good luck!
First of all you need to check with another device, whether it is working or not
Also had the same problem, also was a wifi extender in play and i had to use a static ip so ittl work. The problem was that the dhcp was a different one as on the main router..something like that at least.
