I bought in Best Buy Samsung Galaxy Gear SM-VZ7000ZOAXAR. Can I install custom recovery and null ROM on this ? I know it's not V700 but it looks like it. What is different in this model ? I try and to Google it but I didn't get any information...

On your Gear open up Settings/Gear Info/About Gear, then see what Model Number you have. As far as I know the Gear 1 that Best Buy has sold since rollout is the SM-V700. I bought my Gear 1 at Best Buy on the day they started selling them. Also look at your software version. Is the Gear running Android or Tizen? If it is running Android then you will be fine to root, install recovery and then Null Rom. If you are on Tizen then you will need to downgrade to Android first.
There is a great thread on how to downgrade, TWRP Recovery, plus the thread for Null Rom (page 1). These walk you through everything you want to do. Good Luck
I will check software version on Saturday because now I haven't watch with me
Which software version must I have to root and flash without troubles ? What is the "Z" letter in model number ? I can't find it anywhere even on Samsung website.

EDIT
I called Samsung today, and this "Z"in model number is a mistake. Someone in BestBuy put wrong number on website.

Yes, I saw the announcement today that Tizen was finally available in the USA. I live in the USA and have been running the UK version of Tizen for a while, but I thought let me see if the USA version might be an upgrade. I never have luck with Kies so I was going to use Odin which always works well. I went to Sammobile to download the new firmware and decided to wait after I looked at the version number of the USA (Cellular South). It is 2.2.0 vs the 2.2.1.1 version which every other country has including my current UK version. Is this an earlier version of Tizen without the enhancements that come with most of the other Nations firmware? I am holding off on flashing the USA version and sticking with my UK version.
From what Samsung said on the website, we would have 140 apps or so. Since I didn't have that many on my version of tizen, I thought I would check out the other one ?

That have nothing to do with the firmware or tizen version.
It is a thing about the combination of samsung smartphone modell and the gear.
My combination is a s4 gt-i9505+gear 1 running tizen and i see only 49 or 50 total apps in the gear manager app store.
When your phone have root, you can make some changes in the build.prop file to deceive the samsungs gear manager store, as example, a galaxy s5.
Then you have a lot more apps which you can download and install.
Here you can read more details.

I upgraded my GG from Android to Tizen using the method on the forums here. When I tried to do it via the "official" Samsung instructions Kies told me it wasn't upgradable. I downgraded my GG to Android (again using the fantastic thread on the forums here) and then did the Kies upgrade. Worked without a hitch. Oh and there are more apps in the store after you get to the official version. And the official version of Tizen for the US is NF1. I can't tell any difference between the Odin flashed version and the official US version except I can "see" more apps in the store. Battery is still great. Speed is the same.

I know but that version doesn't work for me.
Hi,
I have a Samsung Note
model: SM-N910F
Snapdragon
NOT an AT&T phone.
Before the arrival of GearVR I downloaded to my Samsung Note from the Play store the "Quick Shortcut Maker" then launched "VRSetupWizardStub"
Now I have the Oculus software installed and registered. Already downloaded the movie player, several games, and movies from the Oculus environment.
I received my GearVR and connected it to the Galaxy Note. The Oculus software is supposed to launch once connected to the Note but nothing happens.
(The volume is turned up. There are no apps running in the background.)
I'm lost. Any help would be appreciated.
I personally had the same issue and I have a rooted t-mobile phone. What I did was update the phone to the latest firmware using kies. After that, it finished the installation once connected to the Gear VR.

I had the same issue. You have to physically maneuver the device ALL of the way onto the VR port. Play with it a little and it should work.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-N910A using XDA Free mobile app
If you're current on firmware then make sure that the jack in the VR is pushed into the phone completely, I found since it is on a spring sometimes it will not seat all the way.
If you are using custom ROMS you need to install AEL Kernel in order to be able to use Gear VR.
I'm running Gear VR without issues under FireKat V9 and AEL Kernel Version 7.2
Cheers!
If you download the gearvr sdk from oculus website inside zip is a few apks install anyone and and click open after install. It will force gearvr setup. I did this before I got my gearvr

Hi Rayan!
as a newbie I have a plenty of question, but first of all: what if I update an original firmware with kies? I'm hungarian and my unlocked (910F with NJ4 fmw) note 4 cant find any update. But at sammob there are 3 different fmws, with NK4.
First question: (im a newbie - again) Are there any provider data in the firmware - I mean will my phone will be unlocked after an update as well? Silly question maybe.
Another one: Can I try a german firmware? Is there english language avaible? 'cos only germans has a Lollipop update (is it worth it?)
AND A MOST IMPORTANT: Will my gear VR work with NK4 or OB4 original firmwares?
if not, I have to use a custom ROM, as I see, as U mentioned.
Thanks for replies!

You are right! It forces the setup, but not a firmware update! Works only IF your provider has an update. Otherwise it says "There are no updates avaible" - still stucked. Same for me too.

Have you tried to use this German NK4 ROM and then flash AEL Kernel?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4/snapdragon-dev/n910f-custom-rom-t2941006
But before you do anything don't forget to backup your current setup with TWRP.
But most importantly, you need to make sure you increase your knowledge from newbie to a more comfortable level, please read everything in regards of your particular Note 4 model BEFORE you do anything.
Don't rush things.... Learn, learn, learn, it's not that hard to make it work, but first you need to understand about TWRP, ROMS, Kernels and such.
Good luck!

Supposedly it should work since that setup should meet the Gear VR requirements, unless that German rom developer removed the Gear VR services (unlikely). It won't hurt to try, especially if you make sure you TWRP backup your current setup in case you need to rollback.
Good luck

Success!
Finally done. If U have an european 910F note 4, U can force your note 4 to recognize VR. But there are a plenty of things to do before..
1. Root your phone!
- Use twrp method - google it, first hit with talkative domain name IMportant to use ODIN 3.07!
2. Backup EFS, I used this one: EFS☆IMEI☆Backup, and backup current firmware in twrp
3. Download a note4 firmware from sammobile, I tried several ones, but software downloading and connecting to oculus worx only with a german lollipop (only lollipop in list)
4. Flash with ODIN, followed description of sammobile
It worked for me. I'm from Hungary, with Vodafone.
In a online store there is a note 5 with the model number of N920F. Can I know is there such model number available and what region it's for?

hi, guys. there is no 920f. i bought a samsung phone with the back tag reading sm-n920f. but here was no firmware update for it so i did a little search. this is what i found out.
i installed phoneinfo from playstore and it tells me the model is not n920f but n920v. so i downloaded the n920v firmware from sammobile and installed it using odin. guess what it works perfectly.
if you have the original samsung note 5 which reads n920f kindly install the phoneinfo software from playstore to get the actual model number and reinstall the firmare.
Same mine, but it's weird, it's Rooted, busybox installed and Konx it is not Tripped 0x0.Bootloader it is N920P. i realy don't know what is this. it is any chance to install a recovery (TWRP) without brick the phone?i miss ViperAndroiFx.
Hi
I have recently purchased Samsung Galaxy Tab S2 8.0 (T-715) and rooted it. Few days back android 7.0 has released and I want to upgrade my tablet to android 7.0. It is not possible to upgrade from "About Device" menu as it gives error:

Last year same thing happened with my Nexus 7 and then I downloaded the rom and manually upgraded it. Now I want to do the same thing for my Samsung tablet but I am unable to find the rom.
Kindly guide me that from where I can download android 7.0 rom for my tablet?
Regards
Lol, you will probably never see android 7 on your device...
It's only available for nexus and the Pixel c for the moment.
And samsung will release it just for a few models.
Galaxy tab s2 may not be one of these

Its a bad news
Is there any general version of which can be downloaded and installed? like in linux kernels we have a "vanila" version which is originally released without any patches etc.
That's not true. As SamMobile published some times ago, our sm t-715 it's likely to be updated to the latest android version 7.0. Same as the other variants. There are no official informations though, but we will see in the future what happens. Personally by one side i think that our tab has the right specs to be updated, on the other side i'm afraid about two things:
1) Samsung could be lazy and forget a relatively new and high spec device to be updated
2) Developement community isn't very populated and every version of Android Nougat that will be out unofficially (if one there will ever be) will broken fingerprint support and Mobile network on LTE variants.
P.s i'm very sorry, i wish to link you to the article i saw on internet but i cannot fin it, very sorry.

Realistically, I think we will all be waiting somewhere between 6 months to 1 year, IF this tablet gets Android 7 at all.
If not, its a case of waiting for a custom rom.
If you wanted instant updates, you should have bought the Pixel C, (as the Nexus 9 is rubbish.)
tab s1 has just got android 6 so maybe there is hope for s2 and 7
I have two questions:
1. Are custom roms safe?
2. If you find any custom rom, will you post link here?
Thanks

No, never use a custom rom. All veterans here on XDA know only the North Koreans publish custom roms in hopes of tricking a newbie to download it so they can hack your computer.
If you have a friend that is using a custom rom on their phone please block there phone number if it is not too late, as a phone call from them will affect your phone as well.
Hi I bought BT version of galaxy watch 3. Everything is working great for now, only I tried to install samsung pay but I always get some error:
Tried this one:
https://www.apkmirror.com/apk/samsu...-gear-1-7-3006-android-apk-download/download/
Help mi to get Samsung pay to work.
Thank you
SM-R840 or SM-R850?
Btw, but you know it is not in all counies...
A
enabled
B
not working
For instance Germany.
DBT Phone + DBT GW3 = forget S Pay.
Best Regards
SM-R840
Okay.
Now if not Top Secret.
Country... better to know Sales Code aka CSC...
Example...
KOO is Korea... but seems Samsung Pay not work in Korea...
Working country is for example... USA... with Sales Code aka CSC aka active CSC:
Code:
XAR
If you are from US... so good chain to increase your luck is:
Samsung Phone with Sales Code from US
+
Watch with CSC from US
+
Valid allowed supported Credit Cards for Spay...
Because this is also 1 funtastic phenomenon... not all Cards are samsung Pay enabled as it seems...
If you wish to try CSC change... then Combination firmware and Stock Firmware allready leaked... but nobody tested yet... IMHO...
Only as info.
Best Regards
Did anyone figure out how to chnage region on GW3 yet?
Slovenia... As I know official Samsung pay is not available in Slovenia... But also google pay is not available and I installed it on my phone and it is working great
@Veles128
All I know is Samsung increased Security in Tizen 5.5...
But this means NOT... old tricks not work...
In theory all leaked what """we""" need.
Combination FirmwareS to have Root access...
Stock Firmware to get back to """Normality"""
My suggestion is to check first if Reading and Backup work in CSA partition...
This could be done without play with Firmware...
Attempt to copy to PC:
Code:
sdb pull /csa/csc/csc-active-customer.inf
Code:
sdb pull /csa/imei/prodcode.dat
Attempt to show only:
Code:
sdb shell
Code:
cat /csa/csc/csc-active-customer.inf
Code:
cat /csa/imei/prodcode.dat
Try and see if this is working...
Maybe Samsung protected CSA again like in old Gear S2 times...
Best Regards
Any option to get working google pay apk for tizen 5.5? ? That would be super awesome
GW3 stock firmware us
hi, anyone have access or know where can I download the official US rom for SM-R840.
By mistake I did the *#243203855# install KOO and not able to get it back to original firmware.
Thanks

Can you maybe explain what exact you wish...

Code:
XAR
Here I have uploaded few files...

No idea if this is """official""" enough for you... because leaked files...

I need S-pay on the GW3,
I know the previous generations of watches had S-pay pre-installed, Wonder why they left it out this time around. Hope someone soon figures a way out to change the CSC or even better Hope Samsung roles an update out with S-Pay installed
