Hi,
How can I decrypt "OEMSettings.reg" from the rom Lumia 1020?
Tannks
Where do you get this file from? Alternatively, can you attach it here?
From Cyan release donloaded by "Nokia Software Recovery tool".
View attachment OEMSettings.zip
I also had sometimes this problem on some ROMs (but not only on the "OEMSettings.reg" file).
No matter the "support" (NCS, NaviFirm+, etc).
Yeah, helpful reg.
I know this registry since 8.1 released, because it's included in 8.1 update.
Get from this path
C:\Windows\Packages\RegistryFiles\OEMSettings.reg
@titi66200
Install webserver native access xap & dl .reg file.
Okay, but if we want compare a crypted file "OEMSettings.reg" of another ROM (which was not flash) how do we?
@anaheiim
Deploy Webserver native access xap you will get it.
---------- Post added at 09:35 AM ---------- Previous post was at 09:33 AM ----------
I think its only available for Lumia Device as per my knowledge.

No you do not understand (or maybe it's me).
For example my device running FR CV ROM, and I have a crypted file "OEMSettings.reg" via an dump of the IN CV ROM (via FFU Tool), if we do not want to flash the ROM in question (IN CV ROM, so we want to stay on FR CV ROM), how do I decrypt the file of the IN CV ROM?
@anaheiim
Zzzz... Sad... Still confused..
I didn't spend a time on custom roms & as far i know that we cant edit signed .ffu
I don't know.. sorry !
Try to load rom on pc like an as vhd or something.
@djamol
Yeah, we can't edit the FFU file, but we can dump it.
On some FFU, the files like OEMSettings.reg (but not only) are "decrypt", and on some FFU this files are crypted.

Hmmm that was a confusion. When we dumps the files, they were totally decrypted but here is another case.
Thanks for inform.
For example, see the dump of NL930 059W007 RM-1045 VAR EURO FR CV BLACK, FW 02061.00066.14252.51003 checked.
What is the problem ?, is a normal compressed file. Just add *.zip, > OEMsetting.reg.zip and extract.

Hi Guys,
I am trying to flash my rom from Asia to Qtek. I have read that i need to convert the exe to usable form. I have been reading the wiki but, just cant seem to be able to do so.
just extract the exe file with a zip program
ermm.. extract from any zip program ?? i dont get u dude.. I have got the
.exe file btw, when i run the baupgrade.exe, it says device data error. i have edited my editfix.bat. When i run the .exe file direct, it says country id error.
i also used the new type I tools still, no luck
Whats meant by "convert the exe to usable form", is the exe file you download, well the upgrade exe file
I-Mate_PDA2k_French_14002_167_11200.exe this you can extract with zip.
If you download a TypeII rom, you should be able to use the MaUpgradeUt_noID file descriped here
If you download a TypeI rom, then use the xda3nbftool.exe to modify the rom to match your devicedata.exe.
Note that you must have the correct Rom password to get correct out come using xda3nbftool.exe.
Search Forum for password for the desired Rom

apks are just zip files. Set them to open with your archive manager or change the extension to .zip. All applications install their settings into /data/data/%PACKAGENAME% where %PACKAGENAME% is the Java-style package name of the app.
Ugh, no need to use the evil "R" word here. You're going to give us nightmares!
Each application stores its configurations/settings in its home directory in /data/data as pointed out by the previous poster. You might want to bone up on 'sqlite3' as most configuration settings tend to be stored in such databases.

I'am trying right now to find this confing files, thanks, I'll let you know if it's ok.
Note that depending on what you are trying to do, the config files may or may not be able to adjust the property you're after. No matter what, the program itself must support what you are trying to do (this goes for ALL OS's -- you simply can't change something that is irrelevant and expect it to do what you want) and more often than not, the ability to adjust that property would be presented by the program itself.
That is, of course, not to say that manually adjusting the config files is useless, because there IS a lot you can do directly from the config files.

Download APK2EXE and NSIS install system
Follow these steps to create your executable!
* Extract APK2EXE to a new directory
* Add your APK to the directory
* Doubleclick APK2EXE.NSI and edit the 3 lines containing information about your application.
* Right click the NSI file, and select 'Compile NSIS Script' - this will create your install EXE
* Done!
And it is a .apk to .exe converter !!!
Can anyone tell me why it doesn't work ? Many thanks
because your trying to run a Android application on Windows.
it's like saying I want to make this MAC application run on windows.. it just doesn't work..
I dont care what programs say.. Its not coded for Windows so it wont understand what the program does...
BTW you application you speak of is meant to install APK's FROM windows not TO windows
"Hot on the heels of my installAPK utility to let you install APKs from your Windows desktop, I now have another neat trick... which allows developers to distribute APKs as Windows EXE files instead."

shouldnt be too tough. just make a executable file that installs and configures adb, allows user to select apk or select a folder of apk's, create a .bat file that tells windows command prompt adb push the .apk to the sd card, then adb install /sdcard/nameofapk.apk
simple enough!
Can anyone tell me how to edit the app / extracted APK file to make the phone think it's a completely different app i.e. install it twice...
Not trying to cause trouble, I'm just looking to install an older version of an app as well as the updated version...

Thanks for replying, I've had a go with that and extracted / decompiled, compiled, signed, and that doesn't work, when I try to install the newly created apk it still tries to overwrite it...
I've watched the vid and read the comments but haven't worked it out yet... Can you point me in the right direction about which bit to edit?
i think you need apktool
Cool, I'll look into that... Any pointers on how to do it once I've got apktool?
command line usage, this tool unpak and repak
Hi there,
since it is very easy to flash a Nokia ROM with "Nokia Care Suite" i wanted to ask if it's possible to edit the FFU directly to change some files and also get rid of all those unnessary language files that waste space?
I mounted the file thourgh ImgMount and looked at the rest of the file with binwalk and other tools. Interesting

I believe the file is signed and will not flash if you modify it, but I don't actually have a Nokia phone to test.
I've got a Lumia 620 on the crappy aio/cricket carrier that won't update past Amber. I do like a couple of the aio ringtones that I'd like to extract before I flash to one of the EU CV ROMs. I've got the phone with the aio Amber firmware installed as well as the aio Amber ROM from the Nokia Software Suite.
If the ringtones are stored in or under the C:\Windows directory, you can extract them with my webserver app. If not, your odds aren't good since you don't have interop-unlock. You could extract them using JTAG, but that's expensive and tricky.

I presume the webserver app is the one linked I your sig?
I got the webserver app installed and can browse the files under C:\Windows. Now, does anyone have any idea where the ringtones may be stored? Is there any way to search via this webapp file browser?

You can also dump a rom and see on "C:\Programs\CommonFiles\Sounds".

I do have the .ffu package for the aio ROM from the Nokia Care Suite downloaded. Is there an easy way to dump the contents?
Edit: Found this tool to mount an ffu as a drive

Ha, I hadn't refreshed the thread when I edited my post above. Seems to have worked. The sounds are all there.
Thanks so much!
Found in firmware Finder.. It seems to be for P30 Pro.
http://update.dbankcdn.com/TDS/data/files/p3/s15/G4705/g1755/v304788/f1/full/update_full_base.zip
I want to extract it so I can get apks such as the launcher or camera app. I have managed to extract UPDATE.APP and I saw inside a file called SUPER. img which I suppose is equivalent to the usual system.img however I can't extract it. I tried different tools but I failed.
Does anyone know how to unpack that SUPER.img file?

Hi m8, even if you manage to unzip the SUPER.img file (you can try with 7zip, maybe it will work, don't bet on it) you can't install those apk's on EMUI 9.1, because they are different.
On EMUI 10 you can push those apk's (and camera libs folders) only if you're rooted and have bootloader unlocked.
Later edit: or you can rename it to system.img and try using this tool. Ignore, the tool is not available anymore

I still have hopes as based on my experience not always the system app are only restricted to the new Android SDK. So maybe those two apks will be compatible with android P SDK or can easily be modes to make them compatible
However I didn't find a way to unpack SUPER.img despite trying different methods..
