[Q] Recovery Imag is not working. - LG Optimus 2x

I am trying to install this custom Rom at the moment.
My problem is that the recovery image that I am supposed to use doesn't really work for me. I use AIO Toolkit and root with the recovery image. Than I want to install SuperUser through through the Recovery Mode. But the phone constantly displays the LG Logo. No Bootloop just stuck at the logo. PWR + -Vol doesn't work. It just stays at the Logo. When I use AIO Toolkit and reinstall another recovery image (e.g. ClockworkMod 6.0.1.5). It works fine. But when I install the Rom then it just does nothing. Still 2.3.4 Gingerbread V20Q and not CM10. So it looks like I really need the recovery to get it to work.
Anybody know how to make the recovery image in the thread to work?
I can't post in the thread itself because I don't have 10 posts yet sadly.

Number 3 does not work. Number 2 for example does.

Problem on rooting my g1

I followed this tut http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=548924 and got up to the installing CyanogenMOD 4.0.1 (Stable) part. The 4th step it asks me to hold alt+I+W+S in the recovery mode. But my g1 download\install right after i pressed alt+I and W there was no need for S somehow or i messed it up...And then as for the 5th part it did not ask me to reboot it reboot by itself automatically and i had to do the google registration part again like i was downgrading. So i want to know if i had rooted and installed the custom rom successfully or i did something wrong.
the quickest way to tell if it worked is to go to terminal emulator and type su if you get a screen that comes up and ask for your permission to run su then you have root and a custom rom. the other way is if your have 5 homescreens
Uhh where is the terminal emulator lol sry im a newbie ;3. And what you mean by 5 home screen?
either check your app tray or download it from the market. do you have 3 home screens, or 5 home screens, or go into settings and look for something like this under about phone

what does the kernel version say? most likely though you will need to reflash your rom though. make sure the rom is on the root of your sdcard, if you don't have the 1.4 version of cyanogen's recovery image then rename it to update.zip (if you do not know what recovery you have assume you need to name it to update.zip). then boot into recovery(home and power), select the option to flash update.zip from sdcard (something like that) then when it is finished reboot the phone.
david do you happen to have aim\msn or ym? Hate forum posting D:

[Q]Problem Installing Koolactive ROM for Galaxy S5

Ok, so I've tried installing this ROM for my ATT Galaxy S5 Active
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att...m-koolkit-s5-koolactive-v1-0-0b01-07-t2809957
However, I get stuck at step 4: Reboot to SS Recovery. When I try to boot to recovery, I hold the Power, Vol. Up, and Home button, but I jsut go to Android Recovery.
Anyway, I try to continue on with the steps anyway. I do the wipe and I try to install from the external SD card. I get lots of errors: "not valid signature" and similar errors. Then I'm back to stock
any ideas?

Yes you really need to read the SafeStrap OP more carefully first of all you don't use power-home-volume up to access SafeStrap recovery. I'm assuming you've installed the SafeStrap apk.but have you actually installed the recovery itself? This is what your SafeStrap screen should look like

I think your model number is k50a40. Follow this guide for flash TWRP recovery.

I've installed the latest stable firmware by SP Flash (K50-T5_USR_ST1614_5.294.1_1604011150_mp1V2.39_CN) but now I was reading about that the Marshmallow roms need to be flashed with patched boot image for custom recoveries. I've just found S422_Patched_boot.img (I hope that file is all what I need). Could sb explain me how to do this?? The next move will be gapps/root and finally try to fix IMEI on my yellow but I am stuck...

I don't know flashing patched boot.img is required to flash custom recovery. I flashed custom recovery directly without flashing patched boot image and it working well.
OK I did it. If u have K30-T5 (MarshalRom 6.0) it will works. Instruction below.
1. Copie K50-T5_PATCHED_BOOT_1621_DEV.RAR file to your device
2 Flash TWRP 3.x via SP Flash
3. Enter to the installed Recovery Mode
4. Choose instal that file what I've wrote above
5. Swipe to confirm Flash
6. Reboot system
I want to fix my IMEI now. I'd like to use SN Writer but I don't know which file MD1DB, and APDB should I select on Marshmallow.

Note 5: bad firmware/OS - can't get around it

I'm working on a Galaxy Note 5 that I am trying to reset the firmware on. Someone's installed a custom build (that's verified in the "about phone" details) and it co-opts the volume down button boot sequence, so I can't get into download or safe mode. I've attached a screenshot. Has anyone seen this before and how to I purge this thing?

Your image isn't showing.
Image not showing
Ok, let's hope this works as a link to the image:
This happens with the power-volume down and power-volume down-home sequences, so I can't get it into safe mode. Someone's definitely put a custom image on, but I'm not sure how to clean it/replace it.
The power-volume up sequence works fine, but since this is a custom image, it won't get cleaned off by wiping the cache and/or factory reset.
Apparently, since I'm a newbie here, I can't post external links, which makes the forced external URLs for images a little useless to me right now...
Can't you just power off, boot into download mode and Odin a stock firmware, then re-root after?

That's the thing - whoever did this co-opted the sequence to boot into download mode - power + volume-down/power + volume-down + home. I did find a way to do it without needing to go into boot mode, but I can't post the link here because I'm a newbie! That should solve my problem - I'm just setting it up on Linux and I'll keep people posted on the solution.
What's happened is that someone's basically done a custom firmware/kernel combo that makes it impossible to get into download mode, so you have to totally backdoor it. When I get it working and verify it, I'll post the solution here.

Can't power off phone or enter recovery.

Following official Magisk installation guide.
Phone is a Snapdragon S10+, China/HongKong model.
Just Odin'd Android 12, rebooted and installed Magisk app, repaired tar with recovery option because no ramdisk then Odin'd all again with new fixed AP tar.
The problem now is according to the guide I have to get into android's recovery mode somehow.
I've tried all manner of key combinations like Bixby+vol up+ power etc and nothing works except download mode again.
Do I really have to wait for the phone to run out of power?

It is official originally. That message is because I flashed a magisk repaired AP tar to try and gain root. The next step was to enter recovery.
From https://topjohnwu.github.io/Magisk/install.html#magisk-in-recovery
Heading: system-as-root
Tried again using a Canary build magisk, was able to finally get into recovery after flashing modified tar however the only option was a factory reset. Oh well..back to the drawing board.

Hey I got it working. Went back to magisk 24.3.
Was checking recovery option box before the AP patching as advised because no Ramdisk but a friend told me not to check recovery anyway and I successfully rebooted twice and now have root and Zygisk.
Thanks for your input!
