[Q] ROM Manager not installing downloaded ROM

I can't seem to get a ROM to install on my motodroid - I have the latest ROM Manager and the ClockworkMod recovery app flashed but every time I try to install a ROM (either downloaded w/ ROM Manager or via a file saved to the SD vai the USB cable) I get the attached alert display. Alt+Ctrl+Del reboots me back to the starting point...
What's wrong?
Tom

So that key combo worked?
well.......
It brick the phone but i was able to recover from it. How can I get the apps on my sd card back on my phone.
seems like holding 'x' work to get me back from brick
I was able too restore back to the rpm i was using before i started with a backup in rom manager......awsome so now i can play without worry,,,,,, thanks so much!!!!!!
More on the problem
So, I consistently get the screen in the original post if I try to select the option presented after the download is complete to automatically boot to recovery and install the ROM - but if I install from a .zip while already in ClockworkMod, I am successful in installing a ROM. The problem seems to come with doing an over-the-air download in ROM Manager then attempting to transition to ClockworkMod to do the install. Alt-Ctrl-Del while on the screen displayed in the original post reboots and gets me back to my existing ROM...
It seems like something is not working as it should be, but it seems I have a way to make things work...
Tom
"Reboot into Recovery" also fails
I just tried to "Reboot into Recovery" from ROM Manager and that also failed (gave me the dead screen shown on the original post)...
Booting while holding x gets me into ClockworkMod successfully. I currently have ClockworkMod version 3.1.0.2 installed (it has given me the most success so far).
Any suggestions?
Tom
It seems I was wrong - I'm not currently able to boot into recovery using the x button during boot...
Tom
Getting better
I flashed back to the "current" ClockworkMod - 2.5.0.1 - and now I can "Reboot into Recovery"...
Maybe not better...
Errr My device seems flaky - I tried to install a ROM and the transition to ClockworkMod did not work again... Isn't this supposed to "Just work"?
More success yesterday
Once I got Pete's Gingerbread ROM loaded/installed (via .zip file) my problems getting to ClockworkMod and trying new ROMs seem to have cleaned up.
After performing the "e-mail connect" (to do that I had to turn off Droidwall) I was successful in downloading directly to the phone and flashing a new ROM.
Good luck all...
Tom

Unfortunately the setup wizard has stopped

i installed the NAA kernal and CM9, and all going great, i did however realise that i needed to install gaaps, so i placed on card, rebooted into recovery and installed, all going good, and then after bootup where you tap the android man to continue. this is what i get 'UNFORTUNATELY THE SETUP WIZARD HAS STOPPED'..
I cannot bypass this. ive tried installing two different gapps on it, and both times this..
any help would be appreciated

Hello guys!
I'm new to the forum, and a total noob when it comes to android. I have a VERY similar problemToday I installed the latest version of CM. Worked fine. I installed gapps. Now when I turn on the device, it just shoes the message and I can't do anything. I wanted to try reflashing a newer version of gapps, but I can't put it on my sd card, because my computer won't detect it anymore...I can't use my phone at all, I am starting to panic :/

wanna thank xda? here
unzip the rom with winrar you leave two folders that enters the system says and go to the folder that says-app-here clears-app-setup wizard again after that compress the two files that were decompressed - metainf--system-with-winrar-do not forget to put format .zip and you have the zip file to your sd put it, install it normally..
Unfortunately the message has stopped the setup wizard should no longer appear

[Q] Viper4Android + FXP 331 = Fail?!

Hey guys, I installed Viper4Android today on the latest FXP CM11.
Installed the drivers and rebooted but when I opened Google Play Music it didn't work.
Then I uninstalled the drivers and rebooted. Done that I went and uninstalled the app.
My music wasn't working yet. So I rebooted in recovery and flashed CM11 zip again.
The installation failed and it got me into a bootloop.
Rebooted again in recovery, flashed the FXP zip again, wiped cache and rebooted.
Take a long time. I though it wasn't going to work so I began to write this post.
Now is working fine, even the sound.
Back to the real question. How can I install correctly Viper4Android and use it with Google Play Music in CM11?
Thanks, :silly:
Viper4Android or V4A for short has some issues with staying active. On my older device the Samsung Galaxy S Plus it only worked on a Stock (Gingerbread 2.3.6) ROM..
In V4A you can try the other settings or mode too:
- Compatible mode
(-Safe mode?)
And try again..
If that does not seem to work you best contact the V4A thread/developer and ask there

Can't install rom!

Hi,
I tried to install the customized rom for my xperia-zr(Here is the link for rom information-http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-zr/development/rom-customizedzr-featured-rom-t3296304)My phone's bootloader is locked, rooted and have XZDualRecovery_2.8.24 installed.I tried to install the rom via teamwin recovery,I followed every step but couldn't install the rom for error. This is the error message when trying to install the rom(set_metadata_recursive: some changes fail).
It'll be a very helpful for me if anyone help me to slove this problem?
Thanks in advance.
It didn't work.Same problem “set_metadata_recursive: some changes fail"
Could you tell me clearly should I install the rom using flashfire also???I installed the recovery zip using flashfire and then I used twmp to install rom.Is there anything wrong?

Samsung GT I8262

In this phone it is not giving me permission to install anything.
I did factory reset, hard reset. still it is not allowing me to install anything. Somehow i tried installing super su . but it says there is no su binary installed and SuperSu cannot install it. This is a problem.
It is automatically installing something and not allowing me to install anything. If i try to install it's getting close.
How to solve this?
How to make my phone root and install cm12 or cm13?
Thanks in advance.
