Hey everyone,
Having a bad GPS -signal as soon as I plug in my headphones (which renders GPS tracking basically useless for me), I am looking for alternative ways of using my headphones while doing sports. Searching the Internet, I came across various microUSB to headphone adapters (e.g. serach on amazon for: "LinkS Micro USB to VGA MHL Adapter+Micro 5pin to 11pin adapter + Charging Cable in Black 3 Feet Kit" or "Universal Micro USB Interface to 3.5mm Plug Earphone Adapter (Black)", I have not enough posts to post links/images, yet). Now I am wondering if our phone will support these adapters and if yes, can I control the volume of the output?
Many thanks in advance!
Using an USB audio device requires USB OTG which our device doesn't support.
Hey @Adam77Root but we have working mhl which anyway is using microusb port. And iodaks kernel have working otg too.
Edit: android L seems will have support for USB audio devices IF they have working otg

MHL uses a different method.
If there is working OTG, USB audio support is enabled in the kernel and USB audio HAL is included in the rom, it can work. Older versions too support it.

I am interested in connecting my phone to an external DAC/AMP (Fiio e17/e9) via its micro USB port and is wondering if this is possible?
Does Andriod OS support AUX preamp audio signal out through it's micro USB port? If so, which adapter should I purchase?
Or I could maybe do it by using a combination of adapters MHT to HDMI first and then HDMI to SPDIF (PCM signal) ? Any suggestion on the adapters?
Cheers
BUMP!
anyone?
I want ti do the same. I have a note 2 and would like to know if there is a method to connect the a fiio e11 via a 3 5mm stereo jack with the pre amp output from the phone?

For the audiophiles among you, I confirm that the Tab S 8.4 is USB audio capable. My HRT microstreamer USB DAC works perfectly.
What about analog usb audio is that supported too?
Sent from my GT-N7105 using Tapatalk
Andriod is getting really good support with usb OTG
my amazon.com/dp/B000KW2YEI/ref=pe_385040_30332190_TE_dp_1 Behringer UCA202 Audio Interface Works with both the tab s 8.4 and my s5
also my PS3 controller works via usb otg
USB hubs work as well; now I just need a way to charge the tablet while using usb otg
That is what I am looking after to.
If I only could get my eyes on a service manual I will find a way to charge while OTG is enabled.

There are many Y cables on eBay that allow charging and otg use at the same time. I find it's a bit hit and miss, as some don't work while others do
We might find some info on this in the kernel source as well.
The table for USB Id should say the resistor value needed for the combination that gives charging and USB OTG at the same time.
I'll see if I can find out which module in the kernel that does USB ID sensing.
I want to connect a 27 inch monitor or projector.
From the official support says (ticket #770598, from Sky) that phone 3T supports out video via HDMI
I understand that you wanted to know if OnePlus 3T supporte USB to HDMI. I can provide you with the information that you needed.
I would like to inform you that OnePlus 3T supports HDMI as long as it is connected to the OTG cable/ converter.

Phone have usb type c version 2.
My questions:
1. This phone is really support hdmi alt mode? I don't see the image HDMI (or DisplayPort or Thunderbolt) alternat mode on the box.
2. If (1) is true. Any cable good for me? Ex. usb type c multiport adapter from apple store or necessarily with OTG?
3. How big is the latency video of through miracast (ex. ezcast)? If connect mouse and watch on cursor movement.
I tried this yesterday with a USB C to Hdmi adapter I got off Amazon and I had no luck connecting to the monitor.

Thans for the reply
I think they sold me a dud
Phone not supports MHL and other alt. mode
II wonder if a driver could be put into a ROM to support it via USB OTG since it doesn't support MHL?
I have an old external sound card, a Creative Xmod, that works perfectly with my roommates USB C, OTG adaptor.

I think because it is not implemented in hardware in the phone
If I'm correct Display Port alternate output requires USB Type-C 3.1 since the phone supports only 2.0 it shouldn't work. However not many phones utilise this feature even Google Pixel doesn't use this mode
Video out works fine on the 3T but only with Displaylink adapters. (So far anyway)
I have one and can confirm it definitely works either via HDMI or HDMI to DVI (I've tried both)
I used this one: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01N40RQV4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
but any displaylink adapter or dock will work. (Make sure it very specifically says dispaylink, check the displaylink website if you aren't sure)
The only note is that displaylink says the Ethernet ports on the docks do not work with android.
(I suspect they might work on devices that support a regular Ethernet adapter though, I haven't been able to get a normal Ethernet adapter working on my oneplus 3t though for what that's worth.)
you will also need the displaylink app from the playstore though it does not have to be running.
if any of you have experience using an external Audio DAC with USB Audioplayer pro the process is very similar.
Once you plug the monitor in, a pop up will ask if you want to let the displaylink app control the adapter and if you hit "ok" it does the rest automatically.
Does the phone charge while connected to the DisplayLink adapter?
Just try with Chromecast or anything else with Mirascreen option
Does it work with Anker Premium USB-C Mini-Dock
Hi there everybody:
Have anyone tried to connect a dock like the Anker Premium USB-C Mini-Dock, Does OP3T work for charge and to view the USB ports of the dock? May be HDMI and Ethernet doesn't work but for me the matter is the chargue and the USB ports to connect an external DAC, a microsd and a pendrive. Regards.
Hello, here is the following testing I have done to the Motorola Z Play, I have plenty of resources to play with the USB-C and all kinds of Monitors and TV's.
This is the progress: USB-C to...
DP: Not Working
DP 1.2: Not working
DP 1.4: Not working
HDMI: Not Working
HDMI 1.4: Not Working
HDMI 2.0: Not tested yet
HDMI Yuv420 (UHD, HDR) : Not tested yet
HDMI MHL (UHD): Not tested yet
VGA and DVI are not working.
HDCP is working fine on my device. I'm using the latest version of Lineage OS.
Do you want me to test it more to another output?
Hi,
I'm using this adapter : M.Way Aluminium MHL Micro USB to HDMI Cable Digital AV Adapter Plug
It permits to mirror the screen on TV.
just no video with Apps which have "HDCP" video copyrights protection like Netflix
HEY
dont use the stock DATA cable since that is only USB 2.0, buy a USB 3.1 data cable and repeat those tests once again and then post it here. now those results are just ****.

Do you know the diferences between the standard of USB-C and USB, right? What do you mean???
The cables that I did used are USB-C, and the panels which I used are DP, HDMI, VGA, and DVI.
Your comment makes no sense, cause a "USB 2.0 and 3.1" are the standard USB but with different cables. Im using USB-C, which is A LOT BETTER than the "recommendation" you gave.
Really, what do you mean??

i know what is USB-C is i am talking about the other end of the data cable,
you see there are TWO end to a data cable one end is USB-C and the other end must be USB A type with USB 3.1 wiring style that means its base should be blue color and it has to have 4+5=9 pins in it please google USB 3.1 A type for more info
in india stock data cable is USB-C to USB 2.0 A type connector with only 4pins thats why lot of guys who tried to connect HDMI has been failed because HDMI needs USB 3.1 which has 9 pins.

I have never said that i'm using USB.
My dongles are USB-C to Video Television or Digital Video. There is no way my panels accepts video over USB. These are my dongles:
USB-C to HDMI 2.0
USB-C to HDMI
USB-C to eDP(Female)
USB-C to DP
Why would I need USB, while I have the actual dongle without needing another dongle for the USB you are menctioning? Can you see the photo I provided please?
The reason none of the adapters work is because the type C Port of the Z play doesn't have the HDMI/video out chipset/hardware. Hopefully this will become standard on type c phones but right now, it's wishful thinking. Maybe if this was a Mac book the type c would do video, Ethernet, charging, etc...
Let's not forget, this is midrange phone. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news on this one.

Do you use it with the moto Z ? surprising as moto has an usb-c port, not a micro-usb.
Did you manage to have hdmi screen output from a moto z [ /play/play2/force] ?
Yes, I have a Moto Z play.
I use an USB-C to normal USB cable (same cable to connect to my computer) to connect to the M Way MHL adapter (female USB input, the male USB input is for power)) . This cable is certified USB 3.1
I have another USB-C to normal USB cable but with this one it's not working (usb 2.0 only)
It's a kind of hdmi output, the adapter works as an usb screencast, usb debugging must be on on the smartphone
hope it helps
As the M5 Lite uses a USB C port (with USB 2 speeds according to reviews) I'm curious as to whether there is a USB C OTG dongle/hub/dock that works with this device? Has anyone tested this?
If not - I have ordered 3 dongles and a hub to test and will report back. Thought it might be useful for the wider community to be informed, whilst also inquiring myself.

To answer my own question - USB hub works fine, usb dongles also work - it seems the USB C connector is standard from this side of things. I've not tested HDMI out as don't have a HDMI adaptor.

Hi. Which adapter works for you? I bought one on Amazon usb/sd/hdmi to USB-C and it didn't worked for my Huawei M5 lite 10 but it worked on a Samsung A 2018. Also does the hdmi adapter work, have you tried it? Thanks
Hello.
I just bought the M5 Lite, seems to work great. For the USB interface, I have a usb hub which works fine with the tablet: it has 3 USB ports, and I am able to simultaneously access a USB drive, as well as use a logitech wireless keyboard dongle allowing use of BOTH wireless keyboard and mouse. However the newest hub which I bought specifically to use with this tablet, a "FitFort" type-C hub pro, does NOT work with this tablet(although it does work with my Xiaomi telephone.) Therefore it seems that this tablet and hub are incompatible... The Fitfort hub power light does not even light up when plugged into the M5 Lite...This is dissapointing since the Fitfort Hub has an HDMI port which was the main feature I wanted to try out. I have researched HDMI output for the M5 Lite but have not yet found anyone claiming the HDMI output will work from the M5 Lite. By the way, although this Fitfort hub works fine with my Xiaomi phone(for UDB drives and dongles), the HDMI port does not work for this Xiaomi phone.
As for M5 Lite HDMI output, anyone having success with this please post info. Thanks
