Severe Battery Drain issue after 4.4.2 update - Samsung Galaxy Gear

OK, I just upgraded my (rooted) Note 3 from 4.3 HD 7 to 4.4.2 running Hyperdrive RSL8 ROM. I actually forgot to connect my Gear One back up after upgrading. So, after a couple of days I remembered it was not connected. During this time battery life on my Gear was normal...i.e. lasting all day and then some. So, I connected my Gear to my phone and now I am seeing severe battery drain. It went completely dead yesterday. I charged it up overnight and took it off charger this morning around 7:00 am and now it is 11:30 am and my Gear is down to 46%. I am now at 35% at 12:05 pm.
Is there some problem with the Gear and 4.4.2? I am running the Tizen software on my Gear, which I have been running for a couple of months now and I actually saw improved battery life once I upgraded to Tizen over the old firmware on the Gear. But after the 4.4.2 upgrade on my Note 3, my Gear is horrible.
Suggestions?

Well, must have just be a fluke. I reset the Gear and redownloaded Gear Manager and since then seems like the battery drain issue is gone. Hopefully, for good.

[Q] Kernel = Battery Drain??

Noob question. Does the kernel have anything to do with battery life? Me and my wife both have a note 3. Mine is rooted hers isn't (4.4.2). Her battery life is great but Im not having any luck at all. If I charge my phone over night i wake up the next morning with 92% AND ITS STILL PLUGGED IN lol. Its like it stopped charging in the middle of charging. I would then have to unplug it and plug it back in for it to charge completely. through out the day I will get a full day but around 10 pm I would be at 30% or less with moderate use. Now thats ok but for this phone I should at least be at 50% with moderate use right? My kernel is 3.4.0-257432 Sat Jan 4 and hers is 3.4.0-722276 Sat Mar 15. I've used 4 different roms including DK 2.0 and DKX (Which I Love) and its the same thing. I've just stuck with the battery life. is this normal? Thanks for listening guys.lol

Since your GN3 is rooted, I assume that you are running Jelly Bean 4.3 since no one has rooted 4.4.2.
If so, you might try SafeStrap 3.71 and X-Note version 7. I had battery drain problems running the later AT&T 4.3 versions after the OTAs this year. After phone calls, my battery drain was at least five percent per hour. It used to be less than one percent per hour.
With X-Note v7, overnight I see 0.25 percent drains reported by Android Tuner. During a normal day with 25 minutes of phone calls, email downloading every four houses, some texting, and checking sport scores, I usually have 90 percent available at the end of the work day.
One of the biggest causes of battery drain is the dreaded wakelocks. They keep your phone from going to deep sleep and saving battery life. WakeLock Detector from the PlayStore works fine. I found that diagnostics.client.wakelock and NlpWakeLock. The latter can be stopped by turning off Location services. CPU Spy can show you the Deep Sleep percentage you are getting. At night, my phone reports as high as 98 percent Deep Sleep.

I'm actually running kit kat 4.4.2 and SS 3.72. Can I go back to 4.3? Meaning I'm still on the 4.3 (the phone itself) but I took the Odin update for 4.4.2 with Udroid. I hope I'm being clear. So the question is can I go back to a 4.3 rom from a 4.4 rom since I've already Odin flashed 4.4.2?

Battery drain from Gear Manager

I have an SGN3 running a Zerolemon 10000mAh battery. I have a Gear 1 . Last night 2 apps..saprovider and goprovider drained 80% of the phones huge battery alone. WTF? Gear was off. This seems to have manifested itself following a Gear Manager update. Not very happy about this. Is there any way of removing the update in an uprooted phone?
Get it sorted Samsung....not acceptable

Anyone have an N6 and a Moto360?

I'm experiencing excessive battery drain on my Moto360 since I got the N6. I used to go all day and by bedtime I would still have 20% charge, now it's completely dead by 4pm.
Trying to diagnose an issue with mine specifically or if this is an issue with the N6.
Thanks!

I've noticed slightly worse battery life as well. But, I'm not sure if it's because it's paired with the N6 or if it's Wear 5.0. I got jumped from the G3 to the N6 and never even got the 360 update until I got the N6. So it's hard for me to say. That being said, there's definitely something causing battery drain on the 360. Mine is nowhere near as excessive as your battery drain though. I'd just try and reset it if I were you.
I did a reset last night and I got the 5.0 update this morning. By 10am I was down to 38% battery. No idea what the issue is, hopefully the update will solve it. Also reset my phone thinking there may be an issue there and reinstalled the apps.
I haven't tested since 5.0 update, since I just got the update yesterday, but prior to that I didn't have an issue and only charged my 360 every other day and sometimes not until late on the 2nd day. Not sure what would be causing it other than an app being open and constantly syncing or pushing notifications constantly.
Battery on my 360 lasted all day with my moto x. With the nexus, its dead.
No trouble here. In fact, I'm getting slightly better battery life after the update to the watch a few days ago.
I did encounter something similar when I first got my watch. In my case, it was an Android Wear game I installed that had crashed after starting it on the watch, and must have kept running something in the background. I uninstalled the game, and haven't had battery troubles since.
Watch has been off the charger for 8 hours, and has 56% battery left after heavy use today.

I'm at 70% after 8 hours. All good here!
I am with 80% after hours. nexus 6: 5.0.1, moto 360 5.0.1
All good with mine, Nexus 5.0.1 and Moto 360 5.0.1 Build LWX48T

Turbo shuts down at 20% battery

For some time now, I've found that my phone shuts down sometimes as early as 25 or 30 percent still left on the battery. I mean literally, forced shutdown. I can't even get through an 8 hour workday anymore without charging, which is sad for a phone with a 3900 mAh battery that used to last me 30+ hours.
I'd do a full reset, if I thought it might bring things back to something resembling normal. Anyone else have this issue?
I get the same but closer to 15%. I'll plug it in when its dead and start it back up and it will already be at 15-16% charged.
Same problem here. I'm assuming its just because the battery is getting old. Worth noting that I have done a factory reset recently (for other issues) but the battery issue persists.
Your battery is dying. Mine did the same, then it started shutting off at higher percentages (shutdown at 80%, could only charge to 90%). Also when it reached the end, the audio on my phone (speakers and phone) cut out completely. I replaced my own with this one: http://amzn.to/2ffynQB. Easy replacement, audio came back and battery seems ok.

OK, good to know. I guess I'll just ride out the last month and a half and hopefully trade in for a Pixel XL in December.
I wonder if this is a common issue with Motorola phones, or specific to the Turbo. I would expect the battery to last at LEAST 2 years. I've had a lot of Samsung devices that are a lot older than the Turbo, and they still hold a charge quite well. Just sold a Note 2 to someone, and also a Galaxy Tab 3 8.0. Both still had great battery life.
Disappointing, as the Turbo is still a great phone...
Update: For the first time since the OG Droid, I've decided to flash a custom ROM. I'm running the 7.0 Nougat ROM found here. My battery life has been greatly improved. I'm currently sitting at 43% after 8 hours of normal workday use. I usually would have had to plug it in by now. Also, no more random shutdowns at 20%.

Question What is considered normal idle drain over night for the Tab S8

Hello, i bought the Tab S8 a week ago, everything seems fine, except for one thing, which i'm not sure if it's normal or not. But overnight(8 hours or so). It loses 5% battery. If I go check which app is responsible for this, it shows nothing.
Now 5% isn't like huge, but I did expected a bit better from a tablet that does nothing over night. At this speed, it can't even idle for a week on a full charge.
Running default android version from Samsung. So Android 13, with OneUI 5.0
In s8 ultra it's 1%
In my S8 Ultra it's 3%.
