previously on sense 5 you can directly open any notifications from the lockscreen with just a tap. after updating to sense 6, i cant do taht anymore. i tried swiping down but what happens was only a box-like thing appears and the screen becomes dark. long tapping makes the lockscreen sink into the background and u can drag it around like a homescreen.
swiping left or right on the notification only brings me back to blinkfeed or the homescreen.. any ideas how to bring back tap to open notifications?
bumps~
You have to swipe from top to down (the lockscreen have to become darker) then you can open the notification...But I regret this system not really good and the fact that all notifications are together sucks too...

Hey, just a few things I'd like t clarify before I buy the One. These are basically things I couldn't test in the store
Regarding the shortcuts on the lock screen:
If you have a password/swipe/face/watever to unlock your phone, is this bypassed when using the apps? i.e. if I have my gmail link there, can someone slide up on gmail and get straight in, or does it require a password. And if so, does it then also require a password when sliding the camera?
Regarding notifications:
Say you have a notification from facebook in the notifications slider at the top of the screen. Does Sense 5 allow you to swipe that notification away, like stock android does?
Killing applications:
On my galaxy nexus, there is the button that looks like two overlapping squares, that brings up a list of recent apps. Is there something similar to this in Sense 5?
Cheers

that would be a major security flaw ! it's not the case.

I haven't used other locks beside the swipe, but it does seem that swiping the icon up in the drawer will jump right to it.

Yes, it is a swipe to the right.

What you are talking about it "multitask" and yes, if you double tap the HOME button, you'll bring up the multi-task menu where you can swipe apps away. FYI, this is *not* the same as a task killer.

Hi,
I've just installed PAC-MAN's 4.2.2. Really good ROM and I spotted a little third icon in the notification center.
Then I tapped on that, suddenly a little circle popped up on my screen and just sticked to the left. Then things becomes really annoying, because this little thing just does not go away. I went into the settings - ROM Control - Ribbons, and tried menu - reset ribbons again and again. Still can't get rid of this. Can somebody please tell me how to make this little circle thing disappear?
This little circle thing is really annoying. I'm not sure if this is the official feature of Android, or is it just the dev team's work? It takes the job of Notification center and pops out every single time I get new push notifications. I already see what the notification is from the status bar, and can easily deal with it in the dropdown notification center, so I do not need this thing to tell me again! What's worse, this thing takes up screen space, considering Galaxy Exhibit's screen is already a tiny one. And now I just don't know how to deal with it, letting it sitting there popping up randomly and I just can't turn the thing off.
Then I see that maybe the dev team has brought the idea of Ubuntu's idea. The point is, Ubuntu's idea is just a vertical dock, and the dock idea is not only Mac OS X's, but also Android's - look at the "phone" "contact" and "app drawer" icons at the bottom of the screen! I can't say this is a bad idea, but, please, give me the option to disable it.
Double tap and drag to the x. I think.
OMG it magically worked...
Thanks a lot!!!

Its a new app called halo me and jaws talked about it in the PAC thread.
I just installed cm-11-20141022-UNOFFICIAL-w7-LG-D415 and would like to customize two things on my phone.
1. I would like to close the messenger so that when I unlock the screen, it isn't the first thing I see. I like to open my messages when I feel it's time to open them and not have to deal with them until I'm ready for them.
2. I would like to kill Yahoo Weather. I don't want it running every time I reboot my phone. If I want weather info, I can use my browser to get the info.
As a first time user of CM; I'm very impressed. With a little more TLC on my phone; I'm sure I'll be a very happy camper because of it.
Thanks to all of you who put more than a few tons of effort into this,
Jim

It may be that you're not swiping straight across the screen. There are 5 targets on your lock screen, and it just so happens that the messenger app target is just above the home screen target. I've attached a screen shot of my lock screen targets as an example. If you press and hold your unlock icon, the targets will display. Just swipe to the target you wish to open. How fast or slow you swipe doesn't matter as long as you stay in contact with the screen, you're golden!
You can disable the Yahoo weather info on your lock screen with the following steps:
- Open SETTINGS in app drawer
- Select LOCK SCREEN
- select CLOCK SETTINGS
- select DISPLAY WEATHER
- select button to turn off
- Exit using the BACK ICON located on top left of screen. Don't use the back key or your change may not be saved. I have attached screen shots for reference.
Enjoy! The devs on this phone are extremely helpful!

I tried your steps for Yahoo weather and didn't see a CLOCKS SETTINGS in LOCK SCREEN. No problem because just disabling the clock app fixed the problem.
The "Hold and Swipe" is a nice feature. I wonder if it can be customized.
Is there an easy way to turn the speaker phone on?
Thanks,
Jim

jran0880's steps, #3 "CLOCK SETTINGS" should be "Clock widget". There you'll find 3 entries, "Clock and alarm", "Weather panel", and "Calendar events". Select either on of those to manage it's settings.
Also, jran0880 is correct. The messaging app does NOT automatically show when unlocking the lock screen.
The targets can be customized. In your lock sceen settings, there's the option to Slider Shortcuts. Choose that and swipe to the one you wish to change. Tap the icon to change it and select the app name to change the app. If the app you want is not listed, press "apps" at the top of that list to show all your apps.
The speaker phone is located on lower left of your in call screen. 2nd icon from the left.
I did a reset on the Lock Screen and that made things just "peachy keen".
As for the weather and lock screen, etc.; there's no Clock Widget when I open Settings, Lock Screen. If this helps, I installed the Pico-GApps. Not sure if that makes a difference.

Anyone having issues with apps not "fitting" the screen? Often if I try to take a photo via fb messenger the camera-app will be oversized, I will only see the lower half of the editing menu on top, etc.
As for snapchat - I prefer using the virtual navigation bar, but the bar is positioned right next to/upon the buttons on the snapchat app. I suck at explaining. Basically I keep pushing the backward button when I am trying to save. Same when writing on the keyboard at times. I want the navigation bar to show at all times, but have to use the setting where I can put it away for several apps. Soo backwards. And I hate the other navigation-options even more. I was sooo excited for this phone. Not too much anymore.

Am I doing it all wrong or is there any solution to this? Snapchat and fb messenger has no full screen display on/off option either.
I do have the same problem. Most of the time i open up Instagram, my screen is scaled to my resolution which is bad, cause some things are croped then... have u gotten any help so far?
Have to wait for Android P with notch support basically
Yeah, strange! Yesterday I got OnePlus 6, and when you activate the app to work on the full-screen mode it will fill all the screen even the area around the notch, but on my P20 Pro, it works exactly like the older screens (without the notch). Both phones have the same Android version.

Best solution for me was to turn off the navigation bars in the settings and use the fingerprint scanner to navigate back, go through recent apps and go home.
Finally i upgraded my note 9 to pie. Battery life is certainly better. But I have 2 issues:
I have set a custom screen dpi in developer options to 455 dpi. In oreo it was perfect but in pie somewhere the text is too small like names below the icons, widgets and somewhere the text is too big like clock text in the status bar and text in device care app. Also the icons are way too big in proportion to the text below. Am I missing some setting?
I had set swipe down gesture to open the notification panel under homescreen settings in Samsung launcher. It was working perfect in oreo but in pie it sometimes work 1 in 3 tries and sometimes even 1 in 5 tries, i.e., i swipe down on the screen and nothing happens. Whereas swipe up to open the app drawer works perfect without any issues. Strangely if I disable the notification panel gesture, the default action for swipe up or down becomes opening app drawer and it works just fine without any problem. Anyone else noticed this strange behavior?
If not already, wipe the partition cache as that usually helps with most issues after update.

For the first question: Why not use the scaling, font size, zooming options from the settings menu?
For the second one: no, for me it works perfectly fine.

The scaling options available under display settings cannot go till 455 dpi.

I've got the same problem you mentioned in #2. It's pretty annoying! It's like it's become less sensitive, or the activation area is now higher and in the middle, or your swipe needs to be longer.
Not sure for the first question, but Nova Launcher from the play store (as do many other good launchers) have multiple gestures. Nova Launcher has the gesture that you pull down on the home screen to open notifications and also has swipe up to open app draw as well as many other gestures. I use Nova Launcher with those gestures and it works very well.
I have the same problem swiping down it's so annoying
And strangely flicking up for apps works so easy but more pressure is needed for downwards? Must be a software issue

About swipe down, do you have any widget on your homescreen? If you swipe down on a widget, it gets the swipe gesture instead of the homescreen itself so the notification panel doesn't shows up.

No widgets. I also enabled to view screen touches in developer options. And I can see its registering my swipes everytime but the notifications panel doesn't open everytime.
