Booting/Reboot defaults to recovery? - Moto X Q&A

I've been trying out some roms, and used RSD lite to flash back to stock a few times now. But somehow my device has started to default boot into recovery, and the only way to get into the system is use normal boot from fastboot.
Anyone know why and how to fix this?

Need help recovering AHD

I apparently flashed a bad .zip file that won't load, and now all I can do is sit at the Motorola logo. I've tried the hard reboot with power+vol up and down but, for whatever reason, that won't reboot to the bootloader like it used to. So, I can't get back into recovery at the moment. I can ocassionally get it to reboot to the fastboot menu, but I don't know what commands or anything to use to get me back to recovery. If I could just get back to the recovery I would be fine because I have a few older ROM zips I could flash.
Can anyone give me some advice on what to do here? My computer has ubuntu, so I'm not sure if Myth tools or anything would work?

You can do the following while on bootloader (Volume DOWN + Power button):
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
Where recovery.img is your custom recovery image. Just make sure is in the same folder that your fastboot archive. After this, you should be able to access to recovery and flash another ROM.
OR... You can flash to stock with RSD Lite and then do everything again.
Use Myth Tools to flash stock ROM or recovery.

How to encrypt with TWRP recovery installed

I realised I haven't re-encrypted my Titan yet since wiping it to correct some issues but when I tried, it just reboots. I've run into this issue before, which is caused by having a custom recovery (in my case TWRP) installed as Android uses the stock recovery to do the encryption. I don't particularly want to mess around flashing back the stock recovery and then back to TWRP, so is there a way to encrypt the phone without doing that, perhaps using ADB?
Bump. If the only way to encrypt it is to flash back the stock Recovery, could someone point me to where I can find some instructions on doing this and a download link please?
EDIT: Never mind, I found this now http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2635706 so I'll use that to flash stock recovery.

CM13(20151128) Broken recovery, Won't flash.

I use TWRP 2.8.7.1(which was flashed to the phone) and now after flashing this nightly version, the recovery gets stuck on the TWRP screen and flashes every 60 seconds, but never lets me use it.
I've searched through all the forums, but can't find anyone else with this problem. I just want to flash CM12.1 Snapshot, but I can't without the recovery working.
Everytime I flash the same recovery(TWRP2.8.7.1), the bootloader gives me the error "Mismatched partition size". I've tried "Fastboot boot TWRP2.8.7.1.img, but it sits stuck on the loading TWRP screen. I've cleared the cache, but still nothing.
The only recovery that I can get to work is CWM by booting the .img from the bootloader, but that still does nothing because none of the directories will mount, so I cant flash from the recovery.
I'm waiting on motorola to send me the stock files and just reflash stock and start from scratch, but I really want to save my data.
Does anybody have any clue as to what I'm doing wrong before I reset to stock?
Try this one:

If this recovery doesn't work, you may have to reflash the full stock rom

Nope.. didn't work. I had the 5.0 files from motorola that I flashed, and I'll update from there.
I really wish motorola would leave those files open to download instead of having to wait... sucks not having a phone, but I survived.
i have the same issue, any idea how to fix it ?

XT1095 Only able to boot into bootloader or TWRP recovery

Whenever my recovery is TWRP I am not able to boot into any type of ROM. Every time I reboot my phone it will be past the "your bootloader is unlock" and always boots straight into TWRP. When I flash stock recovery I am stuck at a image of a Android and it just stays at "erasing..." till it reboots itself. I have attempted to flash different types of roms by sideloading through TWRP and also attempted to flash stock recovery through fastboot with no luck at all.
The issue started whenever I was on stock 6.0 and flashed TWRP. Once I was in TWRP at the end when I was rebooting my phone I said yes to install supersu, which I know now was a mistake. Afterwards I was stuck in a bootloop were I finally attempted to do a factory reset which seemed to have made things worse. That was when I was stuck at the "erasing..." whenever I attempted to boot through stock recovery. Not sure what else to try at this point.
Any help would be great at this point.
I'm in the same boat. Exact same problem with no idea how to fix. I can get into fastboot screen, but that's it. Suggestions? Thanks in advance.

Help! No cant access Twrp anymore!

Hey guys i need your help. I recently tried to install PA with Twrp but i cant access it anymore. I reflashed it, erased recovery, flash the stock and TWRp again, but i cant get it work. What i think the problem is, that normally during bootup or entering TWRP i had to put in my decrypt pattern, but it doenst show up anymore. How can i get it back?
Sounds like a corrupted boot.img. Flash a stock boot.img then stock recovery, factory reset in stock recovery. Trust me it helps. Then use fastboot to flash twrp.img and u should be ok. If not you might need to send this device back to oneplus.
