Please help! I tried to install a custom boot logo via the Jrummy Boot Animation app, and now my phone just loops the new boot animation.
What I have tried:
-Hard Reset with power keys: no impact.
-Factory KDZ flash via these instructions http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-l90/general/guide-flash-stock-kdz-offline-lg-l90-t2803479 : doesn't read phone information/ freezes at 1% when I begin the updating process. There is no link on the thread to the B2CAppSetup.exe file that it mentions, so maybe it's a driver issue?
My phone: Rooted D415, no CWM or TWRP, locked BL. When it was working I enabled USB debugging and Unknown Sources, but the factory reset I tried may have ruined that. I can get into Firmware Upgrade mode, and I assume fastboot would still work, for what it's worth.
Any help I can get would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Word of advise: Always check the last update date on products such as the JRummy Boot Animation app. Alot of them are out of date and haven't been updated for quite some time. They were good apps "back in the day" but I don't believe many of them have been kept up to date.
You mentioned that you did a factory reset. Just curious, you got to the Factory Reset screen, using key combos, and confirmed the action twice? And you still have the same problem. I'm thinking the JRummy app messed up some partition information. The B2CAppSetup is plastered all over XDA. A simple search will get you what you need. It sounds like you're gonna need a KDZ flash or warranty service.

Thanks for your quick reply! Yes, I went through the two confirmation screens and saw the little android robot. I'll try to find the B2C file and see how that goes. To add to my OP about the KDZ flash, when I go to select a different language instead of Korean, there are no languages listed in the dropdown menu, but I can select "different country."
Is it possible to access the filesystem of this phone through adb or fastboot while soft bricked? Just an idea.

It's possible. Were your device drivers installed prior to this issue? If so, then it's a very good possibility. I'm assuming you have Windows PC. If so, open Device Manager and then attach your device to you PC via USB. If after attaching your device you see "Android Single Sooner Interface" or something similar in Device Manager, then the answer is most definitely yes.

Attached to PC while powered on (with bootloop):
LGE AndroidNET USB Modem
LGE AndroidNET USB Serial Port
LGE Android MTP Device
Attached to PC While in F/W Upgrade Mode:
LGE AndroidNET USB Modem
LGE AndroidNET USB Serial Port
I'm worried that the factory reset I did may have ruined by USB Debugging setting, making ADB impossible. It's worth a try though.
The command "ADB devices" doesn't return anything in either F/W upgrade or in bootloop. "Fastboot oem device-info" just hangs without listing anything.

Fastboot will hang if entering a partially invalid command or if the device isn't in fastboot mode and a command gets sent to it.
As for KDZ wiping out your USB debugging settings, that entirely possible, and most likely.
As I stated in one of my previous posts, it looks like warranty service or KDZ flash will be what's needed to fix your phone. Sorry I couldn't have been of any more help.

Thanks for trying. Like I said, KDZ flash is not working, and I can't imagine I could get a warranty service with a rooted phone. Anyone else have this problem/ know what the LG Update tool's problem is?
UPDATE
UPDATE: As a last resort I sent my phone in to the LG Ship-In repair service, and to my surprise they fixed it for free! I included a detailed description of my problem as well as full disclosure that I had rooted the device. Hopefully this can be a lesson to other LG owners with an unresponsive device. Thanks to LG's awesome warranty service and thanks to user shinobisoft and the rest of the XDA community!

I've rooted and flashed ROMs on three previous android phones but I still consider myself something of a noob.
I have a SM-N910T that I've had for a couple of months. I was trying to flash TWRP for the first time. Windows detected the phone (as it always has in the past) and Odin detected the phone. Halfway through the download the process failed and Odin threw up an error message.
Now I get 'Firmware upgrade encountered an issue' with a straight boot. I can boot into download mode on the phone but neither Windows, Odin, or Kies can detect the phone as far as I can tell. There don't appear to be any 'unknown devices' in Device Manager. I've tried different usb ports, different cables, and tried both my laptop and desktop (both are 64-bit windows 8.1) with multiple reboots.
I'm assuming from this point that the phone is hard bricked, but I wanted to see if anyone more knowledgeable had any ideas or input.
Well this is interesting. I can't guarantee this will work, but lets try . . .
1st. Pull the battery from your phone
2nd. Disconnect all usbs from your computer and reboot it
3rd. Once your computer turns back on - open kies 3, click Tools, and then click Reinstall Device Driver. Once finished, close out of kies
4th. Manually boot phone into download mode (Vol down + Home)
5th. Open ODIN and connect phone up to computer
Let me know if the device shows in ODIN before doing anything.
Thanks for taking the time to look at my problem 147aaron.
I followed your steps carefully and ODIN still doesn't see the phone.

Does windows make that noise that something has been connected when you hook it up? If not, it sounds like you are going to have to have it sent in for repair.
I have now also tried installing Heimdall on my Ubuntu laptop and it also fails to detect the phone:
ERROR: Failed to detect compatible download-mode device.

No, it does not (it did before the failed flash). I figured as much, thanks for trying to help.
I'm guessing that the 'premium handset protection' insurance won't cover this?

Just checking, did you run as Sudo? Or have you set udev permissions. I always forget this the first time when flashing a phone via linux.
First check that your phone is inserted to a USB2.0 port.
Secondly turn the phone completely off for a few seconds, then manually boot into download. Don't let it boot into download mode by just pressing power!
Finally after plugging it in type dmesg in the terminal, it should show your phone connecting as an USB device.
If not post the output of dmesg > dmesg.log

Unless I reading it wrong (I'm a command-line noob as well) all USB events took place within the first couple of seconds after booting the laptop. I plugged in the phone probably a minute or so after I got to the desktop, so I don't think it's registering. [EDIT: I typed sudo dmesg | grep -i usb and scanned down the time codes on the list]
Here's the dmesg.log:

I'm certain that I never enabled anything like that, and on the downloading screen it says 'REACTIVATION LOCK(KK): OFF'
according to a quick google reactivation lock is only available on Verizon and US Cellular models..
I was talking about the one under settings and security. But if this isn't the problem then sorry idk.

Hello guys, i'm new here. First of all english is not my native language so sorry if i make any mystakes.
I flashed my phone to Lollipop. Then i tried to install twrp (with Flashify) recovery so then i could install Xposed... but the thing is that i may have used the wrong file..
My phone doesn't start. The only sign of live that it gives is when i plugged it to the PC, the pc makes the usual sound when you plug a USB. And it shows my phone as a usb with 63MB of storage (obviouly my phone has more storage). And when i go to Disk admin it shows me all the partitios that my phone has.
Also in Devices admin it shows my phone as: LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port (COM6)
Do you know what can i do to unbrick my phone? :crying::crying:
LG D410H with lollipop 5.0
Did you unlocked the bootloader before flashing twrp?
Did you tried to hold vol + and plug USB cable to enter in download mode?

You probably flashed the wrong bootloader, which is a fatal error.
I know users that managed to recover other phones from this brick with LGBoardDiag as explained in this topic: http://forum.xda-developers.com/lg-g2/general/fix-unbrick-lg-g2-stuck-qualcomm-hs-usb-t2933830
I don't know how to get this TOT file, but the same partitions shown can be retrieved from your KDZ in BIN extension with LGFirmwareExtract, I think it's just a matter of renaming the files.

I found this interesting topic, you probably can recover from this brick to allow you to enter in download mode using LGFlashTool (not the one that flashes KDZ) like this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2475045
But we still need this TOT file and the DLL for your D410H that I do not know where to find or to create from the KDZ.

also i have found not the TOT file but this thread:

I meant that will lead you to a working download mode, which is enough to restore everything, including partition table.
I have a suggestion, you said Windows detects as a mass storage unit, can you boot Linux and follow this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2582142 to see if can see all the partitions?
If yes, it's just a matter of extracting the KDZ of your variant and flashing the said partitions to get a working download mode to make a complete kdz flash.

Hello.I am in some kind of a trouble..I just bought a phone with firmware problems, hoping i could make it work. The problem is this, someone tried to update the firmware, unsuccesfully, and now it's stuck with no OS.I can only start recovery and bootloader.
Recovery is Teamwin 2.6.3.3.Already tried to clear cache and everything,to use an USB with OTG,but it's not recognised,ADB sideload also it's not working.
adb devices shows the phone is not connected, and FastBoot says "Waiting for device".Any idea? I've tried, read a lot,but I can't really work it out..
Also,I can't find the device in Device Manager, neither in ADB nor Fastboot.
I tried using Windows 8.1 and 7..Same deal.
Thank you!

First, follow instructions given in this post to install the latest android sdk-tools and the latest htc drivers. Also make sure you don't have HTC Sync installed on your computer.
Then connect your phone to you computer with the original cable (or any other cable already known to work for data transfer - some usb cable are only providing power), reboot the phone in bootloader mode by holding vol down and power. Make sure you see the red "fastboot usb" caption on the screen, if not use vol up/down and power to select the "fastboot" menu. Once there open a command window form the android sdk-tools folder and type "fastboot getvar all". Copy/paste the ouput of this command here (except the imei and serialno).
I've followed that,and still not working.pics attached.

Ok so its not detected at all
Might be caused by
a bad usb cable --> Try another one that you are 100% sure its working
a bad usb port on the computer (use only usb 2.0 ports btw)
a problem with the computer ---> Try another computer.
a bad usb port on the phone ---> need to replace the usb/front mic board
Might also worth to fix your laptop drivers problem. Might be causing problem if the "unknown" device is an adapter or usb controller...
Then reboot the computer.
I think we can exclude the first two, because I've tried 2 different USB cables, and with my S2 ,both of them are working, even ADB.I will try to replace the usb port from the phone, and then try again. But,do you think it will work ?
Thank you!

Its hard to tell, there isn't any background info about what was done on that phone. The usb board is pretty cheap so it worth a try if you are 100% sure everything else is fine (computer, cables etc..)

Normally it should be pretty easy to fix if you can get fastboot and adb connectivity. You could then update the firmware so you can flash the correct RUU to restore the phone back to stock, already made the research and all the files (firmware and ruu) you'll need are available.

Hello, I have the following problem. As in every other thing ive done to this phone (root, installing twrp, installing xposed) I always thought my model was LG-H502F. Though, my model is LG-H500F, I bought it from Greece, I recently bought Huawei P8 lite 2017 for myself and I gave my old LG to my father, he tell me that sometimes it lags and he is right. I think it lags because I uninstalled Xposed (flashed the uninstall zip using twrp) and also removed root, because he didnt need those things in his phone. The question is: Is there somewhere I can get the stock LG-H500F zip and what guide should I use? Ive been searching for a while now and can't find many topics related to LG-H500F. Thanks

just find the country you are in.
I found this page earlier but can you import the kzd file to LG Flash tool? I didn't test this but, I guess it works. Thanks for replying

yes. it will )
Hi, I'm in the same situation as Aneom7331, indeed I have a bricked LG Magna H500F and I'm trying to flashing a stock firmware. Where should I put the .kdz file in the lg flash tool 2.0.1.6? Moreover, the .kdz file has not a .dll file together with it, Thanks in advance
Someone have link to stock for h502y?
So I think I may have bricked my phone unless I can get the H811 20i KDZ file but even that may not be good enough to save it. I'll start with where I am currently at. On boot I get the error:
Secure booting error!
Error code: 1003
Modified
I am able to get into download mode by pressing the up volume key or into the wipe mode by pressing the down volume key. However, no matter what I try I can't seem to get it to reboot normally.
Here is what I did to get myself into this situation:
I stepped through the guide to install MM and then I performed the fastboot OEM unlock and booted into TWRP. I then installed SuperSU and rebooted. Then for reasons unknown I decided I would relock the boot loader and so I ran the command fastboot oem lock. I fully understand the stupidity of that thought now but didn't think very clearly at the time.
Here is what I have tried:
Using the LG Support Tool I attempted an Upgrade Recovery which failed.
Using the guide on here to return to stock I attempted the method using the kdz file for h811 10n but that fails at the upgrading your phone with the error message "Upgrade stopped due to an error". I have attempted the retry button numerous times without any change in responses.
At this point in time I am game to try anything.
:fingers-crossed:
Thanks to autoprime I am now downloading the kdz for MM and when it is complete I will attempt to use LGUP to restore it.
Well I get an error message from LGUP stating that I don't have the correct DLL for H81120i installed. I attempted to replace the dll with the one inside the MM kdz but that didn't work.

Oh I wish it were that simple. I had tried it last night but attempted it again as I couldn't remember what happened. I get an error message stating "Connect your mobile device to the USB port. If it is already connected, contact LG customer service."
At this point I think I may just need the MM dll to use with LGUP. I attempted to use an MSI packaging utility to replace the dll in the 0.0.3.23 installer with the dll I extracted from the kdz file but that got me nowhere.
I attempted to use the LG FlashTool v1.8 and found out that the dll that I extracted is ver 0.0.3.21 which is older than the msi version found on here. Does anyone know how to get a newer one?

I had the same error and sucessfully used lgbridge. You probably need to reinstall your usb drivers.
OK I'll give that a shot.
No go...
I uninstalled anything I could find related to LG. I then reinstalled the LG Bridge software which then updated the USB drivers to 4.0.4. I then rebooted my computer and attempted it again and I got nothing but the same error.

I had this exact same issue when upgrading my phone. Didn't do it correctly and it took me about 3 hours before I got my phone working again. It was about a week ago on another computer, but I'll try to recall what I did when it finally clicked in my mind.
Download H81120i_00_0201.kdz flashable zip from here (1.6GB Feb-04-16):
http://downloads.codefi.re/autoprime/LG/LG_G4/H811/H81120i/
Download LGUP and install it. I used the DropBox link in this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/g4/help/lgup-install-kdz-mm-lp-t3249803
Remember to install the LGUP_8994_DLL file BEFORE LGUP_Install
Download and install LG Bridge (for the USB drivers) here:
http://www.lg.com/uk/support/pc-suite
Select the LG 815 model, the drivers will work. I only used the LG Bridge to install the USB drivers. Nothing else.
OK, now here's where your phone comes in.
Step 1: Turn off your phone (pull the battery if you must, but put it back in).
Step 2: Hold the VOLUME UP button and plug the USB cable into your PC. This puts your phone into DOWNLOAD MODE.
Step 3: On your PC, open up LGUP. The program shoud recognize the phone as H811 in COM3 or COM4. Highlight it and click the SELECT button.
Step 4: Under the "Process" row, select UPGRADE
Step 5: Click the blank space under File Path, it will pop up a [...] [X] at the end. Click the [...].
Step 6: Select the H81120i_00_0201.kdz and click on Start. The program will push the STOCK H811 MM ROM to your phone. This will bring your phone out of Brick mode, but you will have to go through the entire rooting process again.

Woohoo!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I changed two things and I'm not certain which one it was that finally made it work but I followed your steps and installed the LGUP_DLL before the application (upon re-reading the original thread for the LGUP program I see that is the way you were supposed to do it the whole time, so much for reading comprehension) and the other was I ran it from a Win 7 VM instead of Win 10.
Big thanks to you and also to bender_007 for walking me through a bunch of stuff and recommending the VM approach.
I did the exact same thing, but I cannot get LGUP to recognize my device. Uninstalled and reinstalled drivers and all. Any other ideas?
I did the following:
Installed Windows 7 in a VM
Installed the LG Bridge software and ran in do it should update
Installed the LGUP DLL
Installed the LGUP software
Connected phone to VM
Then ran LGUP tool

same... I think it might have to do with the from that was installed when I relocked the boorloader. I'm so stupid for that.
I was trying different drivers, but none have helped lgup to recognize my phone.

first of all, how can we make PC detect our G4?
actually, even w/o any drive installed in PC, the PC should detect G4 if it works normally.
Device Manager shows my device, but as "LGE AndroidNet USB Serial Port". From what I have read this may be it's bricked mode. Is there anyone with an idea on how to come back from this?

saaaaame......
model COM Ports
unknwon [com41, xTreme 3]
Can't use Send_command too.
MM relocked the boorloader was stupid.
I had this exact error yesterday. I used cdmatool to get some bands enabled so I could get AT&T LTE with an AT&T sim and T-Mobile phone. All went well, and on my way out I figured since I had done the fastboot oem unlock, I should probably relock it. BAD IDEA.
By the time I found this article I had figured that somehow I needed to reflash to a ROM with a unmodified bootloader. This article is great! Such a rare treasure - all of the links to the necessary software and a short-but-sweet guide all in one. This post saved me hours, maybe days, of searching and trial-and-error.
By the way, since I had already installed the LG device drivers (available here) it was not necessary to download and install the whole LG Bridge.
THANKS!
Many times tried to flash my H811 to 20i but always ended with blank screen...is it have to wait until 5 to 10 minutes to get the phone rebooted after flashing with LGUP? Because usually ended with blank screen and qd mode, have to revive using qfil, imei unknown, camera and google play store always closes.
