is there "fastboot" appear?
use only windows 7 with htc sync driver and adb driver also.
connect mobile after booting in bootloader (where HBOOT is written) , then go to fastboot.
and use windroid universal htc toolkit for it.
The problem is Windows 8/8.1
I had no chance with that OS.
Windows 7 and the problem was solved...

Hey guys I unlocked my boot loader and rooted once then I un-rooted and re-locked the boot-loader and now I am trying to do it again but I am having a problem. When I have my phone connected in debugging mode it shows up fine, I can use the code "adb devices" and it shows up but then when I load into the boot loader and go into fastboot and connect my phone to my computer Windows 8 says that it can not recognize the device this is on USB 2.0 it also says "device failed enumeration". On USB 3.0 I get a message that says "The device cannot start code 10". I have un-installed and then re-installed the sync manager and mulitple drivers to no avail. Please help.
Help
Anyone?
I had this before. It's a glitch I think but after keep trying I finally got it to work and really I don't know how to fix it.
What's your hboot version? Battery full? Try a different computer? Have a linux live cd?

Yea I've tried two different computers I did have luck with one but I got as far as "fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin" and get an error that says that it cannot load the "Unlock_code.bin". My hboot version is 1.44. My battery has been full all day due to the fact that its been connected to a computer all day http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/tongue.gif

Well lets kinda rule things out. It shouldn't be your computer hardware or fastboot files because you tried this on multiple computers. Now what drivers are you using on each computer? Did you tried other micro usb cords? What shape is your micro usb slot on your device (looking at mine right now its kinda dirty)?
Complete those and it should tell you if its a connection problem or not. Otherwise we can partially assume its the software on your phone.

I have been using drivers that didn't seem to work(some that I got off some thread here) but those didn't work so I uninstalled those and then uninstalled and then re-installed HTC Sync. I have used three different cables and my micro usb slot seems to be in fine condition it doesn't seem to be that dirty.
What happens when you try
fastboot erase cache
Does the command work or fail?

I would assume this would not work as the op states that his device is not recognised in fastboot.

Incorrect, OP has got as far as loading the unlock code but fails at fastboot.

Ok so with one laptop when I have my phone in debugging mode and are in the sense OS the phone is detected using the code "adb devices" but when I go to the bootloader and put the phone in fastboot mode it is unrecognized. On my other laptop it is recognized in fastboot using the code "fastboot devices". I have not used the clear cache yet I will try it later.

I'm in the exact same place as you on the first computer, as soon as I boot my phone into fastboot my computer no longer recognizes it and I've tried at least 5 different drivers and the HTC sync thing to help with the driver, what is wrong??

Have you updated your firmware? If so, make sure your sdk is the latest version.
Use usb 2.0, usb 3.0 is known to cause problems.
Un-install htc sync but not the drivers.
Before attempting commands, eject htc sync drive from My PC.
Let me know how you get on.

Ok, my firmware is 1.26.502.12 which I believe is the latest for AT&T, I've switched from USB 3.0 to 2.0 still not working in fastboot. I re-installed the SDK yesterday so I don't think there should be an update. I have un-installed HTC sync but not HTC Driver Installer and still after doing all of this the device shows up when it is in the OS but not in fastboot. Also when I reboot my device USB debugging keeps disabling itself.
Any updates to this? I'm running Windows 8, have the HTC drivers / Sync installed.. The phone connects fine while in Windows. But is unrecognized when the phone is in bootloader. This is driving me nuts. I do not have access to another PC. I'm sure someone has this working.
Edit: usb 3.0 ports working after following the plugable.com method for windows 8 usb 3 host controller fix.

Hi guys, i'm in the process of trying to go back to stock on my HTC One,
when my HTC is not in bootloader mode my computer recognises the device perfectly, so does HTC sync manager (my htc sync manager is up to date) But when i enter fast boot so i can change some settings i get the error message saying usb device not recognised, also in device manager it says adb title which replaces my HTC One when i go into fastboot mode has a yellow error message above it,
I can't for the life of me update the adb driver either, won't work. When i'm in command prompt trying to change some settings also when im in fastboot it says waiting for device.
any help would be appreciated

This is a very known issue, Windows 8.1 USB drivers haves issues with fastboot. Use windows 7 or 8.0 and it will work perfectly. I know there is a solution for windows 8.1 using intel usb 3.0 ports (you might want to search google for this). If you can't have access to a win7/8.0 computer, use a linux live cd as suggested by tobesedated.

@tomquartey
Windows 8.1 also works fine if your on hboot 1.55.000 and up
The GPE android 4.4 update also included a Dark hboot 1.54.000 that also works fine in windows 8.1.
All,
I was attempting to reset my phone via TWRP, wiped everything and after the wipe, I'm stuck on the HTC LOGO. I can get into fastboot and into TWRP recovery. But that is pretty much it. I tried installing RUU but the computer does not recognize the phone. I tried ADB Fastboot Devices, and no devices.
Not sure what my next step is. I just want to get it back to stock.
Thanks!

Probably because you have wiped /system, the OS
I tried ADB Fastboot Devices, and no devices.

You probably have drivers issues. What is your computer OS and your hboot version? Do you have latest HTC drivers installed?
Not sure what my next step is.

Fix your drivers so you can post the output of "fastboot getvar all" and we can determine what you need to flash.
As I recall, I never had driver issue when connecting my phone to my win 7 workstation. Again, I can only get into fastboot. You think that is the reason why I can't connect via usb?
I will reinstall the drivers again just in case.

if you are using windows 7, check that when the phone is connected via USB, in windows device manager, it should be listed under "Android USB Devices" ---> "My HTC" when booted in bootloader fastboot mode or under "Android Phone" --> "Android ADB Interface" when booted in recovery. If not the case, re-install your drivers. If your phone is not detected at all by the computer, you have USB connectivity issue either because a bad USB cable or a bad usb port (PC or phone).
"fastboot devices" should output your phone s/n when booted in bootloader fastboot mode
"adb devices" should output your phone s/n when booted in recovery mode.
Hello!
I am trying to root my phone, which requires and unlocked bootloader.
Here are the steps i have completed:
1. Got the unlock code.
2. Installed adb and fastboot drivers.
3. Installed HiSuite
4. Connected the phone to my desktop (windows 10).
Here i have to mention that the pc recognises my phone, and it is listed under devices. USB debugging and OEM unlock are enabled.
5. I opened cmd in the folder where abd is installed. Checked that abd devices finds my phone (which it does).
Here is where the problem comes in. After booting phone into fastboot (using adb reboot bootloader), i tried to find my phone using the command fastboot devices.
This doesn't find the phone. If i try to unlock anyways, it gets stuck on waiting for devices. I tried the same steps on a laptop (also running windows 10) and the problem stays the same.
Help is appreciated.
EDIT: solved the problem by using a windows 8 installed laptop.
Uninstall HiSuite, it may interfere with the phone's connection. It is not used when unlocking/root.

Thank you for your reply, but this didn't work.
To add a detail, the reason i installed HiSuite was, because in fastboot mode it says:
"Please install HiSuite and connect your phone to your computer with an USB cable.

You can try using this tool to unlock bootloader:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/p9/development/tool-srk-tool-huawei-bootloader-root-t3374068
I personally used this and worked flawlessly, make sure to get the latest version of it if you do.
If you are in fastboot&rescure mode, try the command "fastboot devices" and see if the device is detected, if not try unplugging and replugging phone
