Haha something you put on it. I don't have an Elvis folder....

Seems like it is from voice recognition for google now according to the last post here. http://forums.androidcentral.com/moto-x/355672-elvislogs-folder-internal-storage.html

iPhone location log - Android edition

Well, as most of us probably heard iOS saves your location data in a plain text file... Well android does that too. Read more here: http://thenextweb.com/google/2011/0...iphone-android-stores-your-location-data-too/
Your file are stored in /data/data/com.google.android.location/files/cache.cell
Personally, i dont care. Differences between Apple and Google policies are really big, just read the provided article and decide by yourself.

Hmmmm nice to know, is it ok to delete the file? And if so will a new log be created after that has been deleted?
Back it up first. And yes probably a new one will be created.

There are 2 differences between the way Apple/iOS saves locations and how Android does it. First of all, Android will only save the last 50 gps fixes and the last 200 wifi fixes. Second of all, it only does so if you agree to it (Settings > Location and security > "Use wireless networks"). Where as iOS/iPhone logs all fixes and does so without the user even knowing about it.

I think it is okay, as long as you have another files in other system so that you can be sure that it will not deleted permanently.
there's an app in the market wich let u see the logs and perm. block them even if wifi-location is enabled
Which app is that?

Removing swype words

Hey, I tried searching, but the search function is pretty much useless with keywords like "swype"....
Does anyone know how to remove words from the swype dictionary? For instance, when I press "1" it fills in "10q" instead. And with "2" it wants to do "2moro" or "2nite." I'm not so lazy that I can't type "tomorrow" or "tonight," so I would like to take those entries as well as a few others out of the possible-words list.
Google searches have given results such as, "you can only delete words you added." I don't think that's true though, so hopefully someone here at XDA can enlighten me.

You're supposed to type the word you dont want, then highlight it, hit swype key and it'll give you a delete option. Gets tedious after a while. Id like to just edit the dictionary file manually.

Yeah, I tried that, but I can't get a delete option by pressing the swype key, unless it's a word that I added myself, like slang and vulgarities.
Do you have 10q and 2moro in your dictionary? I assume you do. Can you delete them?

If im not mistaken, I think you've already been told not to bump your own thread on same day posted. I don't really read names, so I might be mistaken.
That's the first time I've ever bumped any post, so I think you are indeed mistaken.

No, I haven't, but I have a feeling that method would only do one of two things:
1. Remove only words that I have added to the dictionary
Or
2. Remove every word from the dictionary
Neither of those will accomplish what I am trying to do, but thanks for trying to help

Indeed. I am sifting through the swype.apk to try to find where it has the built in dictionary, but no such luck yet.

I hate it when you get "ghats" instead of "that's" even when you swype over the damn apostrophe. wtf does ghats even mean?? And why is it programed into the default dictionary?

I have come across a bunch of useless/nonsense words with Swype...
However, after doing some digging, I think I've found that /assets/files/EnglishUS.zdb.le is either the whole dictionary or at least a part of it. People who want to change their language manipulate the .zdb.le files within /assets/files, not the actual files themselves (for instance, renaming Dutch.zdb.le to EnglishUS.zdb.le). So it seems to me that .zbd.le files have to be related to the dictionary database.
Unfortunately, I don't know what to do with the file.......

Any of you guys have any luck yet? I've looked all over the Swype forums, and it doesn't seem like the guys at Swype want to give users the option to delete bull**** nonsense words, even with many people complaining. I was thinking there has to be some developer who has found a way to do this, and release it on a rom.

Message pop up animation.

Hey guys!
I'm sorry to open this thread, i just haven't found anything that would answer me.
I'm just wondering if that is a way to change the animation on these popup messages.
To give you a example:
(I'm not sure if I can post a youtube video)
www.youtube.com/watch?v=nzFGMAoRrYg&feature=feedu
At 1:10, a popup message comes from below the screen and I really want it on my phone
So any one knows how to do it and if its possible?
Thanks.

I can't open the video, maybe it's from the launcher or MiUi?

I would prefer a method where i would be able to leave my build.prop as is, because then it deisplays sensation or whatever in comments section of app instead of vivd, and it just bothers me lol.

Then the only other way would be to obtain the .apk from somewhere other than the play store. And if it's not a legit distributor, it's not suggested, recommended, or allowed to be discussed here. A lot of apps you can find threads for here on XDA or other forums where the apk is provided. Others you can't
