Hello,
I've a special question. I try to get the serial number from a kindle device.
Problem:
- display frozen
- adb is not activated
- fastboot devices show a number but it's by another device not the same like in the device settings.
- with "fastboot getvar all" I receive nothing information. Looks so:
All:
Finished. total time: -0.000s
C:/.......>
Someone know another way to get the serial number?
Best regards
Ps. Also RFID doesn't work...

I have no idea what model it is, I have no forms in the box, so how can I tell if it supports LTE? I mean, actually check it out, not read about it.
Thanks.

Reboot to fastboot and then from pc "fastboot getvar all" from command prompt in pc adb folder.
You're looking for product from the list returned..... if it's an m7_UL then it's LTE or if it's m7_U then it's not.
Ok,
I am bootloader unlocked, cid is supercid with all 1's, and s-off.
Ive had a htc one x and now the htc one, did all the above on both phones without any problems.
I am running into a problem now that is making me crazy because I cannot find a good answer anywhere.
My phone when booted into android can be recognized by running command "adb devices"
I then proceed to type "adb reboot-bootloader" and it boots into the bootloader without a problem.
Now when I get into bootloader / fastboot mode, it doesn't show up...when I type "adb devices" it says list of devices and the serial number isn't there anymore and now I cant perform any commands.
What I want to do is restore stock cid, and relock bootloader because I am trying to get back to stock.
I have updated all sdk tools and they are current....its driving me absolutely nuts, and I have googled, searched, etc...and cant find a solution.
I am running Viper 4.2.2, so I am on a 4.2 rom...does that have anything to do with it? I was not thinking it was a driver problem because I have already s-offed, unlocked bootloader, all that stuff.
tried different cords, usb ports, all the typical stuff.
id hugely appreciate any ideas or input here
thanks tons in advance.
Use fastboot commands when in fastboot. Eg. "fastboot devices"

duh, ok fastboot in bootloader and adb in android os.
I am trying to get back to stock by writing oem cid back (att: CWS_001)
running into this problem :
C:\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot devices
HT346W913063 fastboot
C:\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>fastboot oem writecid CWS_001
...
(bootloader) fail: [writecid] Invalid cid
OKAY [ 0.000s]
finished. total time: 0.000s
C:\Android\android-sdk\platform-tools>
why is it failing?
Should be two underscores instead of one. All CIDs are 8 characters long.

If you don't have fastboot like suggested above, you can also found IMEI and S/N in Settings/About/Phone Identity/
Or on the back of the box there is your IMEI, S/N, P/N and also MID (listed as FCC ID)
i.e. mine says FCC ID:NM8PN07110 so my MID is PN0711000 (add two 0)
see the attached pic.
This I know, but how do I change it? How to partition the data in the phone?
