My SPRINT S4 is rooted, running ANDROID 4.4.2, NAE Bootloader, and has PHILZ TOUCH CWM installed. I want to know if it is safe to install NEGALITE R6? The install instructions say MJA Bootloader Users. Will I have a problem installing this Rom b/c I am on an NAE Bootloader? Please HELP! Thank you for the help.

First of all wrong thread secondly you should be fine if anything you may get little errors but doesn't hurt to try just remember to back up current rom

Sorry about posting in the wrong forum. Thank you so much for the feedback, it has been irritating me that I could not find the answer to my problem. I appreciate your time and feed back.

Your good just letting you know because mostly no one usely replies lol in wrong thread post and also the bootloader shouldn't cause any problems with any roms as I have mf9 on my phone without Knox counter and have flash many roms the only thing that might give you issues is modem most roms work better with the same base and modem stick to that and you'll be fine

Yes it will install and work just fine. Please contact a mod to have this thread deleted or moved to q&a. I can confirm that it will work and is a very stable daily driver
This should be changed to Q&A or the Negalite thread, BUT thanks cause this was something I was looking for and couldnt find anywhere else.

Update on advice
Hi thanks for posting advice.
I've managed to unlock the phone by using a combination of
Rooting it with Unlock Root via pc
That gave me Superuser (upgraded to pro for £2)
BusyBox Free, Titanium backup Free needed also
Then I was able to use Galaxy S Unlock to save files to sdcard and unlock to any network.:victory:
Now does this mean I'm rooted and don't have to follow all the steps that the link above advices
no need if already got busybox installed

Thanks for comments, can I ask now its rooted do I need to install anything else to allow me to change the Rom's such as newer official ones or once others are raving about.
Thanks.
updating or changing ROM was easy method but deadly also, wrong move will come to brick fone. if u really hav thought it well, juz follow any instruction on xda regarding i9000 after confirming ur device version, backed up baseband, build number n etc involve.
n now u ll need cwm for flashing. find cwm to gain access to recovery n thats where u gonna flash ur custom ROM, but read a lot before doing it as here in Q & A section, many success, also failure posted here, so be sure to read first mate

Congratulations on accomplishing your unlock. Now you might be helped with a good, rich toolbox and clear guides
I'm referring you to some wonderful threads I've come across during similar quests of my own.
(It's all there; but asking the right questions and not seeing the wood for the trees will always remain tricky )
So here are my top three suggestions for your toolbox, in order of importance and relevance. You might find some overlap among them.

As to what ROM to choose, I seriously like to push my own (eventual) ROM of choice, Mackay ROM (Unless gaming on the phone is your thing, which might bring up desires and demands that other ROMs serve even better.)
Good luck!

Hi all
Hopefully I am posting this in the right place.
I am in the process of learning how to flash custom ROMs etc. My phone is currently rooted and I am thinking of installing CWM from ROM manager so that I can update to a newer Android version.
My understanding is that if I backup my stock ROM with CWM before I flash a custom ROM I can go back to my original ROM but the kernal / CWM recovery will remain
My main question is how do I "uninstall" CWM later if I wanted to return my phone to a stock warranty state. I believe that flashing a stock kernel will achieve this, however, I haven't been able to locate a procedure and the files specific to my phone's model (GT-N7000B, on 4.1.2).
Thanks in advance

Thanks for link. There seems to be a wealth of info there. Apologies for a silly question but may I ask what is the best way to navigate this thread since there are 280 odd pages. There is a guide at the beginning, but it appears to be the oldest post. Would it be better to work from the newer pages and work backwards (from page 280). I did a quick search in the thread but did not see much reference to the N7000B. Hopefully it is fully compatible with the guides and files for the N7000.
Thanks

The first posts are updated with any newer roms and procedures, all the info is at the beginning. Personally I read through the last 10 or so pages to familiarise myself with things to watch out for or avoid.
N7000B is compatible with N7000 roms and rooting.

That makes sense. Thanks for the info. That's very helpful.
So I the SGH-I537 model (AT&T) and I'm running 4.3 on my phone. I Have it rooted with the methods listed the in general form and the root works great, although I can't find a guide to install ROMs for anyone running 4.3 just 4.2.2 I tried to follow the method in the 4.2.2 thread but quickly determined that it wouldn't work do too my baseband ending in different characters than what was provided (1537UCUBML2) If anyone knows of a thread or can link me to some information to help me get my phone to stock 4.4 that'd be great, thank you in advance!

You can use SafeStrap (3.71), a 4.3 TouchWiz-based ROM of your choice, and the ML2 modules. You should read more about SafeStrap to understand how it works and its limitations before you do anything, it's in the development section.

@Devo7v have you been able to get safestrap 3.71 to create a slot? Mine says 0 free space. I sent my recovery.log to hashcode and he says there is an issue with it not reading internal storage space. However I saw a guy over in a gs4a android development thread say it is working for him. Can you confirm or deny it does indeed work?

I'm still on MF3 (I don't see the benefits of 4.3 yet), so I can neither confirm nor deny 3.71 working or failing. It looks like @bigfdaddy2 has it almost working, so you might want to try PM'ing him.

hey guys, and gals...I really need your help. so after holding off for over a year and a half i finally decided to root my gs3 and unfortunately I unknowingly accepted the 4.3 OTA update and well, you can probably guess the rest...so here it is. i used safestrap to get around the locked down bootloader and i installed the wicked_sensations ROM and had so many issues i decided that maybe this whole rooting thing was a lost cause...then i installed the alliance ROM and it worked much better....the issue i am having is that i cannot seem to get the wifi to work or the mobile hotspot either...i flashed the ROM and the ML1 modules and well, i just cannot seem to find a solution to my problem. I am relatively new to this android rooting process and any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

is there any way you could give me more information? i dont know anything about swapping out the kernel or if that is even possible with the locked bootloader? in case it matters, i am using safestrap to bypass the stock verizon bootloader...thanks again
I haven't found any root and custom recovery for this version am I missing the thread? I have tried so please don't blast me. Also please link me a debloat ed stock rom please
Simple question
This is a very simple question, however, I have heard conflicting information. I have a TMO Note 4 that is rooted and I love to change roms constantly (going between AOSP and TW), but on occaision I go back to stock also. Now I have heard that the new 5.1.1. TMO stock version if loaded will lock your bootloader and you will loose root. I have also heard that you can restore your root, if previously rooted. Not sure what is correct and would hate to lose my root. Any answers?
