Hi everyone! I have nice news today!
Today I talked with a samsung agent from Samsung France with live chat!
I asked him about KitKat update for the Galaxy S3 4G GT-I9305! He said currenlty Samsung is developping the firmware for The S III 4G and It will be announced when It s done! But unfortuently he doesnt know when it will be availble to download because Samsung has plenty of phones !
So Surely Samsung will update the S III 4G to KitKat
I hope it's true. I'm waiting for it.
Good news, thank you.
I'll wait another month then get an s4 if it doesn't happen.
waiting

Hi All,
I just got myself a new Samsung Beam - anyone have any idea if it shares any code with the Galaxy S?
How can I open a new forum on XDA for it? It's a terrific phone but I can't find much community for it
--summoner
Where you ge it?
An for how much $?
Are you sure? I was under the impression that it wasn't yet released. Infact I haven't heard any more on it since MWC back in feb.

But they had only one from some singtel user which upgraded.
It's a realy nice phone - but it needs some OS hacking and a little froyo love
Hi Guys,
Attached is the ROM of the Samsung Beam.
It has Android 2.1, with support for flash and an internal Projector

Can someone make Froyo work on the Beam? That would be great!
Hey I see that Samsung has started rolling out Gingerbread to Galaxy Tabs through Kies, but is Sprint updated? They do not support Kies so will it be offered as an OTA update?
Thanks,
D3luSi0n4L
Apparently, the update has started to roll in Europe (Italy) but not in the US yet. My guess is that the US phone companies will need time to add their software and UIs to 2.3 before updating their customers. We might not see this update for months...
Hmm alright well thanks for the reply! Sucks to see the quick update experience ruined by Sprint ID in my case. I'm just using my tab over Wifi so I can't even use ID =P
Anyway thanks again!
Sincerely,
D3luSi0n4L

http://androidcommunity.com/samsung-posts-ics-updates-for-tons-of-canadian-devices-20120430/
Samsung Canada has finished porting Ice Cream Sandwich to a whole bunch of devices, which in Samsung press release parlance means they are "eligible" for an upgrade. Does that mean you can hit that "update" button today and start downloading ICS? Well, that's complicated.
First though, the list of devices:
GALAXY S II
GALAXY S II LTE
GALAXY S II LTE HD
GALAXY S II X
GALAXY Note
GALAXY Tab 7.0
GALAXY Tab 7.0 Plus
GALAXY Tab 8.9
GALAXY Tab 10.1
Now, for the caveats: Sammy says "The upgrade will be available today on select devices in Canada and will continue rolling out to devices and carriers throughout the quarter." and "The availability of the software upgrade and specific models upgradable to Android 4.0 will vary by market and wireless carriers' requirements. For carrier specific details, please visit your nearest carrier retailer." So basically Samsung is saying "We are done, it's up to your carrier." So after the carriers get done testing, poking, and installing bloatware, you'll get your upgrade.
This should be good news for the aforementioned Galaxy owners in other regions too. The software for different regions is about 90% compatible, so your Ice Cream Sandwich updates should be well on their way, too.
The press release isn't exactly clear on exactly who, in Canada, gets Ice Cream Sandwich today and who has to wait. So a question to all our Canadian commenters: What Galaxy device do you have, what carrier are you on, and happens when you mash that update button? Good luck!
Interesting. Well I'm not on any carrier, mine is unlocked... But I am in the UK. You'd think these things would be simultaneous huh?

Makes me wonder when will they deploy the updates for the Wi-Fi only units. It must be real soon.

It looks to me like the P7300, P7310 and LTE versions are all available from retailers in Canada. Who knows which one will come first or if they will come all at the same time.
When does this translate into a working camera on the cm9 and galaxian soup ROMs? Lol

Why would you think this when it's down to the carriers to test and countries have different carriers?

If it's anything like the SGS2 the SIM free version came out a month after the carrier versions.
thx4de heads up!
this was for SGS2 in usa (central)att, rooted but cwm not working
it d/l'ed the update last nite 5/1 & this morning when i checked, it prompted for a reboot, followed by blue colored font saying updating....
then i went for coffee.. & when i checked the 'about' nfo, it still showed android 2.3.4 gingerbread. & was prompted to wait for 7hrs till i can check it again.
dunno update failed? process 1 of multiple? dunno

International Galaxy S 2 devices updated ages ago. International Galaxy Note updating from today.
Yes i would say the update should be in a few weeks. If anything the Note is the most complicated to update due to its unique software, but its also very popular hence the urgency of the update.

I more than once quoted a link from them (Samsung) saying they would focus on their two flagship devices first (GSII and Note) and then the tablets. It makes sense they delayed the updates because the Galaxy Tab 2 will be released next week in the US. You know, they don't want an update stealing thunder from their recently (or about to as of now) released tablet. I think we will see news about new ICS firmwares next month.
Hi everyone! Yesterday Samsung has realesed official kitkat for the note 3 neo!
Anyone knows when Samsung will realese KitKat for our phone galaxy s3 LTE
I am currently using communty rom its good but battery life is very bad!
Thanks in advance
I think that Samsung stop updating our phone because it's already 2 years old. The last firmware on samsung-updates.com was uploaded 58 days ago.. And the note 3 neo is one of the latest phones

I think we can bury the idea of kit kat for our smartphone. Samsung does not know those commitments and that's really sad.
KitKat will come

Are you using the djb version of the community rom? My battery life with it was similar to stock after adjusting the AGNi settings a bit (some minor undervolting and underclocking).
Update 6-Jul-2015:
Youmobile S5 mini updates Joseph Raphael (an official YouMobile Team Member) commented to S5 mini android 5 update: "It's expected by late Q3,2015"
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
17-Jun:
According to the news on SamMobile, S5 mini will receive Android 5 before July (within only 13 days).
And the firmware for s5 mini shows that majority of s5 mini is currently having PDA of G800FXXU1ANL1, to me, this means all S5 mini are now ready to be updated to Android 5.
Finger crossed and lets wait for the big day
:victory::victory::victory::victory::victory:
Im an s5 mini user too and I just hope this update doesnt cause any issues as its working fine at the minute and the battery life is great -Ive read threads about problems its caused the big s5 , so its fingers crossed for me .

Well, for the record, it is now 30th of July. My other Samsung A3 at home has already got Lollipop update one week ago. What the hack is Samsung thinking?
Samsung releases too much devices. There are the large amount of low-end devices, the Note family and the S, A, J, O series. Samsung tries to keep up the support of this overwhelming bunch of smartphones, but that's a very difficult task. So, unfortunately this kind of chaos is "normal"...
...Anyway, we'll have to be patient and wait for an official announcement or the OTA update.
