Hi. All of a sudden titanium backup is saying it cannot acquire root privileges, ROM manager will not boot into recovery and when I downloaded SU Update Fixer for Superuser it is also saying it failed to gain root access and says try downloading and flashing an update.zip???
Everytime I try to use an app that requires Superuser rights, it says it has stopped unexpectedly and needs to force close, but the app still works!
I am S-OFF, rooted and currently running Virtuous Unity V2.39.0?
Any ideas......
did u try clearing your su log?

Have you downloaded the SU updates that have been in the Market lately? After downloading I then rebooted and SU was working again.

The only SU updates I can find is the update fixer, which is telling me I need to download and flash an update.zip, but don't know where to get that from! I recently updated the binary code to SU, or something like that, but have rebooted a number of times since then and still no joy.
Should I just try uninstalling and reinstalling again? All very annoying.....

If you're really messed up with the latest superuser and su binary, you can try flashing this which I created with the stable superuser and su binary from VU2.39. Of course, remember to turn off auto upgrade of superuser in market afterwards.

Thanks itandy, but this is how I got over it in the end. If anyone else is having the same problem, follow these steps to get you back up and running again:
o go to Settings > Manage applications > Superuser
o Hit clear Data
o Force SU update fixer, from the market
o go back to Superuser and in preferences:
o disable logging
o Set automatic response to Allow
o Reboot device
Can finish pulling my hair out now!

Ok do this, lets start fresh here and uninstall that su app. Now, go to THIS thread and download supersu v1.86 and flash it in recovery. once booted go to the su app and if it happens to tell you to update the subinary, click on "normal". It will now install and tell you you need to reboot device then do just that. you should have root now, also while you're in there you can grant permission for apps too instead of prompt.

Hi there,
I Installed SuperSU 2.36 using TWRP (following the process in Nexus Root Toolkit app) and it looks fine but when I'm trying to run some app with root permisions like XMODgames or GameKiller the root permission screen appear and I select Allow (Permitir) but when the app is trying to run some game it say No Root access... I saw the register into Supersu (even I bought the Pro Version) and it show error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported...
I verified the root permission with Root Checker App and it looks fine as rooted... even I tried successfully to re-install Supersu and update the binary and everything looks fine but all the app's that are asking root permission (and I already granted) does not work. the register show the same error message about PIE on each app...
I have a Nexus 7 (wifi 2013) with 5.0 LRX21P compilation...
Could you please help me to fix this?
Thanks in advance!
Those app are not supporting Lollipop yet. Contact their developers, this is not fault of SuperSU.

Suggestion: uninstall su - reboot - reinstall su.
Go to the play store and select superSu. Hopefully you see the Uninstall button.
I tried to reinstall supersu many times. does not appear in the menu and does not have an open button in settings.
Yes I have verified I have root access. Using Android x86 7.1.2
How do I run this app?
I am trying to run screen2auto on android auto and i need supersu ti verify that root permissions ar granted to thr various apps, so i installed supersu but it asks me for an update that doesn't happen automatically. I tried to use the apps eithout updating supersu, even granting permissions to rhe apps, these don't work in particular just activated super su Aa Io tweaker no longer works and shows a white screen. I hope that updating supersu solves the problem. Can someone help me?
Dude what are you saying? Did you ever have root?
