Update Lost Virginity with OmniROM? - Galaxy S III Mini Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is it possible to update a Lost Virginity installation with flashing golden guys OmniROM on top of it? Or must I wait for a Lost Virginity ROM update?

If you flash golden guy's OmniROM on top of the "Lost Virginity" you are going to have OmniROM and the "Lost Virginity" will removed. You are going to lose all the extra apps and functionality of "Lost Virginity". Even if the "Lost Virginity" is based on golden-guy's Omni it's two different roms. So it's your's the decision.
Btw if you eventually decide to flash Omni make a clean install and not on top of the "Lost Virginity".

Thanks for your answer.
Currently I am on OmniROM but the additions in Lost Virginity looks interesting. But the system is a little bit outdated.
I think I will stay on my OmniROM.

[Q] Blue screens and random reboot after flashing a ROM

Hello everybody
I have a Sony Xperia T, and when I got tired of the stock ROM (JB 4.1.2), updated with PC Companion to 4.3, and everything started to go wrong. While daily use, the screen sometimes turned blue and afterwards the phone rebooted. This happened approximately once a week.
Less frequently, the phone shut down and I couldn't turn it on tipically by holding power button for few seconds. Otherwise, I had to press volume up + power keys until first vibration (I read this simulates battery removal) in order to start my phone.
I thought it might be due to the new ROM, so I flashed CM 10.2, but I had the same problem. Recently, I tried with PACMAN ROM (my current firmware), but it could not solve the problem neither.
Few weeks ago I read that this bug might be a kernel issue, but I'm not quite sure. Do you have any idea about what happens? Flashing a new kernel would end the problem? In that case, which one do you recommend? My phone is rooted, bootloader unlocked and CWM v 6.04.
Thanks you all for your time :fingers-crossed:
P.D.: I attach a screenshot with kernel, build, android version...
i dont know why someone would try out pac rom, a rom without a good forum thread support. a rom which seems dead for our phone?
about cyanogenmod, i not use it...so i just can guess: maybe they still not use the new sony 4.3 kernel source...that could be a reason for bluescreens (same pac rom)?
so you have this options:
omnirom official nightlies by tilal6991
omnirom homebuilds by scanno
latest paranoid android by tilal6991
plain AOSP by Rimmer1966
these use new kernel source, no bluescreens, good user experience, daily driver material.
try out and become happy...
you can find them in xperia T forum, just look around
edit:
why you have android version 4.2.2? is that a bug? build date 1.aug 2013?
we have already awesome kitkat (android 4.4.2) roms (list above)^^

First of all, thank you for your quick reply, I'll take it account
The reason why I tried with CM10.2 and Pacman ROM is that they are not nightlies. I don't totally rely on nightiles because of the many bugs ther're reported. Anyway, I'll try with some of the ROMs above.
Finally, I would like to know if I coud stay with my current ROM and solve my problem only by flashing a new kernel.
Thank you again ^^
you dont rely on nightlies? wrong decision regarding omnirom, all on my above list is daily driver material (even the nightlies)
easy Kernelchange and keep this outdated pac rom with 4.2.2? NO!
its that simple. there is no reason to use such an outdated custom rom, no reason!
Ok, I refused to change kernel, and flashed the third one of the list: "latest paranoid android by tilal6991" (I liked a review about it). However, the problem persists :crying: And that's a pity, because I love how the new ROM looks like
Take a look to the new screenshot of "About phone". The kernel version seems to be different to the one of the last cap. Any idea?
Thanks in advance!

[Q] So many ROMs. Which one?

Hi guys! I currentl have an abandoned Carbon 4.4 ROM and I have problems with apps (can't install some apps, can't move to sd card etc), so I want to change it to something else. I see there are many kitkat ROMs out there, I just want the most stable one that has no general issues, because I see some have problems with camera, others with sound etc. Is there a Kitkat ROM for my S Advance out there that is as complete and stable as possible?
Try them and see what is good for you. For me is good Paranoid or AOSP from J-Team.

Nope, but make sure you make a clean install. Here is AOSPA from t4n017: http://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=14991&sort_by=date&sort_dir=DESC
And Here is AOSPA from Chirag_Galani: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2593631.
Here is AOSP project. (This rom doesn't have any features, is pure stock fast android): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2581768
And the gapps: http://forum.xda-developers.com/google-nexus-5/themes-apps/standard-minimal-gapps-t2012857
Choose Minimal Gapps.
Liquid Smooth is also a feature filled rom and fast.

Thanks, but as I run through comments I see many have camera problems, or wifi problems and stuff like that. Is that true or are those outdated news?
I think they didn't install clean or modified something in rom or in phone. I don't have any problems and the phone is 2 year old. Try the rom and see if u have a problem.
Ok I tried the Paranoid Android ROM and so far I love it! Hope I find no problems as I use it more these days.

Try all roms available, then choose by yourself what rom you like more or what rom meet your requirements.Roms based on android higher than 4.1.2 have camcorder bug,it is darker. If that is important for you,you should flash stock rom + debloat + cocore kernel or install Harshjelly / Sami OS + cocore kernel.(after my opinion,i recommend you sami os).

LOST in a sea of roms

Hi there.
I been spending several hours reading user's opinions about several roms for the xsp.
I saw plenty of unofficial roms based on cyanogenmod official roms. And the question that pops into my mind it's.
Why so many mods? People doesn't like the official releases?
Also I been reading that 5.1 roms are laggy, and in a custom rom i'm looking for stability and performance.
Maybe I should go for and official cyanogenmod 11 rom?
Maybe for a stock based rom?
What do you think?
Hello.
Yes, there is a lot of rom for SP. But just a few work as it supposed to.
Lollipop it is in his nightly stage, though is very stable and the most recent apps, you will be able to use.
There is too a recent patch for security, we should take in consideration, Im using myself as a daily driver without problems, nevertheless still have some minor bugs, but nothing that cant make you wish to throw your SP on wall
If you want to test and see how looks like, I would recommend Sabermod Unofficial Or CM 12.1 Official Nightly
cm12.1+ addons imo cuz it's my second full month on it and it never failed me ....no problems for me and great performance

battery is good too yep
Go for CyanogenMod 12.1 nightlies with addons...Its Best for lollipop based ROMs.
You can try unofficial CM13 also if you can use the phone without camera. Battery life and performance of CM13 is far better than cm 12.1.
To be honest, is a matter of usage and preference. For me it was working fine but my phone got way too hot for my taste, but the deal breaker was that no matter what lolipop ROM I used facebook HD playback was choppy as hell. I know that it sounds silly but that's something that I need. None of these issues exist on stock, of course (C5306 - 1.205)
I think the Sabermod unofficial takes the lead on cm12.1 ... Great battery and butter smooth. I think it' s the for performance and battery !
I use official CM11 slimmed by me, without gapps, disabled LogCat, little modified build.prop + WilliamsPLUS and I'm really happy ; p
which 5.1 rom has fewer lag and more batterylife?
@beodo
A sea of roms but many of them are discontinued or not updated, so first check that one.
As fellow members said CyanogenMod 12.1 Unofficial SaberMod with add ons is the best right now for me as well, very fast, really fluid, stable and good battery life, in is some parts is even better than the latest official stock rom.
I m using this rom for over a month and i love it.
If you need even better battery life you could use Helium kernel (just dirty flash at recovery) and enable conservative governor, if you would like to take it further you can also install xposed framework which unlocks you much more features like power saving better experience, extra customization and more.
All of the above are continuously updated and supported by our great developers too :good:

Best rom for 3T?

Wjat is best rom for Oneplus 3T and why? But I want rom where xposed is working.
No ROM is 'the best'
You have numerous options to test and see for yourself which one suits your needs the best. You can go either for stock (based) or AOSP ROMs, it's all about what you are looking for. Also no choice is bad here - all ROMs for 3T are of really outstanding quality and not a single one will let you down. Just play around for a couple of days, try out different ways to go and pick your favorite.
If it's about me - latest stock rooted with Magisk is just enough. Oxygen OS is supremely optimized and the system is almost pure Android but with all the essential flavors AOSP lacks.
Fully agree with the previous comment. If there was a "best" ROM for everyone, we would all be using it, and there wouldn't be a need for any ROM except that one. What features are important in a ROM, is going to vary from person to person. The performance and stability (often a question "which ROM has the best performance?") is also going to vary drastically depending on how you as an individual use the phone, apply further tweaks, etc.
Your best bet is to browse through the ROMs, select a couple or few that look like they meet your preferences, and flash them, and try for yourself (be sure to make a TWRP backup of your current setup before flashing any ROMs, so you can easily revert); and see what works best for you.

No i don't have, bought this phone on this week's monday. Immediately rooted and flashed twrp, Now I have Resurrection Remix, but it's little bit buggy and not filling my expectations. (Sry for bad english)
I'm looking for a really good ROM, too.
Stability, everything should work fine. Don't want to clean flash every few months.
I don't need to customize every colour of every object. Need a perfect ROM for using it every day.
Any recommendations?
best rom official rr or the one from varun himself (g+)
no rom is the best.
you have to try some of them and choose one !
i tried at least more than 10 roms + defualt kernels and custom kernels.
and compare them together and flashed best based on my usage ! ( your usage may vary and of course other roms is best for you )
but :
if your main concern is not heavy camera usage and want stability + battery + xposed , i suggest you Sultanxda CM13 rom.(which i am using now.)

[ROM][Official] Vanir & Commotio [JFLTESPR][7.1.2]03-07-2018

Vanir and Commotio Nougat 7.1.2 for Sprint Galaxy S4
Not gonna make a fancy thread here or pretend to be a maintainer or developer . Just thought some of you might be interested to know that Nuclear Mistake and DHO of Vanir team have been building Nougat for this device for a few months and are still actively building . I've been running both roms for 5 months and both run superbly . Right now the newest Vanir build is 05-09 and Commotio is 05-28 . The sweet thing about these two roms is you can dirty flash them over each other . In fact I was running Vanir until a few minutes ago and flashed Commotio over it , No issues .
Since no one has mentioned it I decided to make a thread for discussion , to help with any problems or to answer questions . I mean everybody can chip in and help each other . Commotio is more of the cutting edge experimental rom . It's DHO's side rom where new features , rom changes are incorporated first for testing so it could be a little more apt to hiccup from time to time . Very seldom have I had any issue with it but I do log bugs and stuff for DHO and he usually fixes things fairly quickly . Vanir is more of the refined rom . Both currently have the May security patch .
On to the vital info ..
Link to the Vanir G+ community is https://plus.google.com/communities/111378032131473754160
Link to Nukes Vanir builds http://www.emccann.net/nuclearmistake/VanirAOSPNightlies/
Link to DHO's Commotio builds http://www.emccann.net/dho/3-Vanir-mirror/4-nighties/
Both have substratum , everthing I use in a rom pretty much works flawlessly . Maybe you'll use a feature I don't and find an issue . If so report it here and lets log it . Both roms are gorgeous , substratum and other updates are kept up to date which is very important for substratum theming . I use open gapps and I haven't had a problem with these roms for months . Hope this helps you out there if you happen to be looking for a good current rom that's updated frequently with vital updates and monthly Google security patch for this device.
I've been running Vanir and Commotio for a good 3 years . Both Nuke and DHO are real pro's and usually out with new Android versions as fast as anyone and when you look at the rom link you'll see they build for a ton of devices .
Alrighty ya'll , nuff said for now ...

I was having a bunch of issues with this and other ROMs when I initially tried installing them from other ROMs. But what got it to finally work perfectly is flashing the stock firmware onto the phone then rerooting it and flashing it clean.
Now I use my phone is with no issues.
