I've mapped 'double-tap home' as menu in GravityBox, and would like to remove the 3-dot menu button in Exdialer. Technically I think it a simple navbar, as removing navbar (via build.prop/UDN/GravityBox, etc) works fine in getting rid of it, but then 'double-tap home' no longer works.
My remappings for double-tap back, longpress home, and longpress back all work fine, and if I map Menu to one of those I can access menu, but double-tap home no longer work for anything until I restore the navbar. Any ideas on what might be causing this conflict.

I have the latest Paranoid Android on my note7000. I enabled softkeys on the navbar because it gives me the recent apps button which I find far easier than long pressing the physical home button. However now I have two home buttons (a soft and a hard) as well as two back buttons. I was wondering if it was possible to reprogram one of the duplicates. The feature I was thinking would be great for one of these buttons are the toggles (GPS/WiFi/BT, etc). PA already gives me all the toggles I need from the notification bar, but what I don't like about it is that I need to tap twice. The first tap on the status bar brings up notifications and then the 2nd tap brings up the toggles. It would be nice to have this as a single tap. If one of the soft buttons could be programed to bring up wigitzoid or other toggling widget that would do it. Or if there is another equally fast way to bring up these toggles, please let me know. (I prefer not to have to go back to my homescreen to get to the toggles.). Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Title pretty much makes it obvious, I want to remove my softkeys, and use pie (LMT) instead, but I'd like to keep the 3-dot menu.
Adding the qemu.hardware buttons whatever it is, removes the 3-dot settings button.
I tried using The app down at Themes & apps, GMD Hide keys, it worked well, but I experienced reboots and bugs from it.
Does anybody know if there is a menu shortcut I can add to a gesture with Nova. I miss not having a menu button on the navbar to go directly to settings or launcher settings.
Yes, just create a gesture for it. I just did this earlier. Swipe up opens my settings menu.

Click to collapse
I have that already. I want swipe up to be menu. Here is a pic to what comes up on home screen when you hit menu.
I understand what you mean. I always liked having access to this using the menu button. For now I just use a gesture to open Nova Settings and another gesture for System settings.
The only way I've found is using gmd autohide softkeys. It hides the original navbar and has a way to add a menu button but I wish I could make it always there so I don't have to open it all the time.
I believe this has something to do with new Android system.
I have some older apps like nbpro or simple task switcher that don't have three dots. Is there any way on tab s2 to remap an existing key to menu key? For example, long press switching or long press home will activate menu?
I found that I can have more settings key by activating assistant menu under accessibility. Assistant menu is a cyan circle, once tapped, it explodes to show further onscreen keys. To able to assign more settings to a key off the screen or to a gesture would be nice. I am not ready to root my tab s2 yet. Or else using xposed would be handy.
Long press the back button. It brings up settings/menu
Long press back key does work sometimes.
In some app like nbpro, the menu, more options appear when I hold back key after lo press. When I release after the long press the more options disappear. It sometimes does not register very well. I don't know if it is something to do with the app or something to do with the system.
Is there a way to make the NB "icons" smaller?
Is there a way to add Screenshot to either the NB or as a quick touch button, besides the vol down/power method?
I don't know how to make the icons smaller but regarding your second question,
Quick Settings - Apps on Google Play
Fully exploit the potential of quick settings
play.google.com
this app can add any settings to quick tile. Just search for 'screenshot' and tap 'Enable tile'.
You can also take a screenshot from the 'Recents' menu. Swipe up slowly from the bottom and there will be an option for screenshot.
thanks. I'll try the app. The slow swipe doesn't work. Perhaps because I have 3 buttons engaged instead of gestures?
If you use the 3 button navigation, tap on the square one (right button) which will bring up the 'Recents' menu. The slow swipe was for if you use gesture navigation so it's the same thing.
got it
