[Q] htc one m7 stock camera - One (M7) Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hello i have an htc one m7 rooted unlocked s-off running cyanogenmod 11(kit kat 4.4.4) and i would like to install the stock htc camera app that is comes with the stock rom.. not the google camera...but the one that has all the features that htc has zoe burst shot etc.
Can anybody tell me where can i get it
Do i need to do something special to install it ? (install a zip from twr recovery for example)
i tried to search the web for the apk but did not find it.
If i download the image of the stock rom where will be the camera located in that archive ?
I need a little guidance
I can accept other camera but i want it to have the features that htc stock camera has.
Thank you!

You cant. Without HTC Sense framework and the needed Sense files the camera wont work. IT is part of the reason HTC went with a software based camera. This way it forces you to use HTC or be stuck with a 4 mp camera.

I found an application called "A better camera" and it does all the things that the stock htc camera does but it can allso take pictures in the dark without the led and still maximize the light it captures (a thing that the stock camera does not do).
So i got the things i wanted from stock rom..while using the things i love to have from cyanogenmod

HTC flash light app fot ICS (Vivid) ??

I would like to know if someone is working on a new flashlight app for the Vivid running ICS. I have found that the previous .apk file is not for ICS.
Thank you
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1559153
I don't know if it actually installs the flashlight but it gives the option in the menu.
http://www.wcxxperia-nce.com/index.php
I am using wild child's rom and it has the flashlight on it. You have to register to see the vivid forum.
Hope this helps.
The HTC Flashilight app (flashlight.apk I believe) that was posted in an early thread here still works on my Vivid since the upgrade. The flashlight app was omitted from the Vivid, but someone found the apk file from an HD2 or other HTC phone. I installed it several months back, and it works well.
Edit: Here is where the apk is located. I had installed it under 2.3.4, and it still works with 4.0.3.

app compatibility

Hello,
I have played a bit with a GS4 in a store and found out that the stock calendar app (SPlanner it is called I think) was great. Hence, is it possible to download this app and install it on my HTC One with stock ROM ? Or are the apps only compatible with Galaxy S4 ?
thank you

From what I've seen all the Sx (Snote, Splanner, Setc.) apps are only compatible with samsung devices. Wouldn't hurt to try though.
Well i found an apk but it says it failed to install on my hTC One.... How is this possible ?

The majority of the vendor specific apps rely very heavily on the framework that the vendors install on their ROMs. That's why you can't just pull out individual apps very easily.
Ok undersood thank you. now, does anyone know what i could do to instal this specific SPlanner app (the S4 calendar app) on my Htc One ?
Thankyou very much
Buddy, you must ask this question to HTC one thread -> here
Ok sorry. I'll just go down and get the S4 lol !

[Q] possible to port the 4.3 browser to 4.4.2 ?

After upgrading my HTC One from 3.4 to 4.4.2 I am missing flash support in the HTC browser. I know the workaround using Dolphin of FF, but I prefer the HTC browser.
My question is: Do you think it is possible to extract the 4.3 browser´s apk (and obex file?) and to install it on an HTC One running 4.4.2.
Is there a chance to get flash support back this way?
Thanks for your opinion,
Randolph

But this is exactly my problem! But after updating from 4.3 to 4.4.2 I can not find this checkbox to enable flash in the HTC browser on my HTC One M7... It is missing -
Do you think I have installed the wrong flash apk?
I installed the package recommended for Dolphin Browser but it is not recognized in htc browser - definitly no checkbox to enable flash...
Any chance to get this fixed? How did you get flash running - what .apk did you use??
Thanks in advance,
Randolph
By the way, the top-bar on your screenshot looks nice and interesting and different to mine: data rate, htc logo, power percentage - but no battery icon...
Flash player version see pic
Border color all stuff after sense 6 update
Battery icon hide by sense 6 toolbox
HTC logo is just notifications of get started data rate sense 6 toolbox

Is flash working on your HTC One? What site?
My HTC Oneis:
Android 4.4.2 Kernel-Version 3.4.10-gc35527f
HTC Sense 5.5
SW: 4.20.111.21 CL324876
HTC SDK API 5.69
Send me a link which you wanna test
from HTC One
Really too bad, that HTC stock browser displays the flash checkbox, but doesnot play flash ...
Flash will be around for some years and the kick it off portabel devices.
I presume, there seems to be no generic solution to bring back flash without switching to an other nrowser like Boat, Dolph or Forefox...
Anyway thanks for help & testing

Samsung Galaxy Camera 2

I recently purchased a refurbed Galaxy Camera 2. I got it rooted, but want to install a custom recovery. I went to TWRP (preferred), but they don't offer a recovery for the EK-GC200. I see where some have installed a custom recovery, but for the life of me I can't seem to find one for this device. Can someone help me with this? I'm not new to rooting on installing custom recoveries/ROMS, and not new to Samsung (I rooted my s3-my Note 4).

I came across this today. Its a custom ROM of Android 5.0 for the galaxy camera 2 and provides a suggestion for the recovery.
I HAVE NOT installed this on my Galaxy Camera 2, so I cannot speak to it, but the recovery should at least be helpful to you.
If you do decide to install Lollipop on it, lemme know how you like it. It looks like its a stock 5.0 as if it was just an android device with no special camera stuff. Not sure if Samsungs Camera App is downloadable separate, or if there is just a better camera app in the play store that would be more useful.
I am curious about this ROM, but just got my camera yesterday and dont really feel like installing a custom rom on it yet. So far thing runs like a charm with everything I want disabled and turned off, so i have no real reason to want ot change it.
anyway, heres the link:
*for some reason I cannot post the link into the reply without part of it getting starred out.
Just google
"custom roms for samsung galaxy camera 2"
and its the 4th result
The article claims you can just download from the playstore and install recovery.
2. Install the ROM Manager on your Samsung Galaxy Camera 2 Gc. Get it from Google Play Store, then install the clockwork mod recovery. You also can use ROM Installer application from JRummy Apps Inc.(Get it from Google Play Store).

The article is fake, which is pretty obvious if you do any kind of fact-checking or research and I expect trying to flash anything it links to will brick your camera. There is no custom recovery available for the GC2 yet. As far as I know, I'm the only one that has been working on one (and I haven't released it yet because the zoom/volume inputs aren't working currently). There is no Lollipop build for this device either, custom or official. To the best of my knowledge, Samsung hasn't commented if they're going to release a Lollipop build for this device or not.
The $450 price tag turns away a lot of developers to this device. I was able to score mine for $200, but I work full time and take classes when I'm not working. I can't commit to developing for this device in my spare time.
WoW! I didn't know that XDA Developers are developing ROMs for Galaxy Camera! Maybe I can try it...
Bump for this!! I would LOVE a walkaround cam like this. )

The original camera of the N6 is in system/app/googlecamera.
When you have root access.
The name is base.apk. you could backup the original and rename the HTC camera.apk.
Then overwrite.....and hope.
BTW there a lot of very good cameras in the play store, a very good one is Camera FV5.

My phone is fully rooted and i'm using chroma rom. there was no such folder but i created one and placed the apk there and changed the properties to rw-r-r. after reboot the app was there but force closes every time i run it.
If this app is pulled from a Desire HD stock ROM, it will never work on the Nexus 6. Google changed under the hood how the camera operated between Android 2.3.x and Android 4.0.x. The camera change would plague many phones, my Dell Streak included. In the Dell Streak forums was a single Android 4.0.x ROM that never made it past an early beta, simply because it was not possible to get the camera working. From what I recall the developers mentioning at the time, they would have needed to write a wrapper for the existing Android 2.3.3-compatible camera binaries so they would work with the new OS.
No one wrote such a wrapper for the Dell Streak, and it's unlikely you'll get one here. Especially as much better camera apps are available in the Play Store. Someone already mentioned Camera FV-5. I would add Camera Zoom FX to the list.
