Hi everybody the question is why or what i have to do for to have a gsm working in telcel mexico network actually my device works fine now in stock JB 4.1.2 and have 89 dbm signal wich is good but i want to install a custom rom and all of them give me a 120 dbm wich is a poor signal
what i have to do I dont want a mess the phone thank in advance

something must be wrok with your build.props need to go over them and check if its ok and that you also used radiocomm to activate gsm. whats wierd im the same network and a friend brought me two plus his which i had already actvated months before and the first Bionic was getting 2g which is EDGE with Telcel and the other two would pick up the red and and soon as i tried to edit the APN i would lose signal but the weird thing is i had lost all hope and sent them back saying they didnt work my friend said are you crazy ive got perfect 3G and HSUPA so im not sure what it could be but it has to do with the build props install Safestrap and flash this ZIP http://www.internauta37.altervista.org/how-and-patch-fully-enable-gsm-verizon-cdma-phones-android hope this helps you out.

thanks bro now I have a much better signal using a custom rom cyanogen mod 10.2.1 signal -83 dbm 15 asu very good I think I have to flash the ZIP in every custom rom for to have a better signal 3G working

Was explained 10 and more times... extract radio.img from OTA, make update-script, zip, sign (or not), flash via recovery.

Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have nothing to do with radio firmware. They are on a separate chip...

I flashed this radio about 2h ago and everything seems good so far, no change at home from 7.08 radio, let's see what happens tomorrow at work (there I have bad signal reception)
I flashed this Radio only. I don't know how it is possible but Gesture Search no longer activates with Double Flip Motion. I can't think of anything I've done otherwise that may cause this interference. Also ran a callibiration and reinstalled Gesture Search.
Anyone else having trouble with Double Flip? Please let me know. Weird.

What on earth has APN config to do with kernel?
there should have been a question mark but it got lost in rewriting I guess.
I thought it had to do with the kernel since snakehult made a topic: APN update FroYo 2.2 - Kernel 2.6.32.17
To me that looked like APN update included in kernel 2.6.32
It has nothing to do with kernel.

I didn't notice any improvement in signal reception, however WIFI seems to work better, I need to test it more

As usual it appears that this thread has been derailed by people having no idea what they are talking about, this is a RADIO update and ONLY affects the RADIO.
It does not affect: APN configuration, WiFi, Bluetooth, The colour of the sky
Please, please stop with the anecdotal responses and things like 'this works better' or 'this works worse' without actual benchmarks and proof (such as a 'control' phone) your postings are useless and just take up space.
Actually I don't know about Legend, but in others phones radio affects to almost every wireless stuff (like WIFI or GPS) because of the integration just in one chip.
On Legend Qualcomm MSM7227 (SOC) drives phone's radio and TI WL1273 drives Wi-Fi, BT and FM radio.

I tried my hand at installing the VZW ROM on my US Cellular Tab, but wasn't able to get the update working. Now the update flashes constantly. I would like to go back to the US Cellular ROM, but the backup I'd made didn't work out right.
Would any of you have/know where to get hold of the US Cellular Stock ROM?

I am also wanting to find the stock rom for the uscc gt i800. since I can't find the verizon modem file to be able to update it. I have been searching for it for awhile now and no luck. if I could find someone with a stock uscc tab how would I go about getting the rom off of it?

Since US Cellular Stock ROM is not available, I flashed my tablet with CyanogenMod, the one for SCH-I905 Verizon (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_p4vzw). It worked great : no more bloatware; no more scrolling screens; wifi connectivity came back (lost during rooting trials). You have to update the kernel as well (github.com/cyanogenmod/android_kernel_samsung_p4). Google PlayStore needs to be updated too with GAPPS 4.2 (wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Gapps).

I realize that this is old, but I thought I would pass this along: Samsung has a manual update for the US Cellular original Galaxy Tab. I have not idea if this will help in the OPs case, I though I would pass it along:

I looked all over for the i905U us cellular TAR bur no luck. It actually worked Cyannogedmod Rom on this device even if its for verizon?

No more 4G LTE, but the cyanogenmod Verizon version works just great if you want something more inspiring than Honeycomb 3.2 on your US Cellular tablet.

By the way, I have another US Cellular SCH-I905 which has not been rooted. If somebody know how we can create an original TAR with this tablet, let me know: I will be happy to share it.

Your described procedure to falsh a modem is fully correct.
Did you ever try to switch Airplane mode on/off in such a situation?
Even more did you see at all any network by using the search functionality in that case?

U have corrupted your modem during a recent flash, this has happened to me too!! just reflash a new modem..

But at your home you have again a network connection?
From where are you exactly?
Might it be an issue with base bands? 850/1900Mhz?

Hey! Hope you are all well. I'm quite desperate to find out what may be the problem I describe below could be.
I just flashed Juwe's Rom and all went well untill my phone had finished booting up. My Galaxy S i9000 doesn't register it has the sim inside. I've tried a number of times to re-insert it with the same result. I have the signal bar in my notifications with a little x above.
Any help would be very much appreciated as I desperately need this phone for business.

hey once the same happened to me when i installed sh 3.6.1, after i install my sim wouldnt register,going back to the previous version my sim worked...so i changed my kernel to fugu and flashed 3.6.1 again everything worked fine... try this might help u !!

I have a quick question. Im using a S710d which should be an Incredible S.
Does Global Mode / CDMA / GSM/UMTS mode all work?
Momentarily Im using it in china with china telecom and when Im on the original 2.3.4 Rom with 2.1 Sense It shows even in CDMA mode the reception bars for 3G and GSM as can be seen in the attachment. Internet, MMS and swapping from GSM to CDMA is all working without any problems.
Now i would like to change to another ROM with sense 3.0/3.5 no matter if on the basis of 2.3.4 or 2.3.5. I already tried all ROMS i could find on XDA and other places. All only work on CDMA. If i use those the internet doesnt work at all cause im not even able to set APN etc. Then they are roms i can install a patch to use gsm but none i can use it like it is right now.
Isnt there a rom out there which just works for everything like it is now? Maybe a rom on the basis of the china telecom rom would be great like it was big for the update to 2.3.4.
I would appreciate any help since im reflashing my phone with every rom i come accross and im tired of putting my sense 2.1 backup rom back and being disappointed.

Sorry but I cannot reply to your answers 'cause I don't know : a changelog for the baseband doesn't exist
For some reason none of the basebands that i tried (both of your's and the ones in faust ROMs, even the newest version in newest RR) worked at all for my PRO5/Carrier combo. The 3G signal was OK, but 4G was completely broken, either not working (no data) or constantly switching to 3G. When I did manage to get it working, the signal was very weak and unstable. Switching to WiFi and back usually broke it even more.
As a last ditch effort I extracted the modem.bin from the Lollipop AICP ROM, flashed it through TWRP and viola, it works! Switching to and from Wifi/3G works instantly, always have signal + data.
If anyone has a similar issue, try flashing attached baseband with TWRP. Not sure how good battery life is with it, will test the next couple of days.
Big thanks + credit to PYCON for his flashable basebands.

Anyway, with this BB u've extracted from old AICP' rom, could u provide to us a sreen shot of your phone info ? Or just the version of the BB ? :highfive:
Here is a small update after playing with the Lollipop AICP baseband a bit - the signal is mostly good, 4G speeds are very good (can get 20+ Mbps with medium-good signal). However, it takes a LONG time (up to a few minutes) to switch back to 4G after Airplane mode/using 3G.
I used the opportunity to also extract the baseband from Flyme 6. Attached it as well, will test it out for hopefully better results...
Attached is the Flyme 6.1.0.0 baseband. Also screenshots of the two BB versions running on newest RR (Newer one is from Flyme).

Thanks for this! The Dec 2017 Ressurection Remix from this thread had a strange issue where my Fido.ca SIM would only be able to get a network when my second, German, SIM was inserted... This baseband helped.

At least until I use airplane Mode - it doesn't come back from that, have to do a reboot after airplane mode. It's the same with the Flyme 6 baseband.
So I tried some more combinations: The German SIM alone works fine after startup, but it also doesn't come back from airplane mode... Using two SIMs alongside works fine - even coming back from airplane mode.
So, somewhere there's a problem with entering/leaving airplane mode - and since it happens with two different basebands, I guess the problem lies with the Ressurection Remix?
Or does the Flyme 6 or any other baseband get overwritten again by the RR one?
