[Q] I accidentally flashed wrong boot.img - RAZR i Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all,
My razr I:
Atom Rom: Link
+
Kernel: Omar Avelar M8-6
I accidentally installed AIO Mod v6 and my cellphone don't start/boot anymore.
What can I do?

Can you boot into fastboot?

Yes, I can. Cwm too.

You can wipe, and try to flash one of these...
[ROM/KERNEL] Motorola 4.1.2 - Optimized & 4.3/4.4 Goodies
[ROM] [JellyKat] KTR-ROM v1.13 + TogglesKTR v1.5 + Mods | Fast | Unique
DROID_L_ROM V1.6.1 | FAST | STYLE | SLIM | DESIGN

If you have installed all AIO Mod you have to reinstall AtomROM. If you have installed just boot.img it's enough to reflash only kernel (boot.img) then wipe cache and dalvik cache and it will work for sure.

Show this thread and use stock kernel (you can find it in this thread) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2217725 or better for performance could be omar's last one from this thread.

When your phone is in fastboot, connect it to your computer, enter into folder on your computer where you have kernel file and use adb command:
fastboot flash boot boot.img (right name of kernel.img).

OK. You have to find somebody with AtomROM, ask him for framework and systemui.apk and flash this two files. I may find one at my computer in the afternoon.

I'm sorry but I haven't found my last backup of AtomROM. So in this case I think the best way is to make a factory reset and flash totally clear ROM. You lost content of your internal SD card absolutely when you flashed AIO Mod.

I don't know what you mean with prerequests, but if you mean something like (pre)requirements I would say it's like
A installed 20A firmware
Root
Unlocked Bootloader
Installed CWM.
How to install should be like any other rom atm:
Place it on your internal sd card
Boot into CWM recovery
Choose something like "install zip from internal storage"
Choose the downloaded zip
Install it and on next reboot you will have a deodexed and zipaligned V20A
I take no warranty to these steps, but I think it should work. I would be glad if somebody could confirm these steps...
i tried to install it via cwm and after phone stays in lg logo.now im reflashing v20 euroopen, fix it please

The reason this won't boot is it doesn't have boot included, you need to have the same v20a its based on installed, this works much like the deodex for ICS where it only modifies the /system partition. Just look inside the zip, no boot.img!

these apps were DEODEXED & Zipaligned
Deodex
Deodexing is basically repackaging of these APKs in a certain way, such that they are reassembled into classes.dex files. By doing that, all pieces of an application package are put together back in one place, thus eliminating the worry of a modified APK conflicting with some separate odexed parts.
In summary, Deodexed ROMs (or APKs) have all their application packages put back together in one place, allowing for easy modification such as theming. Since no pieces of code are coming from any external location, custom ROMs or APKs are always deodexed to ensure integrity.
Zipalign
zipalign is an archive alignment tool introduced first time with 1.6 Android SDK (software development kit). It optimizes the way an Android application package (APK) is packaged. Doing so enables the Android operating system to interact with the application more efficiently, and hence has the potential to make the application and overall the whole system much faster. Execution time is minimized for zipaligned applications, resulting is lesser amount of RAM consumption when running the APK

[MOD]Android L Softkeys - UPDATED!!

Want to have the new Android L softkeys on your phone? Well, now you can!
To have these softkeys, you can download the icons attached to this post and put them into the appropriate drawable-?dpi folder in your decompiled SystemUI.apk.
Or, if you're not comfortable with decompiling apk files, just flash the attached 'Android_L_SoftKeys_Flashable_For_JB.zip' or 'Android_L_SoftKeys_Flashable_For_KK.zip' in CWM (not TWRP).
On JB and the 'Android_L_SoftKeys_Flashable_For_JB.zip' file doesn't work for you? Try the 'Android_L_Softkeys_Flashable_For_JB_2' file instead!
This zip will inject the icons directly into your SystemUI.apk. Which means you won't lose any of the other mods you may have done to it!
Oh, and this zip will make a flashable backup too! Just in case you don't like the changes.
Please note though...this zip will only work on Android 4.1 and above..
(Or, if you use Tickle My Android, why not just let the tool do it for you? I've just updated it with these icons!)
Enjoy!
Updated with a flashable zip!
Thanks

Curious. Which zip file are you flashing? And what does the recovery say when you do it?

use this recovery instead but it is a temp recovery The one posted above has many problems such as a black screen ( broken recovery ) hence I would recommend you to use this slightly outdated by very stable recovery
Well if you decide to use the second one then DON'T flash the ROM I linked you. Because the ROM is kitkat 4.4.4 and the recovery that @Prodean linked is for Jelly Bean.
The recovery is temporary so what I read is that you will have to flash it every time you want to use it. It's temporary so some useful features will be missing. I read some pages and I read that features like backup, restore, and permissions options aren't working [emoji43]
@Prodean, he asked for a recovery compatible with 4.4.x so KitKat not 4.2.x Jelly Bean.

Well every kitkat rom comes with a recovery you see... hence you would not need to install a CWM recovery before flashing 4.4.4 ROMS unlike other phones.. So I'll be guessing that he'll need a recovery for 4.1.2 so as to install 4.4.4 roms

Yes. If he fails, then install kernel from that ROM. Get boot.img (unpack zip and pull it from there), put in phone memory and install it with Universal kernel flasher (hit Play store for that, you will need some root explorer like ES File explorer or similar too).

You can try to flash the temporary recovery and try to flash the ROM I linked. If it fails to install then get the boot.img file of the ROM and put it in the phone memory and install it with Universal kernel flash:

and you will need a root explorer so just search for root browser (a black folder icon with an android robot on it) in the play store and download it.
Don't know why you need a root explorer!![emoji53]
