Hi I have an HTC ONE from Sprint.
I contacted HTC directly since Sprint was hella not cool with carrier unlocking my phone as usual.
The free methods to carrier unlock simply do not work AT ALL.
I have carrier unlocked T-Mobile and AT&T phones no problem in the past. The phone simply goes through the standard unlock process with the PIN and What not which I have now.
Do I need a Custom RUU to NUKE the complete crap Sprint Restrictions Galore and have a Standard Android phone with ZERO signs of Sprint?
I hate seeing Sprint all over on this thing it's so locked down it almost seems IMPOSSIBLE to carrier unlock it.
It supports the GSM AT&T bands so it should work.
..................................................................................
From HTC DIRECT - They Sent me the Unlock Code for my IMEI. They said Sprint has a High Level Encryption Enabled and it must be Normal Encryption to unlock it... Sprint freaks out about me not wanting to pay them Hundreds a Month for their service and won't Help at ALL.

I have worked with some Sprint HTC One's and their no different that the GSM One as far as unlocking the bootloader and flashing roms is concerned. Sprint is a CDMA service and their One has a different partition structure, so it's Critical you use only Custom Recovery / Rom's designed for Sprint.
If your goal is to unlock the phone I would use the sieempi method (choose HTC Amaze as your device).
Then to rid your phone of the Bloatware simply unlock the bootloader, flash TWRP, and flash a custom rom.

I just destroyed my HTC EVO LTE.. I was thinking of replacing it with an HTC One, but I have a couple of questions. Most threads I have read on these subjects are on a less basic level, and I need to get a grasp on the basics.
I have been seeing a lot of discussion about SIM unlocking and I am a little confused if I even need to do that. If I get a Sprint HTC One and reflash it to PP, I only need the boot loader unlocked right? If I unlock the SIM thats just for international calls on GSM networks, correct? My EVO LTE was pretty easy and I hear that the One is similar. As far as unlocking the boot loader, does HTC still send you the code through their developer portal? Is it difficult to root and get custom ROMs onto? It would be nice to get the SIM unlocked in case I travel out of country but its not high on my list. Since I am not a Sprint customer I doubt they would give me the code if I begged them.
Thank you for any help you can provide me.

if u wanna flash it to pageplus, u can do that without unlock bootloader or anything. just change PRL and DATA configuration "data profile, HA,AAA"..... also its very easy to s-off and unlock the bootloader, to install custom roms....... i had HTC ONE, i flashed it to verizon and unlocked it to T-mobile too at the same time.....
see this is my post after i unlocked it to t-mobile

AFAIK, the HTC Desire 510 (Sprint Prepaid version) is locked from use on other carriers until at least fall 2015. My question is - With unlocked bootloader, root, custom recovery, etc., is there anything that can be done to get this phone activated on a Ting account (they use the Sprint network)? Or is it just impossible because the ESN/MEID is blacklisted for the first year? I don't know how any of that works, so thanks for the advice.
Edit: Should have put a question mark in that title. Apologies for any confusion.

I have not found a way to get that done, and I've been trying for about 3 weeks. Sprint refuses to unlock the ESN because the phone was not active on Sprint prepaid for at least a year.
I have had nothing but issues with sprint and used phones. I've gone through 4-5 phones now, every one says Activation status is "clear" on Swappa, but then Sprint can't activate it due to it not being payed off and Ringplus/Ting can't activate it either (FED). I've decided to try and just bypass sprint's annoying ways.
Am i able to at least unlock this myself to work with another carrier? Sprint won't unlock it due to the non-payment issue.
However, Some guy online says he can unlock the phone and allow me to use it on Ringplus, for $60. Is it even possible to be done? (Flashing a good MEID onto my LG G4 for example?) Or is this all in vain and I have no chance of using this phone?
Thanks for any help!
The Sprint LG G4 is GSM compatible. And you can unlock it FOR FREE....yourself. All you need to do is flash the GLOBAL ROM. V1.4 Global rom for the LS991 SPRING. ........ in the development section.
Then you have a GSM UNLOCKED phone. It will work for any carrier that offers sims for GSM service. You may need to configure the APN a little, but that is relatively easy and you can get help on the forum.

Hello XDA,
Do we know if we are able to flash the firmware of another carriers to the LG G6? I remember we were able to do that with the S6/S7 so that Wifi Calling and VoLTE would be fixed for users on Tmobile using an unlocked phone (Sprint unlocked phone etc). Since they had the same physical hardware.
I'll be getting a Sprint LG G6 from my job but I have tmobile, I can get it unlocked thats not a problem, but I need Wifi Calling to work. Has anyone tried to flash another carriers firmware on their LG G6 // do we know if they are the same hardware wise? Thanks in advance guys!
Is Sprint using GSM now?

The devices have been GSM capable since the S3. NVTOOLs usually has some flags you can flip to enable the bands/radio. Of course it needs to be clean ESN with Sprint, and internationally unlocked from Sprint.
Does any one know what i need to do to get my sprint lg g6 working on other carriers sprint says its unlocked but when i put at&t sim card in it does not register

Did Sprint just say it's unlocked or did they give you a code? From what I know they are suppose to give an unlock codes for Android devices and for iPhones they just unlock them. Your phone is suppose to prompt you when you put a different carrier SIM in and once you out that code in your permanent unlocked.
Can anyone second this?
I wouldn't trust Sprint. They need to give you the unlock code. I found someone to pay to do it. There are very few.
Hi All,
My AT&T HTC desire 626 got locked to ATT carrier permanently as my brother put wrong code mutiple time with a non AT&T sim. Now even actual unlock code is not working.
I assume this phone is now permanently locked to AT&A. Any solution to this would be great. This is brand new phone out of box in a outside country. I sent it to my brother in Asia to use it but he messed up by putting some unknown code and did not ask me correct unlock code. Any suggestion would be great otherwise this phone now will be dead brick with my brother.
TIA
