I'm thinking, since our back covers could be replaced (with proper prying tools) wouldn't it be better if sammy would release replacement back covers with different textures? such as their hyper glazed covers found in S3 or Faux-leather found in Note 3/tab Pro series, or something that would provide better grip. the current 'band-aid' dotted back cover keeps on slipping. the faux leather would bring a more premium feel on this premium tab
what do you guys think?

If you need tools to open them (with chance of damage), you can be sure Samsung won't even think to release such stuff.

So I've ordered a Gnote yesterday and have decided not to put a screenprotector on it.
So I have decided to stick with a case instead!
I am looking for a case that is very slim and still offers protection for the screen (mostly from scratches as a slim case won't break a fall).
I have already searched the whats your case thread but didn't really find anything to suit my needs. The case that is currently in my mind is the melkco limited case or the original samsung folio case.
The only thing that keeps me from buying the Melkco one is that it flips open on the downside. Which would drasticly increase the phone lenght.
And I am also looking for some awesome accesoires. Just things to impress.
Fun cases or a differen case decal. Which one is your favorite?
Thanks in advance!
There are many cases for different needs.
For me the best one is Zenus Case Prestige Carbon. http://www.zenuscase.net/product-29984.html
I experimented with lot's of different cases when I've got SGS2 and I tried almost 10 of them. I've got several different types of cases along with carbon fiber ones, metal ones, combines or hard plastic cases with stands etc. I end up with one I didn't expect at all!
SGS2 same my current Galaxy Note is "thin", almost "slippery" and Note also "rotates" on it's back if you try to use it on smooth surface like table. I wanted something that will improve handling, protect the back and also protect the front WITHOUT using the screen protector (because they always ruing the image).
I end up surprisingly with gell S-Cove (that one with strange curvature back with two types of see-through plastic). Obviously it protect the back but it also helps fix the Note on the table, but it also has tough sides, so if you operate it in your hand, it's gets more sure grip. And because if it's nature it has 1mm edge over the display which doesn't hinder at all but if you put your phone display down on the table, it sits on the gell case edge and not on the display itself.
I used to put my phone display down, because I'm using LightFlow and it uses camera flash as a notification diod
And S-Case also was a winner for me, because it's yet slimmest from them all and I still can put the Note IN THE CASE to the belt pouch, which with most of the other cases is impossible because the're too big.
I hope I save you some cash, because with that knowledge from SGS2 I ordered the SCase for Note and it's simply perfect (i'm using the red one).
Cheers
Loved the SGP Ultra Thin for my iPhone.. Bet they are as good for the Note.
Ordered mine, but didn't get it yet.
I'd love to get a Zenus case but the one thing that scares me is the magnets they use for their cases.
The Zenus vintage one seems to deliver good protector to both the screen and the phone itself but at the cost of being rather thick I think..
The case that suits my needs the best is probably the samsung original flip case as it reduces its thickness by replacing the battery cover.. The problem is that the side of the leather won't stay in one piece..
There are many debates on screenprotectors in these forums but is it really necessary? I mean.. I just hate screenprotectors but don't want my screen to get scratched.. (my captivate remainced unscratched even though I didn't even had a case on it, my EVO 3D got some scratches from metal studs)

I'm using this case for few months and there were no problems with that at all.
Try full body cover from gadgetshieldz.

I wanted to replace the battery door on my Nexus S 4G with a more textured one. I came across this, which is the battery door for the white Nexus S (i9020). Would it also be able to fit on the i9023?
I'm getting tired of using a case, but if I'm not using one, I tend to drop the phone a lot cause there's no grip with the glossy back...
As I tried out the white cover for the Nexus S 9023, I have to say the white (9020) doesn't fit for it. Near the USB connector there is a small (2 millimeters) space, which is, in my opinion, not normal.
If you are interested I can share the pictures (back) with you and you can see how it looks like on the 9023.
Kind regards,
me
Please do share how it looks like, im also interesting in buying the white one, i got tired of black glossy one.
Hy, how about putting a high quality sticker on the cover? This is how my collection of battery covers for i9023 looks. I have two covers with Zagg stickers, and they improve grip and also look cool They also have a 50% sale that ends today

Not trying to hijack your thread here, but are others here sure that a cover for i9023 will not fit an i9020?

You can always ask the seller if the back fits a I9023. I came across that eBay back cover a few moments ago then found the same one in this thread, i was wondering the same question, if it will fit - the i9023 is thicker
I have purchased screen protectors from eBay for my I9023 which were made for the i9020 and it was to small for my i9023, not by a lot. So I think they might be two different sized phones.

This thread might help with the phone sizes.
Honestly, I feel the rubberized back cover will be hard to scratch or damage, so adding another layer there is somewhat pointless IMHO. However, a bumper to protect all the edges and the screen (if it's slightly raised) would be ideal for us. What do you guys think?
I'd like a flip cover (with the magnetic clip), but I feel like all flip covers are going to come with a back cover to hold it in place. Now, a rubber bumper with a flip smart cover would be amazing!
Anyways, any chance we'll see bumpers released for this badboy?
Personally, I'm quite disappointed with the accessory options thus far for the N7 considering the volume of units being sold. The I/O edition has been released for quite some time. Some of the big manufacturers (Incipio, Case-Mate, etc) should have released something by now.
I agree completely! I would love to have a bumper case that just goes around the edges and protects them with a flip cover (like the smartcover for the iPad).

Seems cool. Gonna check it out
A dream that can be easily come true with a little effort from Asus and Google
I completely agree, that's exactly what I would want. I simple bumper with a detachable front cover. Simple and slim.
Most people still haven't gotten their N7, I expect to see some "smart cover" type accessories around the middle of August.

for the front and back of the Note2. Maybe there is a version with some type of grip on the back part? Not sure but just front and back variations would be fine.
I have not tried invisible sheild but can tell you that you need to have a hard plastic protection on the front. I tried Copter first, as it was the only one available, and it sucks for our screen. After a days use it looked like an ice rink. The S-Pen marks it.
Regarding a shield on the back I think it is better to use a cover. The wear I have on my Note, after just over four months, would not be avoided with invisible shield on the back. The wear I have is on the silver frame that goes around the phone and on the end of the S-Pen. This is likely to have been caused while sliding the phone in and out of pockets.
I will be ordering a new flip cover from an online store in the UK that is super thin and that actually covers the back side and frame without adding bulk.
Bestskinsever.com it comes with sides back and front.

I have the zagg front and back and actually like it..dunno if its just me or what but ive always used them on all my phones so maybe im just used to it lol
I have this one on my Note 2. Here is a coupon for 50% off:

I have The invisisheild on mine and on my wife's S3. It has a bit of a "sticky" feel to it at first but after using it for a while it has been nice. If you press too hard with the S pen it will grab a a bit.
I am interesting in buying a case for my note 2, any questions? How about this one? This Case can make your Note 2 look like an iPhone.

Welcome to the forums. If you conducted a search, you would have found numerous threads that already discuss variations of metal cases that are available,

AFAIK, the best quality version of these aluminium cases (iPhone looking case) is the Zomgo. There should be several links to that product in the above-mentioned links.
There are also metal bumpers available, such as the 'Sweet Armor' case and the many eBay knockoff variations of it; Draco bumpers and such.
Besides which, you're more likely to make it look like an iPad than an iPhone.

I'd advise you to not get that case. The metal back reduces the signal and completely removes NFC functionality.

I recently bought a new aluminium case from eBay. However, I received the wrong one. I bought this Zomgo Ultra Thin case (http://www.casefanatic.com/samsung-2/note-2/case-galaxy-note-2/zomgo-galaxy-note-2-metal-case/):
(I think that link redirects to eBay for some reason so try and copy the link address)
But they sent me this 'KXX' case:
It feels very cheap - the aluminium is coarse, the volume buttons are stuck pressed down and the S Pen is impossible to remove without long fingernails or a tool. NFC doesn't work, as expected of an aluminium case.
I rate this case 3/10.

I recommend the bumper style metal cases though. They don't add much thickness to the phone, and the aluminium used in constructing it feels much sturdier.

My new aluminium bumper has arrived!! It took 16 days to post from Hong Kong to Australia, which is average. The quality of this case is much higher than the old one. The stepped appearance of the CNC machined case makes it look very cool, and the brushed-polished edges make it look like the S4's design, but curvier and actually aluminium.
The case has much more adequate padding on the inside (which I will have pictures of once my digital camera is recharged), making it fit much much more snugly. Although constructed using more aluminium, it actually feels lighter than my old one, because it is thinner and more tapered along the edges. The buttons on the outside actually click on this one, but they aren't recessed enough so that they can't be accidentally bumped when the edge is placed on a flat surface. The increase in width along all edges also mean that the micro USB port and headphone jack are now more recessed than before, only accommodating slim plugs without a short extender.
The disappointing thing though is that the case isn't raised along the top like it was on my S2, so the camera is still prone to scratching. But I am overall satisfied with this case - it no longer blocks NFC and I think cellular reception has improved as well. The old one was practically a Faraday cage for the Note 2.
Final score: 8/10
As you can see, I also got a carbon fibre sticker, an aluminium home button sticker and a tempered glass screen protector, homage to my Galaxy S2's accessories.
My old setup:
Update:
Comparison of new case with old case; the new bumper case is a lot sturdier than my old case.
The padding on the inside also holds the Note 2 in place better.
The case fits together very well - almost seamlessly where the two halves meet.
