I have a PIONEER 4690-BT car audio head set in my car. While streaming music over to the car stereo from my xperia z, I have observed that the audio cuts out for a second between 2 - 3 minutes of playing music. I tried the following things to correct this, but of no avail
1. Flashed stock roms from .233 to .230 to .101 to .67 to .263 and ended it with the initial stock rom which was made available with the introduction of the Z through flashtool and .ftf's available over the public network.
2. stock based roms like recent ihacker's rom and miui rom v5 based on .230 firmware also give the same result.
3. Installed and tried nearly all the players available in the market. That, a second pause is common throughout.
4. Increased read ahead value of the sd card through Trickster mod
5. Changed the IO scheduler to all the available ones.
6. Flashed custom kernels from doomlord and others available at XDA for the xperia z.
But, there is one bright spot and that is the rom cooked by the dev pabx. Only through his rom, I got continous streaming from my phone without changing any of the defaults which he had set in his rom. Yes, His rom is fantastic. Thanx to him.
The idea of posting my issue here is to state the problem regarding sony stock roms. I love the post-processing and audio effects in the stock rom. The sound is more vivid and clear on stock roms when played over car stereo speakers. I would love to play music through my car speakers with sony's post processing.
Any help in this regard will be much appreciated. Thanx in advance.

I have experienced this audio stuttering or skip in a second or 2 in Kitkat update(230).. Both earphones and car stereo.. I later researched online and found out that it was one of the bugs which was present in Google's 4.4.2.. I still don't understand why u faced a similar problem in 4.3 and below.. Try doing a fresh install, take a backup of all your apps, data and then wipe everything and then flash a stock rom and see..
I have similar problem. Is there a solution?

Hi everyone,
I have an old i9000 that is fully functioning, and has been replaced by a i9100. I'd like to re-purpose the i9000, and use it as a mp3/mkv/media player. I haven't been on these threads for over 18months, and would like to know what ROM you would suggest I should start with.
There would not be any SIM card involved, and the only data would be WiFi. I am looking for something very light, flexible (i.e. will play as large a range of media as possible), has great battery (even though I would be playing music through it!!), and it doesn't have to be anything new (so Gingerbread based ROMs would be fine).
I am hoping that there is a ROM that is made to look like a media player, and has great media cataloging, and a great media player and sounds great via headphones. Any ideas or threads where such a ROM exists?
If not, then I may have to install an old, but reliable ROM, and skin the launcher so it looks like a media player....
flash the test cm7 available for galaxy s and after that flash any music mod like acid audio engine etc.
Thanks
If anyone else wanted the link to cm7, here it is

Just to update this thread:
I have finally settled on nitr8's old GB ROM - insanity CM 057 [http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=843019]
It currently lasts me five days with all radios off (no WiFi, no Bluetooth, and no SIM card - basically, it stays in airplane mode), and is just used as an mp3 player, listening to music for about 3 hours a day & an alarm every morning.
Just what I was looking for. Thanks again for looking and suggesting anything.
Hi everyone, thanks for taking the time to look at this.
I'm having an issue where if I run any CM based rom I get "com.bluetooth.android has stopped responding" when connecting to my Mazda car stereo or my jawbone speakers. I've had this issue on every version of CM that has been out since November. If I use a stock based rom, everything works fine and I don't have any issues. It doesn't matter if I'm using 4.4.2 or 4.4.4, the previous scenario still holds true.
Any ideas what I can try in order to solve the issue or at least narrow it down further?
I really like flashing different roms and checking out the awesome features everyone has added, but I unfortunately need my bluetooth to work properly.
Thanks in advance for all the help!

Ha. I have the exact opposite problem. I have a 2013 Subaru Outback and every AOSP rom works perfectly and any stock rom has issues. Calls work fine on both stock and AOSP based roms, but media playback has always presented a problem for me on stock roms. On AOSP roms I can play Netflix, Youtube, music, etc through my car speakers but I can only get Play Music to work on stock roms. Sometimes on a stock rom, Youtube will play for 2 seconds but then cutoff the audio. The video will continue to play, but the audio is lost. Very strange.
I've searched around a bunch, and it looks like i's not an uncommon issue, but it doesn't look like there's a systematic solution. I assume there are too many variables (car makes, models, years, stereo upgrades, Nav options, etc) to be able to isolate an issue. You just have to keep trying different iterations.
Keep me posted if you find a solution.
Ok guys, let me explain you my problem:
Recently I bought used Xperia T from online store, and seller told me that phone have problem with software. I have flashed a lot of ftf files, and some custom ROMs using TWRP, and in ALL cases my microphone doesn't work, no matter how i want to use it (camera, calling, voice recording (it records noisy sound without detecting any other tones) etc.). When I try to make call other people can't hear me, even when earphones with microphone is plugged in (I suppose that calling should work well because of headphone mic). Only ROM that can make my Xperia works as it should is CM10, 4.1.2 Jelly Bean. So the problem is in software related, not hardware. So I wanted to ask you guys for some piece of advice- what should I do to make newer version of android works on my Xperia. Is there any "microphone drivers", "audio routing", or something similar, just to get some clue about where to start exploring. I cannot use PC Companion since my device is prototype unit. If you have any suggestion, please help me.

Try CM12.1 Neo for your phone. There is faux sound support which has microphone and earphone values. Try it maybe it will work.
That's exactly the first ROM I tried to install, and it have the same problem as other ROMs, even stock ones has that problem (that's really weird). Anyway, thank you for answering my question, I really appreciate that!
Little update- my Xperia T works with all variants of Xperia TX stock and custom ROMs, except camera which is totally inverted and not focusing at all. When I flash stock Xperia T kernel over stock Xperia TX firmare, problem is back, but camera works, so I think that is kernel related problem. So if anyone have some idea what I possibly can do to switch camera drivers (to put Xperia T camera driver in Xperia TX kernel). Any suggestion is more than welcome. Thank you in advance!
Hello, I own a SM-800f s5 mini.
I use TWRP+Resurrection remix marshmallow 6.0.1_r52-
MOB30R
Smallband GF800FXXU1AOC2
Well, Simply put I have an audio problem.
It occurs only on game apps. Media seems tot play fine.
For example; YouTube plays problemless. But an app like Ingress, Pokémon GO or Triple town, I get very choppy audio.
Ive been trough forums, But mostly I find Jack audio issues, or equalizer problems. Or the Nu player method.
All this doesn't apply.
I've Tried other builds, other custom built firmware but the issue is the same. Except on stock.
I don't really want to go back to stock unless I have no choice.
Any solutions out there?
I'll keep this thread updated if I find a fix myself
Thanks in advance!
Hello to everybody!
I am currently on the latest Viper rom (7.1.2) with soda kernel b1.2.1 installed. I've tried different ROMs (miui 9.2.2.0, latest developer rom, latest Pixel Experience, latest AEX mod, AOSP by jdc and some others) and always face the same issue.
I have music lag while listening it through bluetooth headset (music freezing). I've tried QCY QY8, 1more ibfree, JBL T110bt - and I always have the same problem. Most commonly music starts to lag while I use the phone to surf the Net via Wi-Fi, so it's like Wi-Fi interrupts Bluetooth connection. I've tried 4 different routers - it's all the same. But even if I am listening to music being not connected to Wi-Fi, music still lags 1-2 times every 3 minutes in average (and sometimes even more often). I noticed that it most commonly lags when I unblock the phone, so maybe it's something like lack of phone resources used on bluetooth connection? But anyway most commonly music lags when I use BT and Wi-Fi at the same time. It's very uncomfortable to use Youtube through the bt headset
I've already tried switching to other governors in KA, increased buffer parameter in Poweramp - it doesn't have any effect. Of course I made clean install of the Roms (including Miflash and format data). I tried firmwares 7.9.22 and the latest one.
Can you please help me to fix it somehow? Or maybe mi5 is just not good for BT headsets? I tried that headsets with lg g5 and xiaomi mipad - no problems.
Thanks in advance!
did you update your firmware?

Yes, except for 7.9.22, I've tried all January firmwares. I am currently using the latest one (8.2.2.), but it seems to have no effect
