[Q] Does rooting prevent you from being able to update to the newest firmware?

So, I guess we all heard that Android 4.3 Jelly Bean will be coming soon to the Xperia Z soon right? My question is that if I root my C6603 right now with the current firmware, the A.2.67, will I still be able to upgrade to 4.3 when it does come out? Also, will I be able to remove the root so that my warranty would not be voided and still be able to bring to the repair shop?
Root doesn't void warranty.

You will need to flash the 4.3 rom FTF via flashtool, when you flash a new FTF it removes root
If you flash a ftf file. They are originally signed by sony. They can flash any time you want.
Flashing ftf, will give you nearly factory state, if you flash data partitin too.
If you are talking about ota uptades.
Mostly rooting will not stop you to upgrade. Unless you did not change any thing in system partition. Like installing deodexed versions, audio packs, mods etc.
Ota updates checks system partition integrity, if origin file infos are not same in ota uptade check list, update will fail. Because ota update could not found files to update. "Basicly"
Just root your phone. Do not mess with your system partition.
When ever you get ota update notification, use ota surviveal settings in supersu or superuser application. Most of time they survive after update.

[Q] AT&T Kitkat Update "Install interrupted"

Hey,
So I was going to update my Phone to 4.4 KitKat.. This is a AT&T Phone. I've tried to update the phone twice through the check for updates section on the phone and both time it failed with this error message.
The phone was previously rooted and then the rooting was broken by an AT&T update so although I still get the Custom message when the phone boots up it's not rooted currently.. Do I have to roll this phone back to a unrooted version of the Firmware before I can do the update? If so can someone point me in a direction for instructions on doing that?
Thanks
Yes, from what I understand you have to go back to stock, or flash a leak.

Installing Lollipop OTA Error

So I decided to flash THIS on my XT1063, which currently the phone is on 4.4.4. It gave a error as shown in the screenshot. The phone is completely stock and nothing have been modified. Any solution? and I don't want to wait for OTA... AND I have limited internet so I need to get this working...
Thanks
You need to downgrade as there is no ota for build 21.11.23

Downgraded to Kitkat 4.4.4. Can I receive OTA now?

So I downgraded to android kitkat 4.4.4 because I figured I would get an OTA update for lollipop again and I would return my phone to stock, with no root whatsoever. However, I go to system updates and it says that my phone is up to date. Is there a way to get the OTA update?

[P8 Lite] Experiences: encrypted phone OTA, downgrade to get Updates

Hello P8 Lite Users,
has somebody experiences with OTA Updates when the phone is encrypted? Are there any problems, is it necessary to make a wipe before every update?
To my second question, is there any tut or method to flash back to an official version to get OTA updates again? I read that it's possible to lose OTA updates when you root your phone, in that case what is the easiest way to stay up to date, is there a official page where i can download the original firmware, to flash it via TWRP.
Thanks in advance.
Best regards,
