AOSP Gallery App

One of the things I missed was the AOSP gallery, especially since I usually disable google+. I pulled the apk off an AOSP build and signed.
Attached is the apk. You should be able to install it like any other app (runs fine for me on the nexus 6 and galaxy note 3).
Update:
To get the editor working install the new Gallery2L-signed.apk
Then unzip libjni_filtershow_filters.zip and copy libjni_filtershow_filters.so to /system/lib and chmod 644 it (rw-r--r--)
This is only necessary if you want the editor to work.

Works great.. Only the editor doesn't work. FC but it'll do.. ?

I'll see if I can pull down the Lollipop version (if it still exists?) I believe this one is from 4.4.2 which probably why (originally did it for my Note 3)

Gallery KK from the Play Store works fine.

Related/Unrelated...The Moto gallery app works with the Nexus 6. I just pulled the update from my X and put it in system/app and set permissions...reboot. Done.

there's something wrong with google? why are they taking perfectly working apps and replacing with their newer crap?

In general, the newer "crap" works just fine or better for the majority. It is people with specific requirements where they want something other than the built-in Android applications.
Not to mention most people buy from OEM's that tend to replace those apps or supplement them with their own versions.

Thank you, I'll try putting them in system/app data/app and priv app to see if any of them allow it to work.

Are the permissions for the apps 644 in the data folder or are they different on your moto x?

Updated the main post with how to fix it. Required moving a .so file to the lib directory though:

I believe you have to have the aosp camera installed as that is where it pulls the settings from.
I'll see if there's an alternative way. Do you know what shows up normally there? (i.e. what settings do you change for gallery?)

I have no idea honestly, thought I would just point it out since it seemed kind of weird.

Works for me
Although settings just keep black as well

Bootanimation not working?

Hi everyone,
Recently I've been playing around with boot animations on my C5303 (LBL, Omni 4.4.4), and I've noticed that no matter what I do, the sound will not work.
I've tried most things suggested on (older) forums, but still let me know of any ideas.

AFAIK most ROMs don't support it,
If they do, there should be an option to change it in the settings.

Make sure you have root.
Often times there will be no zip file to replace. It can be stored in /data/local if you don't want to set R/W permissions in /system/media. I recommend using this app if you don't want to risk messing with files.

i downloaded the app and noticed that it copies the bootanimation.zip to data/local with permission 0755
i replaced it with one i own with the same permission , but the boot screen is dark until the mobile boots up
any ideas ?!

If you have root, a super user app and busy box I have no other ideas, unless you're downloading a bootanim that is a different resolution than the xperia screen.
Also, you can install custom ones using that app. Just open the menu in the top right.

it turned out that my zip file was somehow corrupted
downloaded new one, replaced the old and set the correct permission
Now i've the new android 6.0 boot animation, thanks for helping mate

My booting sound still is a problem.

have you tried BAC Lite app ?!
if not, then give it a shot

I couldn't find it on the play store, and the one I downloaded is atrocious and requires you to pay to use any of the buttons.

Like I said, I downloaded the apk. It asks you to pay for everything.
Also, I highly doubt that's the problem.

New- Google Assistant for TW MM Roms.

For Google Assistant. Guide!
1. Install new google apk file.
2. Install attached Xposed apk Module.
3. Before restart your device, go to settings->Applications->Google App->Storage->Mange Storage->Clear Data.
4. Activate installed apk module.
5. Reboot device.
Voilà Done
p.s if you are using google app v 6.6.14.21.arm64, then you Don't need to install google apk file.

After flashing that installer zip file via twrp recovery the apk work automatically or should i install that save apk from download folder ?

Yeah. As stated on the instructions, just leave the apk there because the zip installer will automatically push it into your system app, obviously.

Tried the same as the instructions... It just removed my YouTube app instead... I'm on Experience ROM beta 11 and modified twrp... Anything wrong with my setup?

Then don't visit this thread. No one force you to do so though. I'm just sharing this one and as you could see on the OP, all the credits are still on @arter97

For me with this version cardboard mod did not work. App crashed.

Everybody, just follow the instructions, it works. @arter97 man you never cease to amaze me, since i9300 days. Thank you.
Ps I was using a certain patching app to run yt in background on nougat. After the installation of your apk, I patched it and voila, now I have yt background playback and yt adblocker xposed functionality.

anyone knows how to enable eye comfort mode on b584?

is there a way to do it? I have seen roms with this feature enabled and I have been googling but I can't find anything about how to do it.

Just add this line to build prop
ro.config.hw_eyes_protection=7
If it doesn't work probably you don't have the required files in your ROM......And yes....It doesn't work with Esal Kernel probably because of old patches

There is an alternative app for this, try Twilight It's better, but require space...

Maybe you don't have the lib files in your rom version.

These libs are included in EMUI 4.0.3
