My power-button appears to die in the near future so it's good to know they're that quick! Thanks for sharing!
Cool! Glad to see positive support!
BTW, where are they located?
well that's a first
I experienced quiet the opposite in Germany.
Sent my N5 in for repairs (in warranty ofc). Took them 8 days, which is reasonable, but they did not test for the errors described. Changed the memory card and battery, but did not repair what is broken. So now I'm sitting here after 8 days without my smartphone, with a broken smartphone. Thanks LG and your service partners.

I mean my mother has bought herself a S/E C905 phone and in the box there was a USB converter where you could insert the Sony M2 and then flash the card on the pc.
Why did S/E do something simular with the X1?
because m2 adapters are not common+ there is no real demand for something like that especially when you consider that you can simply use the usb cable to do what you want
get one from here its only $1.07 with free shipping worldwide
http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.7120
there are cheaper ones but this one works fine

Hell's yeah, I'd be pissed at the manufacturer if the windshield cracked at -20C! That's a manufacturing defect for sure. Unless you bought a South American car and were driving it in the Yukon.
You buy a product in Canada, it should be built to withstand Canadian weather. You buy a product in the US, it should be built to withstand the weather extremes there. Same for any part of the world.

Hello,
I have to send my phone to HTC. It's hard bricked. I will probably be charged. Do you have any idea how much do they usually charge to repair this?
Thanks

They will probably replace to motherboard, don't know exactly but somewhere between 250-300 US, if your phone is still under warranty they will fix it for free.

also you should note that since the M8 was released you can find Good used M7 on eBay and other sites for under $300 in the US. I got one from Newegg for $249 and it looks like new ->> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2702812

Actually my phone has warranty, but it has a design fault, it's bent haha. It never fell, don't know how it was caused.

This one was scanned and modified with photoshop to make it more visible
Do you think that would leave my phone out of warranty?
And I really appreciate the service from Sony which I just wanna share with you guys.
Bought my xz secondhand and after 1,5 year being quite happy with my xz, I noticed a small black dot when making photos.. (which I also have on a few photos from one year ago, but only a few and then it disappeared)
So, being on kk existenz and xzkernel v25, I went back to stock 4.2.2 (which it came with out of the box) and relocked my bootloader using my backed up TA code.
The black dot was still there, on the same place.
So I thought this must be an hardware related issue and send it back for repair.
This was what I asked for:
-The black dot to be repaired
-The rubber from the headphone flap was a bit damaged due to a lot using headphones
-And optionally I asked for an price quote for replacing the battery (since most likely for repairing the black dot issue the phone must being opened up and my battery was the original thus 1,5 years old and I thought maybe they can make a good price for it)
Check the link for reparation details.
They did it all costless within just one week!!

Just found this . As always guys please take this with a grain of salt, who knows if the sources are reliable or not but it's always great to have some hope it's coming sooner rather than later.

The article is full of mistakes so it is unlikely to be true. Considering Samsung's history of delivering late updates we will probably wait forever
Sounds too good to be true, and we all know how that goes
according to this article we already have 5.0.2!! oh wait... we kind of... don't!
5.1 update possible for tmobile edition, but only after they release the note 5. Even than they'll make us wait a few more months because cmon there tmobile and they take forever.

I have high hopes but low expectations. Luckily 5.01 has been running fairly smoothly for me with AT&T. (knock on wood)
Hello all,
As the title says, I bought this for my brother couple of years ago and now it's showing a purple tint (very obvious when running on white background) and also its like I'm seeing a double image in the background-specifically the image, in this case a guitar, as seen in the back; like it's burned in. Is this a serious issue and can it be fixed? Took it to a store and the guy, immediately told me change screen and it will cost almost as much as a new phone. Just wondering if there is another solution.
Thanks, Gary

If you purchased this unit 2nd hand, chances are the display has burn-in damage. You could try this app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mert.screenburnfixer&hl=en&gl=US) to see if it will help with the burn in issue. Please note that you should run it for about an hour.

Thanks for the answer. It's from a shop, not 2nd hand. And it happened after 2-3 years of use but not extensive. Talked with Samsung customer service they told me the guarantee is over so nothing can be done. Told them it wasn't my fault if you have faulty hardware that triggers after x amount of time that YOUR machine broke down. It never fell from his hands or anything. Anyways I'll try that app though from what I started reading online, the problem seems to be consistent with many same model phones.
