Hi all. I rooted via towelroot ages ago and some how I installed the 3 recoveries twrp Cwm and another I can.t remember. But I didn't do it on laptop. I have no pc which is why use towelroot for root.
But on here only says use doomlord kit or download recoveries and.write some code in terminal emu for recovery
I did not do any.of that I think I downloaded a rom or.a set of recoveries that just worked for.some reason. I can't.remember.
Installed custom rom. And messed about got brick fixed.rerooted but now can't get recoverys again
Can anyone help me get recoveries on stock rooted c5303 Xperia sp
Thanks you guys
Oh,yeah. Apparently flashify and other flashing apps installed recoveries but can't boot into recovery I read up & it's cos stock 0.205 firmware thing.
This is how I bricked my sp I tries installing kernel through one of the apps supposedly meant to be able.to do it but it failed wouldn't boot had to go friends download flashtool 205 global ftf and. Flash it.
Now just stock and.rooted via towelroot. Sd says Cwm folder is there as I.delete it reboot and Cwm.folder is.back???? Weird I can't.boot no recovery
Thanks for reading
Nobody got any ideas? Input, thoughts anything???
Thanks for reading.

You read everything? This will not work.
I did once but Idk how put recovery on stock kernel.
Apparently it.doesn't work I used rom manager.for recoveries it says they are.installed..but can't.boot into recovery. Tried.flashing kernel got brick Sony so fixed via flashtool re rooted via towelroot now.stuck again. No recoverys. And.rom manager doesn't do anything.neither does flashify. Or other apps.meant for this purpose. Idk y they don't work. They just don't.
So in future please read and.understand before telling me an app I already know doesn't work ( for me person)
Thanks

You can get a version of Odin that is portable from the Play store

Exynos abuse app. Works on all but the latest 4.1.2 firmware I think.
Then you can use mobile odin to flash cwm recovery or rom or whatever.

Correct, there is currently no known exploits in Android 4.1.2, nor any SGS3 specific exploits.

Good morning all!
Im looking for a way to root my i9305 on the run.
I do not have any PC nearby and also no odin to use.
I know that with my old i9100 there was a "portable" cwm zip which i could install with my stock
Recovery.
After that i was able to install su with this cwm.
And for all that i didnt use any pc or odin,
So my question is if theres any solution for me?

Use heimdall, flash cwm, then flash superuser (I used Koush's). I just did it on 4.1.2.
1) install heimdall
2) Boot phone into download/odin mode (home+power+vol DOWN)
3) Flash cwm: heimdall flash --recovery recovery-clockwork....img --no-reboot
4) Unplug USB when the bar is full blue on phone.
5a) Some people say you need to remove the battery for 10 seconds. This is so that the phone is completely off so you can reboot into recovery. I think you can just do the key combo from the previous screen though, try it and let us know.
5b) Reboot into recovery (home+power+vol UP)
6) Boot normally and transfer your prefered superuser image to sdcard
7) Re-reboot into recovery and flash your superuser
The important part to note is the --no-reboot for heimdall. The removing battery bit may not be necessary. I think once the flash is done (full blue bar), just unplug the usb cable, and boot into recovery (home+power+vol UP) should work. The idea is that if you don't boot into recovery straight away, it'll get overwritten.

Yes, framaroot can do the job.
It is so funny that people keep saying that we cannot root our phone without odin, Ha Ha Ha.
Just install the framaroot app, it is a one click root.
In addition, you can one click unroot also with this app.
Ok, after you root,if you want to install cwm recovery, you just install another app called ROM manager (from cwm), you can install the cwm recovery from that app.
Everything is so easy and no risk.

Correct, and if you want to do it another way/app:
Download Mobile Odin from Store and flash via it the recovery you want (cwm 6.0.3.2)
And from mobile odin you can also flash custom roms
And to relate to OP, NO COMPUTERS!.
I use SentinelROM and it works like a charm on my i9305 no problems at all! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2252953

I unlock the bootloader on my xperia z and then I rooted newest firmware 10.3.1.A.0.244 by following the instructions from hire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2386405 . And everything worked as it should. Than I instal recovery and android 4.3 from hire http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2354328 . Then the problems started, I tried to install app via recovery, but android did not want to boot. I decided to go back to 4.2 with 10.3.1.A.0.244 kernel, but it was no longer possible to root the phone and every time when I install recovery android will not to boot. Is there any idea about my problem. Sorry for my english
Do you want to stay on 4.2 or 4.3, just flash the kernel you need via fastboot or flashtool then that will give you a recovery to then install custom roms. As you are on a unlocked bootloader it is a lot easier to root just search for supersu cwm installation and that will root your device.

Okay then we'll look for doomlords stock kernel with cwm take the boot. Img out if that and flash in flashtool, then load up your phone and enter cwm. Flash rom you need (a lot of Roms are pre rooted. If not then once loaded new rom install supersu zip and there you are done. Kernel with cwm, custom rom and rooted device

I have searched everywhere in dozens of posts about using the CWM recovery and backup and tried several things with no luck.
What I have: sony xperia tl lt30at, rooted, locked bootloader, 4.1.2 JB, .120 build#
What I think I have: CWM Recovery
What I am trying to do: Install XperimenT Custom ROM or some ROM that will work with lt30at (I just want to make something work)
What's stopping me thus far: I can't Backup my Stock ROM and can't get into Recovery
So far i have successfully rooted my phone and I believe that I have installed a CWM-based recovery --> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2012738 I have the zip file to the ROM that I want to use but I can't/don't want to do anything until I create a Backup of my stock ROM. I tried to do this through ROM Manger but every time I try it only reboots my phone without saving the backup. I read that I could create a Backup in Recovery mode but I'm also having trouble getting there. This makes me believe that I don't have CWM installed but the code in CMD read that it was successfully installed and I have a folder for it.
My Questions: Am I doing something wrong? Have I left out a step? Is this impossible to do with a locked bootloader?
Thanks in advance!
Try rebooting the phone and pressing volume up repeatedly when you see the Sony logo. Don't bother with rom manager.
I take it you didn't read the all in one thread.... All the info you need is there

I've already tried that. It looks as if its trying to load into recovery but it just continues on to boot up.

Well you have not installed recovery then.
Read the all in one thread, especially post 2 and 3, and see how to install recovery properly.
I have a new i9305(about a month old, from tmobile if that matters). It came running 4.1.2 which I updated OTA to 4.3 official. I recently rooted, using CF via Odin. I tried to boot phone into recovery but the screen went blank. Phone doesn't cut off but it's blank as if is off. I reinstall stock recovery and it runs. I've tried to install 3 different recoveries via Odin(CWM, TWRP, forgot 3rd) but they all have the same problem. Rom Manager doesn't help and it also says I have CWM 5.x.x.x installed even when I flash stock recovery.
I've searched for a solution on here and other sites and this problem seems to be unique. I would like to know if there's a way I can either install a custom ROM without custom recovery or if I can solve this problem
Install cf root with odin .
Boot ur phone.
Go to play store and get supersu update it.
Get ROM manager from play store install it and install custom recovery from there.
Choose your model in ROM manager.
Search for cwm-recovery-6045-i9305.zip if you install a kitkat ROM flash that first.

So it's working now, I first unrooted my phone and reflashed cfroot via odin. and I tried ROM manager again but chose the gs3(metro pcs)... and it worked... maybe i messed up somewhere when i first rooted it, idk.
Hey guys,
After hours and hours of searching forums and trying things, I decided I need help.
I just bought a Z1 (yes, they're still for sale) and I wanted to update the firmware to the newest .283 lollipop. Also, I want to root my device.
I have rooted Android phones before, and I have some experience flashing Custom ROMs etc.
As I have understood I have to downgrade to a 4.4 ROM first, to get root. Then my plan was to install recovery and install .283 Pre-rooted ZIP in Recovery.
So here's what I did:
-Flash 14.1.G.1.534 firmware
-Root using KingoROOT
-try to install recovery
-boot into recovery
-install pre-rooted .283 Lollipop ZIP
-phone won't boot anymore.
I am still able to flash the newest .283 with the FTF file, but then obviously it's unrooted. I also cannot figure out how to flash recovery after flashing .283 FTF. (Flashing recovery seems to work, but I cannot enter recovery via adb or otherwise)
So if anyone can tell me what I am missing, please do!
for what i know the ftf files can't be prerooted. so download a prerooted zip file and install it from a recovery. btw if u're gonna try any custom rom, don't forget to backup your drm before unlocking bootloader. That's a must for xperia devices
Thanks. However, I can't get Recovery to work after flashing Lollipop firmware. And when I downgrade and then flash the ZIP from recovery, the phone won't boot.
I succeeded! The steps that led me to this result:
-flash KK 14.4.A.0.108 in Flashtool
-Root the firmware using Flashtool/SuperSU method
-flash Recovery using Dual Recovery (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2647487)
-Flash the Pre-Rooted ZIP in Recovery
-Success!!
