Has anyone heard of an issue that results in apps randomly exiting without any error messages?
It seems that since upgrading to jelly bean (although this could be a coincidence) apps randomly drop me to the home page without any errors. On relaunching the app it starts from scratch so it isn't an accidental home button press issue.
Just want to see if anyone has experienced anything like it and whether it is likely a hardware (need to get it fixed) or software (wait for update or risk installing a custom rom) issue.
Cheers

I never had this kind of problem when i was in stock rom [v10 or v20]. But i had this problem when i'm going back from cm to stock. I restored my stock nandroid backup i created using cwm. I did clear chache/dalvik/format system, but still my apps randomly fc or exit without error msg. I manage to go back to stock rom by flasing using original kdz file. And everything perfect again.
My suggestion, try to factory reset your rom, if it's still the same, try to reflash to stock rom from .kdz file.

I rooted my device with towelroot, and installed the Xposed framework, and now I can't encrypt my device. When I attempt to, it shows the Android dude with a gear for a couple of seconds, then it dissapears, screen goes black, and after about a minute, the device restarts and boots normally. Has anyone else encountered this?

Pretty sure you can't encrypt once you root. Or maybe it's once you put a custom recovery. I've never been able to use encryption after rooting my phones.

I ran into this myself and couldn't figure it out. I had flashed, rooted, then tried to encrypt and had the same result you did. Finally I tried flashing, encrypting THEN rooting and it worked. Hope this helps.
Hey be careful if your looking to install Safe Strap. Word for word what hashcode said
"THERE IS AN UNKNOWN ISSUE WHERE IF YOU HAVE ENCRYPTION ENABLED AND INSTALL SS IT BOOTLOOPS. IF YOU FIT THIS DESCRIPTION PLEASE STAY AWAY FROM SAFESTRAP FOR NOW."

I'm experiencing the same issue and changing the flash/encrypt/root sequence doesn't seem to change the results (encryption will not work, phone reboots). I'm attempting to root using CF's auto-root tools.
Wondering if there may be another root technique that wouldn't trip up the encryption process?
Disclaimers...
1. I know that encryption on a rooted device doesn't make much sense, but encryption is being forced down via the Exchange sync policies
2. I also know that the company might take a dim view of my attempt to root the device, but... they didn't explicitly tell me not to either
When enabling ART runtime on my T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4, the system reboots and says optimizing apps, and then goes through the apps. However, it does this every time I reboot the phone (tried rebooting multiple times). I tried a full reset and running ART runtime again, but the same result. Switching back to DAVLIK solved the problem (phone reboot normally without the endless app optimizations each time), but still, cannot do ART. Any thoughts? Thank you.
BTW, I tried posting this in the question and answer section. If I posted this in the wrong place, my apologies!! First time poster.
I know many guys gonna cry after I post but sh*t happens. Save art for L. Till then stick with what works. No proof that art does anything to give you crazy performance. Stick with what works

Did you install or update anything between subsequent reboots? If so, it's going to optimize them during the reboot occurring immediately after the installs/updates.
His description is identical to mine. Rebooting without installation of new apps has the same result. Rebooting took a very long time every time. "updating 66 apps." ART is not ready for prime time on this phone.

No, didn't install anything new. Keeps "optimizing" the same apps over and over. Such a bummer!

Hi, no, not running Xposed.
Can someone make this work on a rooted Flex? Mine keeps failing when i allow it to update. Logs complain about my prop file. Could it be because I'm running exposed? It runs thru the update , reboots showing ANDY updating, but progress bar goes half way then boots up the phone with v7. Was really trying to avoid reflashing. Thanks

So I got Android Pay today and it looks like it will not work on a stock TOUCHWIZ ROM. Had anyone had any luck using it?
After taking a quick look at what it is needs to verify your phone I'm not sure if we'll ever work on a rooted device.

I've had no luck
I tried:
1.) rootcloak - fail after card setup
2.) no device check - failed before card setup
3.) disabling su - failed after card setup
Still no luck

I got it working, but am not rooted, using stock 5.1.1 on the T3 version. Used it at McDonald's today to get a drink. Works very well!

It works fine for me and i'm rooted. I just disabled SU within SuperSU and it let me set up my cards, and works like a charm.

Stock rom, N910T3
Running unofficial CM 12.1 and no dice, Work at Wholefoods and I have been using Wallet for a while now. Pretty annoyed that I can't even downgrade my google services and get the older Wallet NFC app and why did they decide to split it into 2 apps instead of just one?
Meh....
For the Note 4 (N910T), I had Tekxodus Rom URv5. Wouldn't work. Even tried disabling SU, Changing DPI, RootCloak, etc NO LUCK! However, i decided to get the stock rooted/debloated/deodexed rom - N910TUVU1COG2.
1. Backed up my current rom using TB.
2. Flash N910TUVU1COG2 rom (https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=24052804347790828)
3. At first boot and setup, immediately disabled SU, and setup Lock Pin.
4. Installed Google Play Services 8.1.14_(2244331-238)-8114238-minAPI21.
5. Installed Android Pay 1.0.103131485
6. Open Android Pay and verified card.
7. Re-Enabled SU.
8. Restore Apps using TB.
Hope this helps.
The old wallet app works better and supports more cards
REAL bad experience with No Device Check (Xposed) on rooted N7100 Note 2, stock rom, 4.4.2.
Installed it, rebooted and immediately I noticed that all of my apps that require root had disappeared from not only the main screen but from the app drawer.
Thought that I would freeze it but Ti Backup wasn't there.
Went into App Manager and tried to uninstall but it would not uninstall.
Wanted to restart into recovery mode but the options were missing... just the option to restart which did not work. The phone would not restart.
Did a full shut down and restarted into recovery the conventional way and luckily got into TWRP and did a recovery. Thankfully I did a backup last night.
Before doing a recovery, I worked on the phone from a 99% charge down to 11%, so I spent some time with it.
One funny thing though, while going through all of this, I got an update to Android Pay and my camera app.
Right after that update, I opened AP and it wanted the code on the back of the card so I tapped the field and the keyboard didn't come up and that's when I decided to do the recovery from TWRP.
BTW, over the last few days I tried all of the above suggestions and none have worked but haven't tried them again after the update to Android Pay. I think that for the time being I'll just play it safe and whip out the plastic.
so basically you can't use a customized rom

Android pay is working. However I believe that may change with the next update of the Android pay app. Most likely not until the new year.
