What international Note roms are people using? - AT&T Galaxy Note 3 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Just curious what ROMs people are using from the Note 3 international forum? There are just so many ROMs to choose from so it would be good to hear which ones are the most popular?

Unfortunately we can't flash international roms on our phones due to the locked bootloader and kernel. But there are ways around it like you can flash the rom you want using safestrap then flashing the nc2 bootloader, kernel and the partition file (don't remember what's it called) via odin. Then you have the wake lock issue's on any rom above ne6.

The international note and the AT&T note are 2 entirely different phones. Even if the bootloader was unlocked you can't flash those roms on this phone.

It has been awhile. I still have my Samsung Impression. I keep it for a backup. Original battery and everything.

I still have 3 Impressions. Haha! Wasn't a terrible phone... Well... That SMS bug was really annoying.

Lmao I still have every att phone I ever owned. Solstice, lg vu, Motorola v3, captivate, g2, note, note 2 and note 3. stashed away in mint condition in its original box in the closet. I guess we're diehard techies. Lol great to see you here.

I was the lucky one. I never had that bug. Mine was flawless and still is.

It on happened when the SIM was filled with SMS data. If you regularly cleared SMS, it never happened. Lol

How easy has Motorola made it for customs ROMs?

Hello
Ive seen a couple of leak pictures of a Droid 5 and Im intrested but only if it has a unlocked bootloader and if custom ROMs can be flashed. I wanted to know how is this going in the new Moto X phone now that Google is involved.
Thank you
New boss same as the old boss. Still locked down in the US on AT&T and VZW.
It is not the manufacturer who is the problem with locking down the bootloaders. It is the carriers that are requiring it. Motorola wants to sell the phone, AT&T and VZW say well you have to lockdown the bootloader if you want to use it on our network. So Motorola says alright. Thats why they will offer a Developer Edition, because if you buy the phone outright at full price, AT&T and VZW are unable to control it.
But on the bright side, the T-Mobile version will not be locked down per Motorola as far as we know. So there may be a chance to find a factory restore image for T-Mobile and push it to the AT&T model and resolve this issue.
I currently am using an LGOG from AT&T and while I was able to unlock it, there were alot of kernel issues at first with the phone due to LG. But we were able to flash the Nexus 4 factory restore image via the LG software and basically have an Nexus 4 and be able to use any of their roms. Just wait for it to get popular and get some Devs behind the phone.

The only way to flash Roms will be if someone introduces exploit similar to the one on S4. the game has changed and old ways of hacking changed.

ETA Of Custom Roms

Hello Everyone,,
Well we all have been waiting for a while for this dang boot loader to get unlocked. Do we have anyone that can report any success at all yet? how close are we getting? We all know we can root with kingo which is alittle bit safer now since thier update. WE need to get this rolling i love flashing roms and providing feedback. Any one think we will get some custom roms and this dang boot loader unlocked by then end of the year!?! Feel free to speak your mind we need to start talking to each other to get this done. we only have 2 threads on here this is crazy!!!
There's a thread this been getting some attention the past couple days. It allows you to flash a ROM without recovery. Go check that out. Very risky I believe though.

Goodbye SGH-T679 (Exhibit 4g)

Well it had been an awesome 2 years with this phone, but it is just outdated and lacks speed. My wife and I are switching to the galaxy light, she had an S1. The quadcore makes a difference. And comes stock at 1.4ghz I'll miss this little phone a lot, but its time to move on. I'll still be around to answer questions but not on a regular basis.

Sad to see you go, but I understand. I had an S1 before the Exhibit and it was a nice phone. Good luck and nice to know you'll still be here occasionally.
Still using my sgh t679.
I like that it's rooted, small screen (hate the new mini tablet phones people have), and that if I lose it I won't be out 400 or so USD...
And suprising amount of apps are compatible, don't know how long this will last since i am still on 2.3.5 android.
Its so fast and it has wifi calling!!!! How I missed that.

Got it. $10 a month is really nice, but when I can get it for half that online, I will get it from ebay, maybe. I'm still waiting to hear from t-mobile about working at a store. If that happens, maybe I can get the phone even cheaper. On the T-Mobile site it's 0 down, $9 a month. Why are you paying $40?
Did you buy the phone already? QVC has it for $150 and offers financing to break up the payments without paying more. "Order two and save on shipping!"
Its not$40 a month, it was a $40 down payment. Because my credit is not the greatest.

No. It's 40 down 10/month, right? I understand about the credit. I have horrible credit, as well. I'm glad you're getting the phone. I'm very, very jealous.

Awesome. It's good to hear that it's as good as I have heard. And, I see you already know about the thread on rooting this phone. I think it's still too new. Being on the cutting edge isn't always so good. AD told me about the Light and only went to the S2 because it was already rooted. I'm gonna be patient and wait the few months until I can root it and leave it rooted-stock, anyway. At least for a little while, just to get rid of the bloatware.

[Q] I rooted ATT note 3 now I have a ?

I rooted an ATT Note 3 but I need to put a SIM from T-mobile and now Note 3 is asking for an unlocking PIN... Am I missing something? I thought once you rooted the phone you can use it on any network that take sims card...
or has this change?
please would some one lead me to the right direction for the love of god?
No I think there was a way to do this on an early build... You need to use an unlocking service should cost around 30

I did regionlockaway on my MJ5 ATT rooted Note 3 and it did not work, it shows rooted but I need to use it on t-mobile network when I insert sim I get enter PIn to unlock
As I stated I the post you quoted it will only work on MI9 basebands and earlier. MJ5 will years no results.
You will either have to contact AT&T and hope they give you the unlock code, or find a website that offers unlocking for money. There is no way around it.
