[Question] Flashing Too many Times? - Moto X Q&A

What Happens if we flash various roms too many times ? is there is any problem to device and storage ?

You can flash hundreds of times and not have any issue.

No issues, I am a rom tester and have literally flashed this device well over 100 times.

Starting with 4.4 all moto phones have fstrim. Look it up!

That is a app for lag fix. How does that answer the OP's question about flashing too many times?

Not just an app.
Why does system performance degrade witb use like flashing many ROMs? Memory fragmentation.

Reading the thread and reviews it seems the app is pretty old and more focused to the galaxy nexus and some HTC's. The galaxy nexus is a old devise. I also read a lot of current reviews on the app claming the app bricked their devices. I would be cautious of this app after reading v the reviews. I have flashed so many times and still have zero lag. So I am glad I don't really need to consider this app. I am sure on the gnex it worked well when the app was developed. No bad mouthing the original Dev. Just not sure it is still needed for our device.

Okay, sorry I guess I read your post wrong. Yes, it is now built in. I thought you were trying to reference the app. My misunderstanding.

Incorporated in 4.3.
*ahem* It's no longer an issue. You can flash away.

Smooth with MHL or HDMI?

Hi!
I've been running CM10 and Paranoid for a while and I find that I don't like the choppyness. So i switched back to CM9 for a silk smooth GUI.
As it turns out, CM9 or 10 won't work with MHL or HDMI, so switched to Team Alliance (Touchwiz).
Team Alliance is still too choppy for me.
What rom has MHL or HDMI support?
Mod Edit: I edited OP to take out Best ROM and make your question more direct. Only had to delete one line and reword the title. Only way this will stay open my friend.

Yes i know, threads like there are not appreciated on Xda, but I'm really tired of reflashing right now.

If you know these threads aren't appreciated, why would you create it? Tired of reflashing?....sell your Note and buy an Iphone. Problem solved.

Such threads are not allowed. Reported.
True Story. "Best ROM" threads are almost always closed on sight. In this case, I am going to edit your OP to reflect your real question about MHL and HDMI and take out the Best ROM-iness.
Choppiness is mostly User issues and can generally be cleared up with some troubleshooting like OC/UV, HW overlays,....
Thread stays open for the time being but if it gets back to Best ROM, then it gets the axe. Cool?

Well, I've been on xda for about five years. Enough to know that if I stay out of the loop for a month, almost everything changes. I do not have the time to check out everything and look for specific features, i just want my phone to work.

As i understand the choppiness is due to some driver issue with JB?

Any stock touchwizz (based) rom will have MHL support.
e.g. RocketRom.

[Q] Auto Created "/sdcard/0" After Installing Trickdroid 6?

hello everyone, I installed Trickdroid 6 a few days ago and noticed that it created a new folder - "/sdcard/0". Inside "/sdcard" there is the default Android system files.... but inside "/sdcard/0" there are the same system files... It seems as though after installing the new Trickdroid ROM, it boots/runs on "sdcard/0" instead of just "sdcard" as it did before I installed the ROM. I've ran several tests, including Quadrant and Linpack and everything seems to be running perfectly normal. I'm only wondering if this is OK, or did I do something wrong? I've even lost ROOT access afterwards, but managed to get it back doing a whole bunch of stuff. I want to delete the "0" folder and boot the ROM off of the regular "/sdcard" folder if it's possible. If I can't, it's no big deal. I was just wondering. Thanks in advance!

/sdcard/0 is now the default location for your files in 4.2.2 due do 4.2.2 having multi account support so you should move all your files into that directory.
ohhh thanks man. I had a feeling it had to do with 4.2.2 base, but I needed confirmation. Thanks a billion!

True, I'm just saying we had to deal with all this last year when 4.2 dropped. Had everyone taken an interest in from the beginning it wouldn't be so much of a surprise now!
BTW, that post above is quite something! I mean, WOW...

They do if they're too lazy to take an interest in Android as a whole. Isn't that why we're all here in the first place? Our love of all things Android? I go to all forums on here and contribute and look to increase my knowledge by reading articles and taking in things people say - not just dive head first into something I have no idea about and then cry about it once I've screwed up
As for waffle, that's your opinion. I'll be here permanently in a month or so once I get my One

I wonder if the root method for your phone will work for this phone. Do you guys use odin on your devices?
Just incase anyone else looks here for the same info I was looking for. With the help of now knowing the model #. I was able to find some dev info in the S3 mini section.

Those two links I posted above are for the t599 just they are in the s3 mini forum. The t599 already has root and cwm working. Xda just sucks for making forums for things so people end up making threads in forums for other devices.

Thats the problem with battery technology. It hasnt advanced at all. The only way to make a battery with more power is to increase its size. The best battery life I have ever had is with my current device, the note 2. Its huge and powerful but because its so big they can put a large battery in it. Smaller devices how ever will always be stuck with small batteries. I wish that someone would say "ok phones are extremely powerful, now maybe we should look into making batteries able to hold more juice without making them larger. "

Lots of lag

Hello. I am wondering if anyone else is experiencing studders while using the Note 4. It seems like its mostly the keyboard and in the tw ui. I know this shouldn't be happening with the amount of RAM and 805 processor.
No lag here. Prolly some rogue app you have.

Are you rooted and have xposed installed? If so, read this: http://gs5.wonderhowto.com/how-to/f...es-when-using-xposed-your-galaxy-s5-0157344/#
I had the exact same problem, and this solved it 100%. And the beauty is, you can reinstall xposed and it's still perfect.

So you seem to own the Moto X and Xperia Z3 as well. And from your post history, you have issues with those too lol. Are you using all three phones?
I get review units and I try to report all bugs I find. I just odined back to stock and the lag seems isolated to the keyboard now.

Sounds like trolling to me. There are already approximately 5 other threads on this topic already. You should at least try to participate in one of those instead of starting a new thread.
I have no lag.
Lot of threads on lags....I really wish people would just stay with those threads...even if you are asking the same question, atleast will all be in one place...
I had lots and lots of lag... I unmounted my SD card, disabled the always WIFI thing (not sure what its called).. and lastly I manually searched for tmobile network and selected it.
Then.. NO MORE LAG. It worked for me. so I am really happy now.

There's something wrong with your phone if it's lags on stock. Especially the keyboard. I've had mine for about a week now with no lag whatsoever.

[Q] Gaming lag

A few days ago I upgraded from the Note 3 to the Nexus 6 (LRX22C - Tmobile). I have a handful of games that I love to play like Madden NFL and Brave Frontier. These games worked flawlessly on my less powerful Note 3. For whatever reason, these games lag like hell on the N6 and its driving me nuts.
I have already rooted and disabled the forced encryption and it made no difference so that isnt the cause. I have a feeling there is something going on with either Adreno or ART compatibility.
Is there any way I can fix this performance lag in games? I'm sort of ticked I just spent all this money and have a less powerful device. It feels like I was falsely advertised or something...
:crying:
*** Update ***
I have taken the liberty to put on a custom ROM to test with. With any luck the games will start working as expected. I'll post back my results everyone. Wish me luck!
*** Update ***
On the Euphoria ROM its a little bit better, It still lags but not as much, so its a step in the right direction. I'll test some other stuff and let you guys know. FYI this was tested on Madden.

I've went about it ROM side and RIPng went about it kernel side and we found that the problem is the apps themselves. Doing too much GPU on the main thread, all kinds of issues in the game code calling the wrong APIs

I know testing magic 2015, it hung in the background still using up CPU like I was still playing it so I wouldn't be surprised that the other games would be chewing up battery too. During the preview, apps that weren't updated for it, lagged and chewed up the battery.
I figured we would run into the same issues with the nexus 6 before I even bought it because the other devices still have some backwards compatibility with kit Kat even though they are on lollipop now. A new device is started clean and tailored specifically for the firmware they are made for
