YouTube HD Playback question... - LG Optimus L90

Is there a way to force YouTube to play at least 480p by default?
Even on 4g it plays at 240p or 360p and takes forever to change to 480p..
Any ideas on what I can do?

Do you have unchecked the option in youtube settings that allows for HD videos only via Wi-Fi? When I try to play any video via 3G it normally plays at 360p but i can manually change that to 480p and after this every video is played from start at 480p until i close app. Whatsoever, probably there's no option to make this setting default and active after the app is closed. You can try to use different app to play youtube videos.

[Q] Problem with video player

My video player could play .mkv & .mp4. But there is no audio for it.
could any one please solve this problem.
i have a lot of high definition videos, could not watch them with no audio
you have to make sure it's encoded properly with compatible bit rates and formats
suggestion use DivX to encode
Do you have any videos of 720p which you could play on your sgs?
Sent from my GT-I9000 using XDA App
download any of the ones from YouTube
or the sample Samsung videos
or any DVD you rip from you rown discs
Firstly, try to shoot a 720p video using your SGS' Video Camera app and see if it will play with sounds. (of course you need to record something with sounds )
the vid will be in .3gp format. let's start from there..
It's most likely a codec issue. Re-encode the sound stream (Virtualdub I believe can do that)
yes i had recorded video at 720p & it is prefectly fine
how to get subtitles in a movie??
is there any app or the default video player can show it??

[SOLVED] How to play HD video (720p) on N1?

Is there a way to play HD video (720p) on the Nexus One? I have tried some apps off the Market to play these videos but it comes up laggy. The file I was trying to play was an .mp4 file. The default Video app can't play mp4 files and the Market apps lag when playing it. Anyone successfully have HD video playing without lag??? Also, is there a recommended format/codec for the Nexus One?
It's not the resolution of the video per se, but rather the bit-rate that would be causing playback to lag. Bear in mind that 720 is unnecessary anyway as the phone is effectively 480 in landscape.
Use the free software Handbrake to re-encode to a more appropriate bit-rate and resolution.
Thanks. I will use FormatFactory to lower the nitrate.
I'm also a fan of Half Life 2 too.

Yes, It is possible to play 720p videos on nexus on. Actually its chipset supports. you can use mxplayer, it's my favorite player; also, you should convert your video to .mp4 and use H/W decoder. H/W decoder is not supported for other formats like flv.

[Q] playing HD videos on Youtube?

I would like to know how can i play HD videos on youtube like on a normal PC where we can choose to play 720p videos on youtube instead of 360p..I know there is this HQ button but the quality is still very bad..
Not sure how to do it with the andriod app but I open youtube with the browser as a desktop site so I can play it at 720p

Youtube plays videos in 240P.

Is it just me or is everyone unable to play videos in the usual 360p quality. I only get 240p videos even though I have enabled HQ playback.
NVM, found it 3 seconds after clicking post.
Go to Themes and Apps section. Someone has already found a fix.

Photos doesn't honor default video player

I've had a problem almost since the beginning where video shoot on the N6 plays back very jerky using the default video player in Photos. Never been able to figure out why, but changing the default player to MX or VLC fixes the playback issue... for a time. The problem is that at some point videos I click in Photos stop opening with MX player and go back to the default player. And the video gets jerky again. I have not been able to figure out how to force Photos to actually use the default video app. Any ideas? BTW, Photos doesn't let you "clear defaults" like other apps I don't think. At least that doesn't work for me.
Thanks.
