[Q] I want to update my Xperia TX via PC Companion, but I have a question

Hello everyone, My question is - " Will I be able to disconnect the USB connection when PC companion is downloading the latest firmware? "
But I will connect when the Update precess will start after download completed.
Is that okay? Or disconnecting at downloading time will create any problem. I hope you understand what I'm trying to say.

Why do you want to disconnect it?
Jus run pccompanion update and connect it when prompted to.
If you disconnect them phone before the process is finished of course it will not work

if its the official way, both are ok
Just don't do it if you have unlocked the bootloader

.284 phone turns on when trying to charge while off

in a .284 firmware file on xda forum chargemon was missing. phonme turned on while trying to charge in off.
flash this .284 ftf from xda then from sus or pc companion re check for updates
it will show an update available. this is just the .284 with chargemon. update from sus or pc companion and phone will charge while in off

Thanks a lot, mate!! :highfive: this is the prob i was experiencing fr a long time. Now I know why :victory:

could you please create a FTF of the 284 with chargemon files?
I don't have access to windows and hence cannot install PC companion.

ok. i'll try to give you the link by tomorrow

After installing the FTF from XDA i updated the phone from PC and it updated successfully. But still the phone keeps turning on when charging in OFF mode. Is there a file that can be replaced manually????

i flashed with flashtool and i got same problem with you. then I flash with PCC, my phone can be turned off while charging.

that is what i mentioned after flashing from flashtool i flashed the rom through sony PCC and still the issue is not fixed for me for some odd reason.

after the download finished PC companion creashed. so I made an ftf and flashed it using flashtool. but still the problem persists :crying: dunno how to resolve it.

guyz i don't know what is it you are not doing right.

No Problem with the FTF I created. I can upload it once I reach home. Its on my laptop.
@dhiman33 are you using a 32 bits pc? I saw the same problem when I used a 32 bits pc but no problem on my 64 bits work computer or on my 64 bits Ubuntu laptop. Also if you have unlocked Bootloader, the PCC won't be able to flash the rom but the files will be downloaded and you can use Flashtool to create a FTF for yourself.
Flashtool works so much better on my Ubuntu system. Its easy, no need of finding or installing drivers.. lol!!

no mate, i'm on 64-bit win8(had trouble installing drivers disabling driver signature verification)

Xperia SP issues

Hi everyone !
I've some problems on my Xperia SP. I bought this phone 1 month ago, it's unrooted, the build number is 12.0.A.1.257. So:
1. The homescreen restarts frequently and randomly, the Viber, and most of my apps too. I've got about 300-350MB of free RAM every time I check it.
2. If I'm listening music via Walkman app, it stops randomly, and if I restart the app, it starts from where I started before. I think it's similar to the first one, and the RAM management causes this issue too.
3. WiFi problems ...
Please help me, if you have any idea ! I'd like to fix these issues, because it was a quite expensive phone for me ... Thank you !

Well, the latest FIRMWARE is the 12.0.A.2.245... I recommend ya connect ur phone to PC Companion to install the update or maybe flash it with Flashtool :highfive:
EDIT: 1. I dont have HomeScreen Restarts
2. Walkman go perfect here
3. Wifi is stable too

Thanks for the reply, but my phone is unfortunately not factory unlocked, so my SP says this is the lastest firmware available. :/ I gonna try the update via PC, I hope it will work.

Flash the newest firmware (245) via Flashtool. Its very easy to use and u don`t need to unlock ur bootloader or something else.
Btw. I did to, cause the update to 245 fw wasnt available and I didnt want to wait.

4.3 Update for India

Just want to know if there is any official update to 4.3 available in india because i cant see any updates yet.please somebody confirm if there is an update or not if yes please tell me the procedure

Im not sure if OTA is available yet.
Connect your mobile to your computer and check for update in Sony PC Companion ...then you will find it

I dont think it wil help coz there is no updates in my phone's updates center!

So, OTA is not out yet.
Check for the update in Sony PC companion.
Make sure you are using official Sony firmware and you will lose root(if rooted) upon update through Sony PCC.
The application will download about 850MB from the internet.

[Q] Software reinstall via PC Companion.

I try to reinstall my software at xperia zr via pc companion and it shows me this message,''THERE IS NO SOFTWARE AVAILABLE FOR YOUR PHONE'',i have rooted my phone,is this a promblem,because i had contact with sony support and said to me that if i cant repair my phone via pc companion there is a damage in my phone.Any suggestions.Please help me,thank you.

Try using flashtool to flash a FTF. The kernel will be reinstalled and this is very likely to fix your phone.

And where can i find my original kernel for 4.4.2 kitkat for xperia zr?Thank you.

Basically i want my phone looks like when i bought it.Because i have rooted and deleted some important applications.This solution will make my phone like a new one?

yes. use flashtool and ftf of your choice. 4.3 or 4.4.2. your phone will look like out the box

Nope, that means u cant unlock bootloader.. If u want to repair ur phone then use Sony Update Service instead of PC Companion.. Or search & download 4.4.2 firmware ftf file & flash it using flashtool...

My original promblem is that i cant proceed to software reinstall via pc companion and not even update service.I get a message that says ''there is no available software for your phone.Why this happens can you answer me please?

Coz, u have the latest firmware installed on ur phone.. After that msg click on the "repair ur phone software/ reinstall ur phone software" & PCC or SUS will start repairing ur phone..

Of course and i choose the message repair.But the promblem is still the same,i told you i got this message by both softwares,
PROMBLEM:
THERE IS NO AVAILABLE SOFTWARE FOR YOUR DEVICE.
DETAILS:
THE UPDATE SERVICE OF SONY DOENST HAVE SOFTWARE FOR YOUR DEVICE.
TROUBLESHOOTING:

Like 5 times brother,both of softwares.I know that i can flash the kernel via Flashtool,but why the softwares cant help me?This is my promblem.Is a promblem that i bought the phone from a store ay hong kong via ebay?

So what u r saying is that the PCC is not recognizing your phone when connected and thats why u r not able to repair it.
can u post a screenshot of it?
Have u tried posting this question on talk.sonymobile.com forum? may b someone from Sony support find solution for it.

I didnt meant that sony shows me a message that says we dont recognize your device,the original message that i get from pc companion is this http://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-S-SL-acro-S/cannot-repair-from-pc-companion/td-p/506961.My phone is Xperia ZR and i run 4.4.2 kitkat.Maybe this version is not available for the time at Europe,have you any information about this?

I search at internet and i find that 4.4.2 for c5503 was only released at nordic countris hong kong and taiwan.So i find the nordic version i install it with flashtool and then i tried again to repair my phone via pc companion,before his in the installation of pc companion i select as country region Sweden which is one of the nordic countries,but still i get the same message fro pc companion and i cant repair my phone with the original way.Maybe sony doesnt released yet 4.4.2 kitkat for Greece,because i think that however which sony gives you the right in the installation of pc companion to choose the country region automatiically spots you and select the rights that you have over your device.If im wrong at my thoughts let me know.Thank you,im waiting for your answers.

may b u r right. Sony would have not released software for your region yet.
I searched in Xperia firmware checker tool by IaguCool ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/cro...xperifirm-xperia-firmware-downloader-t2834142)
I select Xperia ZR 5503 in left side panel, then i see list of available versions. In that I saw 1274-1395 Nordic combined 10.5.A.0.230/R2D. On extreme right side u have download links.

Did you know maybe what means r3d or r2d at firmwares?And also that files from the program that you recommend me are not ftf right?

The tool is an exe file which checks the firmwares for most Xperia phones and gives latest ftf files for download. r2d and r3d are just different versions of same build. nothing much changed except a line in build.prop
