I bought a second hand camera a few days ago "ek gc 100" after about 4 days the camera began to act strange with color distortion in auto mode and white balance not working correctly in manual mode "did update", before update the colors show better and auto white balance works better but crashes alot apart from the update the macro mode won't work correctly even in manual mode as it won't focus on close objects 2x times the length of when I got the camera to take the same photo but it had worked correctly to begin with but with a problem of color distortion in the auto mode.
I'm not sure whether this is a hardware issue or a software issue as factory resetting gives one set of issues and updating the camera gives a new set of issues.
could the OS have become corrupt or be a software / lens issue?

My N6 worked fine till yesterday.. i wanted to take a video but it seems to be blurry an kind of vibrating. There is also an weird klicking sound coming out of the camera every time the rear camera is focusing. Cant take no more sharp vidos and pictures:crying:
I tried different camera apps from the play store and i wiped my device and did a clean flash this morning..the issue is still there.
I think the auto focus is mechanicly broken.. Got to send it to motorola
N6 auto focus issue: https://youtu.be/ulAM5PT1JHU
Since the OTA update to EVA-L09C432B166 (or at least is my recollection of when this issue started), I've faced a number of issues with the camera,
Firstly, Camera would not function at all just giving the "Failed to start Camera error, Check if there are.....",
After a factory reset, cleared out cache etc, I managed to get the camera to open, this would now take pictures, freeze and close, but only using the normal setting, any attempt to change to any other camera function would cause it to freeze totally.
I am now at a point, where I can use HDR, Light Painting (sometime), Shallow DoF option, but any attempt to either use a filter, or to access and use the Monochrome setting, caused the entire thing to die again, after about 30 seconds or so of closing the camera when this happens, it seems to reset itself and when I reopen the camera, it opens with the normal camera setting only..
Has anyone faced anything like this? I'm loathe to think it's a HW issue due to the way the issue manifests and it's lack of consistency (other than monochrome / filters) I was hoping / wondering that the factory reset would downgrade the phone back to pre 166 but still is not the case, I cannot remember whhich FW i was on prior to the 166 OTA upgrade so I am unsure which I should look to downgrade to.
Any input / advice / assistance would be great, buying a camera on the basis of a camera function I can barely use is not the best....#
Thanks

Go to apps/camera....clear cashe, clear data, force stop....and then restart your phone
Have you changed your DPI?
My camera breaks for anything other than Colour and monochrome if I have the DPI any lower than 420.
Hi.
Ever since I received the latest update (.153), my phone does not switch the camera to the 5x all the time. It only changes, 100% of the time, when I press on the 10x zoom.
I have a hard time explaining, basically what I want to say is: When I press the 5x zoom button the app stays on the main sensor and doesn't use the 5x one all the time, only sometimes.
Try to go to settings>apps>storage and then clear data, it should fix it, otherwise, go to the service center.
Or maybe your subject is too close or you do have a low light environment
Just checked mine and it works 100% okay, so it's not a "global" bug.

Well, it happens only in low light and also when its too close, but still, why?
When I tried outside(in the night) it still used the main sensor, but when I tried using the x10, it was sharper than the main sensor at x5, so I dont understand their logic.

Because focusing has minimum required distance, maybe at least 2m-3m when you use 5x optical zoom to properly focus on the subject (Even DSLR/Mirrorless lenses has it). Also, it will shift to main sensor at night because it has only 3.5 Aperture and it will be too dark if it will use it compared to 1.6 aperture of the main camera. Same how samsung uses its telephoto lens at night, it will automatically shift to main sensor.
In contrast, 10x zoom uses hybrid zoom which uses both the periscope lens and the main camera. So far, my device is good in lowlight even I use 5x zoom, I think you just need to focus it firmly before taking photos
I've noticed the very same issue after .153 with mine, I've cleaned data for camera and reset it to default which immediately fixed the issue, but now it's happening again... and not always, it seems like it just can't switch to other camera module... when needed (5x only) both for video or photo... really strange... Mine is from UAE...
Yeah, same here... But I can't even fix the issue.
It keeps struggling with 5x zoom.
When it starts focusing, often a noticable switch (different camera module?) to a much noisier image occurs.
Also with zooming in from 1,1x to 4,9x I have no image stabilization...
I hope they can sort this out with future updates.
For now I have to use 5,1x zoom or 10x zoom for a clean image with stabilization.
Can anyone confirm that behaviour?
Hi there, I have an ongoing problem with the main camera on miui 12. My camera works fine with all the shots except for macro photos or when I try to focus on something near. I use both gcam and stock camera app and both results are same.
Here are some example photos. Last one is ultra wide, its not clear because of low Light but it can actually focus.
Up!!! Nobody else has the same issue?
This close focus problem is occuring on my device too, i reset my phone and after using again like a new one, this problem occured ,plz i need a solution
How to solve this issue?
Not sure if I have a hardware issue or a bug with 12.5.3 EU ROM.
In indoor lighting the viewfinder on my camera flickers like crazy. I've toggled every option of HDR from on auto off. Rebooted. You name it. It almost seems like the camera is rapidly changing color profiles or something odd.
I'll probably factory reset or something. Just hope it's not hardware this ea rly.
Update: It appears to be fixed by disabling the advance motion tracking that helps snap photos of kids and pets.
Glad you got it sorted and provided feedback!
