Hi. I don't know this is an issue, my moto x has a loud vibrations. Is this normal in this phone? My friend has a Samsung s4 and in his phone the vibration is much much much more silence, so I can't hear it.

What about 2nd gen of moto x? Is the same? Do you know some website where I can search for phones with silent vibration?
Wouldn't silent vibration just be silent?

I just got myself a White Moto X on sprint today and am noticing some inconsistencies in speaker volume. Most of the time the speaker is way to quiet even with volume maxed. It is quiet for calls notifications and music and games. Occasionally though the volume gets to loud and acceptable levels but never very long.
I am wondering if there is a setting that adjust my volume automatically based on ambience or me moving the phone.
I use loud ringtones and the same ones as all my other phones have used and never had a problem hearing them in normal environments. It seems as if I have to be in a very quiet room to hear this phone though or hold the speaker up to my ear to hear music.
Reviews for this phone seem to say the speaker is on the loud side and is comparable to the levels of the HTC One.
I just need to know if I need to return mine.

I noticed it also. I started noticing it after the latest update (camera update etc.)

I'm guessing this has to do with the "smart speaker" feature, which I just read briefly about today. I've noticed it on my phone as well, although it hasn't been that noticeable, but regardless I wonder if there is an option to disable it or modify its behavior.
Scroll down to point 4, thats where it discusses this new speaker tech.

Thanks for the information. I couldn't seem to find this with all my looking. And I spent the last week solid looking at reviews hands on videos and anything else I could find to determine if I wanted the Moto X or the S4 or HTC One.

I've started noticing this volume auto changing itself more lately, sometimes the notification sounds are pretty loud, other times they seem to be a lot quieter. I'm guessing the Moto X is using some "smart" setting like in the link I posted, but I have no clue how to change it or where the setting is at.
Has anyone else experienced this yet, and found the setting and/or a fix to the issue? I would rather just set the volume manually myself and not have the Moto X try to adjust it for me
I think have the same issue.

I Think I have the same issue, I have my Moto X, and sometimes I dont know why, the notifications doesnt sound in my phone, I thought it was happening because an "smart" configuration or something like that, but I havent discover anything that can fix this.
Does any one?
YES! This is my problem exactly...
I called Motorola to ask if they had any kind of technology in the phone that would lower the volume based on ambient resonance, or whatever, and the representative said "no".
After that, he offered me a replacement, commenting that it was the first time he'd heard of such an issue, and telling me that it wasn't normal.
What do you all take from this? This issue is big enough to cause me to return my brand new, otherwise amazing, Moto X because I really need a reliable speaker.
Get a replacement.

I notice this also... When playing videos in YouTube for example the ad which plays before the video has loud volume but when it switches to the video the volume suddenly goes down.

Are there any volume hacks to increase volume output on headphones/earphones? I like to listen to my music loud, but my Moto X seems to under perform when it comes to output power (at least when compared to my S4). I have the works running on my S4 when it comes to optimization, but have very little knowledge on what i can do with the Moto X.
Any suggestions would be appreciated! (I'm running rooted stock VZW btw)
I have a bill from the ear nose and throat doctor and a case of tinnitus that might change your mind.

MOTO X Slapped
I just got my Verizon Moto X a few days ago and whenever I use my headphones, I find the volume to be very loud. In a normal setting (i.e quiet room) the volume on the lowest setting is very very loud, not quite unbearable, but very loud compared to other phones. Has anyone experienced this? and is there any app in the play store that can control this?
(I'm using the apple earpods and i'm not sure if the volume changes with different headphones)
I was just noticing the same thing today.
No, I find the phone jack to be very high quality sounding this time and have a little more power output. Either you have a defect or you are using a 16ohms earbuds or in ear monitors that are to easy to power.

I agree, This phone sounds a lot better than my Note 3 did. I was very surprised the first time I put in my earbuds.
Very very pleasantly surprised with the sound coming out of this thing. Sounded amazing in my car today.

Using the red Beats earbuds I got with my Rezound way back when, I am not having any issues with the volume being too loud.
Anybody have any opinions on the call quality for the Droid Turbo?
Incoming, outgoing, how it sounds in general volume wise, tone wise, etc?
Thoughts?
Earpiece volume is low unless you have your ear positioned in precisely the right spot.

Would you say the voice clarity is pretty good or just eh?

I've had no problems at all. No low volume, sounds great to me. Last phone I had was galaxy s3 and it seems better.
Call quality is OK.
The problem is the loudspeaker, that is not that bad, but its not good as the ones found on Moto X or HTC M8.
So, Im thinking in buying a JBL Clip.
Just got a droid turbo and the loudspeaker is A LOT quieter than my galaxy s4 when playing audio, ive turned off audio effects. Is this normal?
I've just compared buzzers loudness of Turbo and sgs 5. And I cannot say that s5 sounds louder, maybe just a little bit, I'm not sure, but Moto plays music/audio with much more bass and more pleasantly as for me. So if your buzzer is really quiet, you have a mechanical problem imho.
Bummer, thanks man
Speaker sucks on the turbo

Is it rooted?
"I get to ask the questions. I've found you look a lot smarter asking the questions than dumbly not answering."*
No there is no way to root Verizon xt1254 without sunshine right? I dont want to buy it (sunshine) then realise the speaker is faulty and have to send it back and waste the 25 dollars.
Return it, I came from a s4 and found the turbo to be louder just because of the placement of the speaker.

I also have an s4 and the speaker is twice as loud as the Turbo. Faulty unit?
