Hello everyone, I have just migrated from Xperia L. I want to know whether the Moto G (2nd Gen) will get stuck in boot loop after unlocking the Bootloader. In Xperia we have to flash the stock firmware. What about Moto ?

No need of flashing anything... Unlocking bootloader just factory resets your device...

idk what you did to cause this but just boot into fastboot and flash the factory dev images to the phone and it should boot fine.

I was just referred to this site for guidance on rooting my Verizon XT1096 (Moto X 2014) running Lollipop 5.0. I understand there was a problem with the locked bootloader on this particular device that has been preventing root access. Is this still the problem? Is root still not being achieved? And also, how can I determine if my device has a locked bootloader?
Thanks
Reboot into fastboot menu it will tell you if its unlocked
There is no root for the Verizon version.
Your phone has a locked bootloader, and unfortunately there is no root for it either. Sorry to say, but you are stuck with a stock phone.

I have a stock T-Mo Moto X which was dropped and the screen is not usable but the phone boots up. I cannot interact with the touch screen. How can I backup the contents of the device via ADB or some other means and how can I wipe the device without being able to interact with the touchscreen?
Bump
No one has any input here?

Won't work as I cannot even enable USB Debugging to get ADB to work. I cant see or touch the screen.... Well I can activate Cerberus Shell but I don't have root. What can I do from this shell?
I know you noted it was stock, I assume that means no custom recovery? Would it be possible to flash one (if BL is unlocked)? If the BL is locked, don't unlock it because it will wipe data...

Nope, pure stock. Check my latest edit though.
what does this mean when i go into developer options and i see oem unlocking it, says allows the bootloader to be unlocked when i check it off but the bootloader is lock this phone was purchased through moto maker and its not the pure edition
It is just an extra setting added by Google for extra protection. If you decide to unlock your phone you would need to check that first before booting into the bootloader to perform the commands to unlock your phone.
Tried to unlock it won't work I did it on my Moto x first gen xt1053 no problems ....is there any way to unlock this phone thank yoy

Is your XT1097 the AT&T model. If it is then you will not be able to unlock the bootloader. AT&T does not allow it.
