Mirroring Screen - Can I do it on...? - Google Chromecast

Hello, Can I Mirror my screen,
On a device which has ROOT but is running 4.3 Jelly Bean?
Thank You very much!

Not with the standard Chromecast screen mirroring. That requires Android 4.4.1 or newer.
You can try mirror4cast, but performance may not be good enough for video playback. It definitely wasn't on my AT&T Galaxy S3

ICS vs Jelly Bean

I have read that JellyBean uses a new kind of engine that keeps the Galaxy Nexus very fast!
So, does this mean, when Jellybean is ported to Galaxy Mini, the phone's performance will increase?
:good:
Jellybean includes "Project Butter", which makes the whole experience, well, butter-smooth.
When ported, it should normally be as smooth on any other phone.

And i guess JB will have to use the same drivers that had to be used in ICS.
So, We will have to wait for someone to develop something similar to the OMX drivers..

jelly bean is an improvement in ics with some new features added and it is also true that its framework is also a bit changed but still is 4.1 not 5.0, so not much changes are expected

But, project butter must be the biggest change.

[Q] HDMI Mirroring

Hi all,
Running Asylum build CM10.1 nightly (20130517)
I just got a new MHL cable for my Galaxy Note N7000.
When I plug in the cable the screen on phone rotates to landscape, but nothing else happens on the TV.
Can anyone confirm if they have this working on the above hardware & firmware?

Hello. Maybe select HDMI as input on TV?

Ok...maybe I was asking for too much.
Can anyone confirm that they are able to use HDMI mirroring & if so what firmware you using?

Hello christogouws!
I have managed to get my phone's screen onto my TV by using an MHL cable. Although it does not work on CM ROMs or any ROMs based on CM, it only works on Samsungs stock ROM or other TouchWiz ROMs. My personal favorite has always been RocketRom when it comes to TouchWiz ROMs and it works great for me with this version:
Rocket ROM Reloaded v1 thread on xda
also, Stunner works stunningly well! ;-P
Stunner ROM on xda
I hope that you'll get the MHL working on your phone! Please don't forget to configure your TV to use the right HDMI port you are connecting the phone to, and so on...
Greetings,
Paco.

Great! Thanks so much for the info.
Rocket ROM seems to be GB... I'd prefer not to go there.
Stunner ROM is ICS, but seems to be based on CM, do you have HDMI mirroring working on Stunner ROM?
Rocket rom reloaded is JellyBean

You could hit the thanks button next time since it's there for a reason.
And yes, if I recall correctly, it worked on both.

[Q] streaming flash content cm10.1 4.2.2 issue

Any help would be greatly appreciated.Hello all thank you for you time. I'm running cm10.1 unofficial nightly build 05.22.13 on my touchpad with the latest adobe flash apk and Firefox app from Googleplay.
The issue that I'm having is my display would go to sleep as configure per my display setting while I'm streaming flash content at full screen. Not sure why this is happening and not sure if this is just my device. I didn't have this issue with cm9. Only notice this with cm10 and now 10.1. Theodd thing is that this issue is also happening with my nook color and nexus 7 with cm10.1
My current work around is setting display to time out 30 mins and touch the display every now and then.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks again
I did a quick search and found this app for you. I haven't tried it, but its worth a try.

Thank you. I went back to cm9 for stability but will keep this app in the back pocket . I was just curious to know if I was the only one experiencing this flash problem or its the same for everyone else. If its just me I wonder wat I did wrong with the install

Flash is phased out but that doesn't mean you can't get it to work well. Its working great for me on my phone and tablet. Both running 4.2.2

I,ve been flasing custom roms since the touchpad and nook color was out so i'm curious to know what I did wrong with these installs. I've had this issue happened to me with multiple devices. Nexus 7 nook color and my touchpad . All install were done with complete wipe of device.

Flash has never worked well on 4.1+ ROMs on the Touchpad in my experience. Flash isn't supported on 4.1+ but on other devices its still smooth so its a Touchpad Android issue not a Flash issue.
If you want Flash stay with CM9. I went back to CM9 after being on CM10 a while because I wanted stable Flash and couldn't really think of any new CM10 features that I needed.

First and foremost thank you for your input. It is true that flash is no longer supported on 4.1 + but it can and should be stable once installed. One example I can provide is with my nexus seven. With stock rom and latest flash APk installed it runs Smoth no problem but when it is rooted and custom rom installed display issue occurs. There must be some config in the rom where display would remain awake when certain apps are running at full screen. Also its hard to see that its a touch pad issue because this is happening to other devices that I've installed custom 4.1+ rom. I'm currently back with cm9. For stability until cm 10.1 is more stable will switch.

Samsung probably built in some code to be more flash-compitable.

Flash runs smooth on my Droid3 with CM10.1 even though the rom is far from stable. Also runs well on the Razr with stock 4.1.2 update. Its just on the Touchpad that 4.1+ have issues with flash in my experience.

Its not not portable, some were even trying to port the ICS update from the S2 to our phone but it is very very diffiicult.
These projects are like mission impossible 14..
We must resign ourselves.

[Q] Jelly Bean or KitKat?!

Hey guys! Do you think that S Advance works better with jelly beans or kitkat?

If you are a mobile high activity when using the device, it is advisable to use the stock ROM only.
If you feel annoyed when you are on the stock ROM, you can use Kitkat (not official). For that, you can refer to this thread.
