My xperia is not feeling as smooth as it was after the kitkat update and the fullscreen mode is also not working anymore, in the starting it was working for all apps like whatsapp, Google plus, and all the games. But now the status bar and soft keys are visible everywhere is there an option to toggle these settings.
When it was working with all apps there was an issue.
If the status bar not hiding in games so there is a problem

I just updated to the new 4.4.2 in my Xperia Z, and immediately after I started using it I noticed quite a bad lag (Maybe a few fps) when the notification bar was swiped down. Switching to the quick tools is smooth, runs normally but as soon as you move the bar up or down it's very laggy.
*
Firmware: exzistenz 1.5.0 based on latest compilation
*
Is this related to my phone's hardware (RAM, CPU, ROM etc etc)
Or is it a software issue (Incorrectly installed firmware, firmware bug)
*
Thanks for answers*
*
If this is a new bug please help report it. Thanks!

Enable developer settings
go to developer setting , set all animator scales to 0.5
enable for GPU rendering and see whether it reduces the lag

Another option will be flashing this rom.
Its stock based and it does not need bootloader to be unlocked.
Its pretty much optimized to be lag free
This is basically a KitKat bug on all Xperia devices

You can't call this SCREEEEN issue
Probably the system app * SystemUI.apk * is missing or deleted . if your device rooted and have recovery installed flash this
If it's just rooted then extract SystemUI.apk and move it to your device to System/priv-app and set the permissions to RW R R

Yes its hardware difference in NFC modules, but maybe someone can help to port driver from one firmware to other, or show what files need to replace.

I just rooted my phone using this tutorial - http://forum.xda-developers.com/xperia-z/general/guide-how-to-root-10-5-1-0-283-t2872873
Anyone have any recommendations on what to do next?
and why have you rooted your phone if i may ask
Good point, why root if you have no plans of how to use it?
Titanium Backup is always a good call. Maybe a custom ROM? You install a recovery manager?
I recommend installing these first:
- NUT's dual recovery: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2261606
- Titanium backup
- Xposed installer
- Xposed modules, such as GravityBox [KK]
Just be careful.
Oh and next time don't post the questions in general section.

now u could install apps like ...
ES explorer wich is more than useful to for example replace system apps with right permissions
Wakelocks Detector to track apps wich avoiding cpu to get into deep sleep
Greenify to hibernate them
Set CPU tu manage CPU freqs ...and make profiles screen on and off ...all this to increase battery life
U can now also use one of the most important tool once u get root ...apps like titanium backup, pretty useful when u start playing like harry potter with your device

You need to have unlock bootloader to flash most custom rooms.

@Wing126 bro
For CM11 or CM based roms u need a unlocked bootloader. And for other Sony stock based custom roms u can install in Locked Bootloader.
Unlocking Bootloader will void ur warranty ( in some countries) and also u will lose ur Bravia Engine 2. So if you have any plan to unlock ur bootloader means kindly backup ur TA partition. U can get TA backup tool from Sony cross development section. Best of luck.. Take care of your lovely XZ...

Yeah I don't think my phone can have an unlocked bootloader. I followed a guide to check if it can be unlocked and it pointed towards no. I checked the service menu to see.

I don't really know what are those formats. But if you asking for AUDIO format so you don't need to flash ROMs. Jus try some music players.

DTS/Ac3 is an audio format found in most of HD Movies. I know some other movie player can handle it. But i want a rom which already includes supports for this formats.
