[Q] Kindle Fire HD 7 2012 is stuck on boot screen - 7" Kindle Fire HD Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I was working on putting CM11 on my Kindle Fire HD when I did a step wrong and I tried to restore to a backup. Unfortunately, I must have done it wrong because now it won't go past the boot screen with the "fire" in orange. I've tried fixing it but I can't seem to communicate to it with ADB anymore. Is my kindle done for?

You need a fastboot cable.

I have a fastboot cable. I've tried using KFHD SRT but all I get is <waiting for device>.

Does it enter fb mode?

[Q] My Kindle is stuck at System Recovery Screen

Long story short. My Kindle is stuck at the System Recovery screen. I got my Factory USB cable from SKORPN today. ( Can't tag, I'm new to these forums) My Kindle is not recognized by ADB, is there any way I can push ADB to my Kindle Fire HD 7? I have KF First Aide, but it isn't working since my Kindle doesn't have ADB enabled. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated, and the solution will be cherished for life. Oh, it has 7.3.1 firmware.
The factory cable will let your device boot into fastboot mode.
ADB commands dont work in fastboot.

Thanks, I found the solution when I plugged my working Kindle into my pc with the Factory Cable. Other drivers, besides the amazon adb driver, were installed. Now my other kindle boots into fastboot.

My Kindle is in Fastboot, but it is not recognized by my computer. So far KF First Aide, and another recovery tool have been ineffective in trying to restore my kindle while it is in fastboot. according to KF First Aide, the process will fail if adb is not enabled. The problem with that is I reset my kindle to factory defaults after wiping it clean (adb is disabled in factory settings) and my device boots to the system recovery screen when not in fastbbot (no option to enable adb) so again is there any way to push adb to my Kindle? Or is there some other method to this madness? I have tried both the amazon, and universal adb drivers.
I believe the other tool was made by Onemelie or something similar, both tools say (waiting for device).

3. KFHD_SRT_v2.1 - option 1,4 works..2,3 say the failed remote data to large
4. Kindle_Fire_Utility_v0.9.6 won't even work says ADB Status: Offline
am i doing something wrong ??? i am using windows 7
Don't use kindle fire utility on a kfhd u can hard brick it..
I am a bit unsure as to exactly what is going on, did you get it into fastboot mode because it doesn't sound like you did. Keep in mind factory cable isn't the cable your kindle came with, I call them fastboot cables so as not to confuse people with that term. If it is in fastboot mode your kindle should say fastboot in big letters on the screen. If it does get into fastboot and your having this error then I suggest checking to make sure your fastboot drivers are installed since kfu said its offline. Seriously though don't use kfu it can hard brick your device. On another note I just remembered you said this is a kf8.9. If you have adb laying around I suggest running the command on the system restore utility instructions. Then plug your kindle in and power it on, it should go into fastboot from what I have heard about 8.9 inch kindles.

[Q] Stuck on Kindle Fire Bootloop

This is my 1st time asking for help since I really have never needed it. I got a kindle fire HD 7" and rooted it. I added TWRP and a 2nd bootloader. For a long time I was stuck in TWRP and every time I tried to reboot it would just go back to TWRP. This morning I tried using the Kindle fire utility and selected option one. It seemed like it worked. I then rebooted and now I am stuck on the Kindle Fire boot screen. It shows Kindle fire on the screen, goes black for a few seconds, then back to the kindle fire, then goes black again. It keeps doing this over and over again. I am not able to get back into TWRP now. I am not sure what to do at this point. I have read just about every thread out there and cannot find a similar situation to mine. Any guidence would be appreciated.
OK mistake number one, do not use kindle fire utility on a kfhd, you could easily hard brick the kindle. That was designed for first gen it's and they work a bit differently than yours. OK now that I got that out of the way, does your kindle still have the logo turn blue?

Thanks for the quick reponse. When I installed the 2nd bootloader and TWRP I got into the bootloop. At that time when it would bootloop it would go from orange to blue twice before going back to TWRP again. After I made the mistake of using the Kindle FIre utility it now just keeps on the kindle fire start-up screen and it is always orange.
You are either going to need a fastboot cable to fix or have some luck getting a command to work... If you open the device manager, and plug your kindle in while its off, does a Tate device show up for a few seconds? If so try updating the drivers on the Tate device to the ones in my signature. From there you should be able to use a fastboot command to get the kindle to boot into fastboot. The command would be "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product", but if your not seeing a Tate device then this command will be useless, and I don't wanna finish explaining how to use this command until I know your PC is detecting it, assuming you don't know how to use the fastboot command by itself from a command prompt since I don't know your skill level with android stuff and windows command prompt stuff.

Thanks again for replying. I would say my experience level is low when it comes to command prompts. I get the basics though. I will check when I get home if I see if a Tate device shows up when I connect with my usb and get back to you. Even when I was in TWRP I was having difficulty seeing my device on the computer to add a custom rom to the sd card. I tried sideloading and tried mounting the sd card but nothing worked. I wish now I would have just left it in TWRP and did some more research. Live and learn I guess. I will let you know what I find out. Thanks again.
Ok. I turned off the Kindle and then attached the USB to the computer. Nothing is being recognized. I see now too that my adb interface is also gone. It appears the computer is no longer picking up anything. When I attach the Kindle to the computer it starts the bootloop again flashing the kindle fire screen over and over again. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks again.
I think your only hope is a fast boot cable, and honestly or just depends how broke it is whether it works or not

Thanks for the reply. So let's say I get a factory cable and I can get into fastboot mode; what are my next steps?

Ok. I wanted to clarify what I did to get in the situation that I am in. I rooted my device with no issues. I then decided to install a 2nd bootloader and TWRP. After all was done my Kindle Fire HD 7" booted to TWRP. I could not get my computer to show my device so I was stuck. Every time I would reboot it would flash kindle fire in orange, then in Blue, then in Orange, the in Blue then would go back to TWRP. I then put the device with the USB attached to my computer and from TWRP I put the device into fastboot mode. I then used the KFHD SRT v1.3.5 tool and opened the SR.Tool.bat and chose option 1. After it was done I rebooted and now I am stuck on the Kindle fire screen (in orange) and it will show for a few seconds, turn off, then go back to the kindle fire screen again (in orange) and just keep repeating. I ordered a factory cable to try to get back to fastboot mode but since it did not work for me the 1st time I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for me. Thanks in advance.
Are you sure it is a factory/fastboot cable? I would either get them from skorn or proxenusa since I know they are reliable.

Hello again. I don't have the factory cable yet; I just ordered it yesterday. When I used the fastboot mode the last time I entered the mode from TWRP and was connected to my computer with a regular usb charger. When it was in fastboot mode I selected the option 1 from the tool I mentioned in my previous post. I am just wondering if the fastboot did not work with the KFHD tool I used because I did not have a factory cable connected hence why I am stuck on the Kindle fire screen. What do you think?
No, typically it is said to use a fastboot cable just to get the device into fastboot, then plug the normal cable in afterward.

For future reference, when you get your kindle back up and running again, you need to flash a custom ROM to boot. The TWRP boot loop stems from trying to boot into stock ROM, it won't work. So just put a ROM on your kindle before you flash bootloader + twrp next time.

[Q] Kindle fire 7 HD can only access fastboot Help!!!

I've been trying to fix this for 5 days now I've been reading through forums for hours and I've now come to this I need some real help...
I have a Kindle Fire HD 7 store demo model..
I'm trying to root it and get rid of the store Demo restrictions
This is as far as i could get.
I used this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1951254
To try and get back to factory settings but this didn't work.
I'm stuck in boot loop now ending in a red triangle screen telling me kindle couldn't boot correctly.
I have a fastboot cable so i can get to fast boot.
What I've been thinking is maybe I need to root first before anything in the above post will work but I'm not sure on that.
I haven't been able to discover my kindle in adb using cmd while in fastboot.. Not sure if that is possible in fastboot anyways.
So my real question is how can i either root my kindle in fastboot and flash twrp
I've tried to flash twrp a few times and it seems to have worked as far as cmd but when i get to the device nothing works.
I'm not rooted and I believe that to be the first step can anyone help me?
Please help..
If you don't have 2nd boot loader installed you can't install twrp and have it work... Also you don't need root for fastboot to work which is all that system restore tool uses.If it's in fastboot and it's a 7" model then it should have appeared in the device m,manager as a Tate device once you entered fastboot. Switch to a normal cable once you are in fastboot mode. Once that happens run "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product" and see if it returns anything. If things still go nowhere I suggest trying an Ubuntu live 13.10 CD/USB stick. Tell me how it goes.

[Q] Kindle Fire HD 7 stuck in fastboot

I have a Kindle Fire HD 7 for repair for a friend it was stuck on the Kindle Fire logo.
I think it's the 2013 version as it doesn't have a camera.
I've tried the KFHD_SRTv1.3.5 and Kindle Fire Utility. It goes through all the actions installing the file etc but when rebooted it's now goes to red screen then FastBoot, even without a cable plugged in.
I've tried the info in this thread - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2466243
I enterd "fastboot -i 0x1949 getvar product" and got SOHO-PVT-PROD-07
I tried
fastboot -i 0x1949 reboot and it reboots straight into fastboot.
I've tried going through the actions again but nothing seems to work. Is it bricked or is there hope?
You are lucky you haven't hard bricked it, those utilities aren't meant for it, especially kindle fire utility, that could have hard bricked it. There's a utility in the general section for restoring it, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2685090
That should be able to restore it.
