Hello guys,
I was looking for the answer for a long time, but I didn't find a solution for my case. My problem is a serious battery drain AFTER making a call. When i finish a call, the battery starts to lose about 7-10% of the energy per hour, even though the phone is not used and is in the same place as previously (so its not a problem with the poor gsm signal). The only solution is to restart my phone - it helps immediately, but onlyas long as there is no new phone call made.
I have installed Better Battery Stats, what I could notice is:
- in "CPU states" before the call the processor stays in "Deep sleep" for most of the time, after a call it remains at 100MHz
- in "Kernel wakelock" a gpsd process appears and takes most of the time
GPS is switched off all the time.
I think that the problem had appeared after one of the CM 11 update, however during the last month i thing i have installed really many different ROMs - CM 9, several CM 10 versions (10, 10.1, 10.1.3 etc), finally i came back to the stock 2.3.6, unfortunatelly - nothing has changed. Before each ROM installation i did factory reset and cache wipe. Yesterday i alsohad formatted internal SD card, after that i installed CWM 2.7.4 with CM 10.1.3 (this was working well couple of months ago) and completely nothing has changed.
Could you please work out the reason and a solution? Its obvious for me that the problem comes after making a call and now I really can't work out any ideas how to solve the problem. Yesterday I changed the radio ROM - no change at all...
Hope you guys can help me
Strange issue. Did you recently try to format /system before installing any of those ROMs? It is usually not required in the i9000 threads, but for all other devices formatting /system is a substantial step to insure that the next installation will be fine.

Thanks for reply. As far as i remember - I did it last time (as well as I formatted /boot, /data, /cache and rest of the format options from Mount and Storage in CWM).

In addition to the home and talk buttons not working. The phone will not lock when I hit end, it just puts into a sleep mode.
Holding end only gives a reboot and shut down option. This problem surfaced after installing the new SuperD mod. I did a wipe and reinstalled it two nights ago and the problem was resolved, but it has resurfaced tonight.
Anyone have any thoughts on the matter? Should I go back to the old version?
Which new version? The beta or 1.10.2? If it's beta - then you def should go back to stable. If it's 1.10.2 - then you most likely have a hardware problem. A lot of people run Super-D with no problems.
Further more, sometimes your trout-keypad-v3.kl (located in /system/usr/keylayout/) can get corrupted and cause that. It's extremely rare but you may try either re-flashing or just pushing that specific file.
Word of advice (which you may already know): if anything goes wrong and you want to rule out software problem - install a base rom (like the defanged from Cyan's wiki), complete wipe and min options (no Apps2sd, no swap, etc) and see if it fixes the problem. If the problem is gone - you're in lock and something went wrong with the rom. If problem is still there- start looking for a new phone.
Good luck.
I did a fresh install. I repartitioned the sd card, reinstalled all apps. did a factory wipe, reinstalled the base defanged, then did super D. It wasn't the beta, i had upgraded to 1.10.2 and experienced the problems.
It would work fine for two days, then if my phone would shut off (battery has weird contacts) then it would boot back up and my settings would be all messed up, and the keys would work. I would try re installing the ROM, but no fix.
A wipe remedies the problem. I went back to cyanogen last night to see if the problem appears on this rom, so far it hasn't.
I never had this problem until i upgraded from 1.9.3
I see this issue around but no one seems to quite solve it. I want to.
I have my old G1 and a MyTouch 3g and would like both phones to work so I have back ups when I get my G2. Currently, I have fixed most problems with my G1 except for one: The fact that it reboots randomly, seemingly nothing on my end to cause it.
I am running CM 5.08 and Clockwork Recovery 2.5.0.1
Things I've tried:
-Switching ROMs (It appears to have nothing to do with the ROM)
-Wipe, Cache Clear, Dalvik Cache cleared, Battery Stats, etc.
-Replacing the battery
-Updating SPL, Radio, changing recoveries, etc.
Is there anything else you guys would suggest trying to see if I can solve this problem?
P.S. I apologize if there is a thread on this already, or this is the wrong section for this question.
i used to have this problem on my g1...it would rebbot on stand by when disconnected from the power supply it narrowed the problem to memory card
try this
1)use recovery to format it in the file system recomended by you rom dev. ext2 3 4
2)buy a new Memory card and do step 1
it worked for me
good luck
I have an AT&T Nexus One. Got it since it was first released for AT&T never had any problems untill now.
I can do anything without problems except when I receive a text message my phone reboots. I tried factory reset no luck. I formatted my sd card wiped my phone and updated my rom from cm6 to the stable version of cm7 and it still reboots after I receive a text message. I searched google and found other people with the same problem with various android phones but I haven't found a fix yet.
I was hoping some of the genius here at xda dev could help me out with this.
My phone is out of warranty and it's unlocked/rooted.
Please help if you can.
Thanks,
Rick

EDIT: Just found out that it restarts when I receive phone call aswell.

This exact problem is happening with my Droid Incredible. I ran CM7 for quite a while and was just living with the problem... it doesn't happen every time I receive a text, but maybe half of the times it triggers my phone to reboot.
I have tried the following, but the phone continues to reboot on receiving texts:
- moved data off of SD card and formatted card.
- wiped data/did factory reset of CM7.
- installed MIUI rom
- wiped data/factory reset of MIUI
- deleted all backups
I'm currently running a completely wiped MIUI phone and it still reboots. I am at a loss as to what to try next. Did you ever solve your problem? Does anyone else have any suggestions?
You could try a new SIM...?
Since I bought the One I'm running Sense Roms (at the moment it's Android Revolution HD). For the last few days I have been trying to flash ParanoidRom and CM11 Nightlies but with both of them I encounter weird problems.
1. Both roms seem to break DHCP for me. I can connect to any Wifi but I don't get an IP. If I set the IP manually everything works fine. I already deleted the files in /data/misc/dhcp a few times but still no change.
2. With both roms I have freezes when waking the phone up from sleep. Most of the time it works, but 5-10 times a day the softkeys light up but the phone freezes when I try to wake it up from sleep. The problem exists with stock and with custom kernels.
Before flashing I wipe Data/Factory Reset, Dalvik and Cache. Last time I even wiped /system, just to try if it makes a difference.
Restoring my old rom fixes all the problems.
Is there anything I did wrong? I have no idea what else to do now
Hello I just bought the phone on 27 September and I have 3 questions :
1. is it normal for signal to be weak from time to time? 3g mostly and sometimes 2g as well.
2. how do I do dual boot?
Steps i did : Backup miui (didn't find where the backup was so i could transfer it to PC), then enable true dual boot, everything was gone even in internal memory and i couldn't mount usb to pc in CWM, luckily i have a usb OTG , and i installed slimkat to system one after doing a wipe, then i booted to system 2 and was shocked that miui started with the setup from slimkat and then the launcher started and i was in MiUi, but everything was bugged, i kept getting FC of all kind of stuff. so i checked the internal memory, nothing was there, then i got mad, downloaded official stable rom v23, put it on a usb drive, went to CWM disabled true dual boot, formated data cache and system for system 1 and 2, then i installed from usb flash the miui.
Question is, how do i make a normal dual boot without FC and everything running smoothly. I have CWM recovery v 6.0.5.0
3. How is the battery life? What software are you using and what apps.
Thanks!
ok, so i found out how to dual boot properly, it remains only 1 and 3 questions
Does your M3 WCDMA version or CDMA version? The signal with Xiaomi mobile always weakly, Its normal. especially of the CDMA/WCDMA version.
About Battery life, 7-10 hours is ok. If your phone more than 10hours,that's perfect.
i have the WCDMA version, today i got a sms from Orange saying that i missed a phone call 3 hours ago :/ wtf.. :/ im scared man.. i got 25 more days to send it back and get my refund ..i dont want to have a defective unit
how do u achieve 6-7 hours of screen time?
