US GSM vs International GSM - G 2014 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

So I'm in the process of buying the new moto g via Motorola's website.
But there are two models to choose from; US and International.
Besides the obvious fact that one only supports US bands and the other supports International bands, how are the two different? Is one dual-sim? Does one accept faster forms of data? Are their model numbers different?

Other then having different frequencies, US version comes with single sim and 8 gig storage only (so far).
The global version has two sim slots plus the option for 16 gig storage.
Edit: the global 16 gig version is not available from Motorola US site it seems.

[Q] Intl version. Will it work on all US networks? + more silly questions

Hey !
I am thinking of buying HTC One when it is on sale here (India). I am not sure that HTC is gonna roll-out the LTE enabled version of the One or just the 'normal' 3G one. I am mostly moving to the US for grad studies and I was thinking whether to buy the LTE enabled version or the normal (I'll call it that) version when I do. Should I buy the phone from India itself or from US? I don't think they would ask for residential proof or something to buy a sim-free unlocked phone.
I am kinda confused about the whole LTE thing as I feel it is..well a luxury item i guess?
And the main question, if I buy the phone from here........I think it would work only on limited GSM networks, right ?
The different phone specs have been posted in this forum by me and others.
There are US carrier specific versions because US carriers use different technologies and frequencies.
Mixed support, be careful. International models will have no 4G in the US. Your best bet is grabbing an asian model (also shipping in australia) as this has the correct 3G bands for AT&T, the euro model does NOT. T-Mobile, Sprint, Verizon all need their own specific models.

Okay, Thanx. Will keep that in mind before I buy. I guess going with the asian model (also ships in India) would be safe

Should I get the international version or the AT&T version of Note 3 ?

Currently I have the Note 2 with AT&T. I will be upgrading to the Note 3 when it comes out. However, I am not sure which version of the Note 3 to get. Should I get the International version or the AT&T version. I think the international version has the Samsung CPU and the AT&T version has the Snapdragon 800. Would the international version work with AT&T LTE cellular? Would the international version work with T-Mobile LTE cellular (just in case I want to switch)?
Which one would give better battery and faster speed/graphics?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure the international version will only run on AT&T 3G. I am in the camp that prefers the Snapdragon 800 to the revised Exynos 5, too. I'd opt for the AT&T version (Although personally I'm giving T-Mobile a shot this time around)
The N3 will be my first "carrier" phone on AT&T in two years. I'm not thrilled and depending on what it's like using it I may sell it on eBay and get a HSPA Octa. Here's my thinking:
Pros
I've been fine with HSPA+ on my previous phones and use to pay $10 a month for unlimited data through the "non-smartphone" loophole that applied to phone's AT&T didn't recognize. That party's over. So now I'm paying for LTE and not able to use it. So with AT&T's N3 I'll finally get what I'm paying for and even get LTE-A when they start to roll it out; supposedly this year.
The international N3's are insanely expensive. Negri and NewEgg have the Octa's at $779 and up. On Next it's $35 a month, I have no contract commitment beyond the phone's payoff, and I can sell it on eBay if I want something new.
Service and repair. Whether through Asurion or SquareTrade getting a carrier phone repaired/replaced is easy compared to jumping through hoops to get an international version (non-warranted and non-supported by Samsung in the U.S.) repaired.
Cons
God knows what AT&T's done with the s/w. We know there will be tons of their specific bloatware. That doesn't concern me because it can be disabled and with 32GB of NAND the space it takes up isn't a big deal. My big concern is their modifying, neutering, or completely removing some of Samsung's stock apps and features. I can't root my phones because I connect to secure networks so I'm pretty much stuck with what comes out of the box. I'm scared at what's coming out of AT&T's box.
I loved being able to use any multi-CSC ROM on Samfirmware or Samsung-Updates to keep my unrooted phone always current. I've probably had a dozen updates on my N7100. Now I'll be dependent on AT&T. That alone could end up pushing me to an international Octa N3. Also, to support the new features of Knox, Samsung's seriously altered and locked down the bootloader. So who knows what impact that'll have even on international N3's when it comes to updates via Odin. I used to root my phone when I wanted to do someting to it (EG: Google Wallet) and then unroot afterward and run Triangle Away. That ship sailed mid-year and with the Knox enhancements isn't coming back.
AT&T's modified radio may be crappy and I travel a lot internationally. Also I'm guessing on Next the device can't be unlocked until it's paid off. The only reason this is acceptable in my case is I'm getting a 3G (Octa) Note 10.1 2014 which has a dialer and I can use it in situations I need to pop in another carrier's SIM and/or the AT&T radio isn't working well.
Dev support is going to be limited on the AT&T N3's compared to the international versions. It'll probably still be strong but not as simple, timely, and robust. It doesn't apply to my un-rooted situation but something for people to consider.
The moment I find a S-800 international device that's quad-band GSM/UMTS and supports AT&T's LTE bands I'll buy it and sell my AT&T version. So far the EU and Latin American versions of the N3 don't support AT&T's LTE bands. The UK N3's LTE bands haven't been announced yet but I don't have high hopes. There's a chance a Canadian carrier will leave their version of the N3 unmolested and with the same model number as the international version and that it would support AT&T's LTE bands. That would allow it to be flashed like a non-carrier Samsung phone via Odin (with the possible exception mentioned above) and still get LTE on AT&T. Same thing for Claro in Puerto Rico. I'm not sure about the flash part but even an unmolested Canadian or Pueto Rican N3 with AT&T's LTE bands might end up being better than whatever AT&T does to their version.
All just my opinion of course.
I'm leaning towards either international or T.mobile or Canadian version. The att s4 can't be bootloader unlocked and new update patched the root. I'd hate to not have options on such a power device that I could potentially last for a couple years.
I had the note 1,note2,and now using the galaxy mega until the note 3 hits the shelf.I'm up in the air as well in deciding whether to keep my at&t note 3 or sell it and go international.I'd rather keep the at&t note 3,but who knows if were going to be up ****s creek with no root, are how long or ever going to get root method.I guess I can deal with no roms, but no root forget it
I thought that the international N3 (9005) with the SnapDragon 800 would be compatible with AT&T's LTE bands, no? Wasn't this mentioned during the presentation last week about the N3 supporting global LTE bands? Couldn't one just buy/import an international 9005 which was released in a country whose LTE bands match that of AT&T? Would this work?
I guess we'll know soon, but my own need would be for a variant which supports my home UK 4G network (EE most likely) plus USA AT&T LTE for when I'm in the states. Preferably bought in the UK for my UK carrier because of the discounts.
I thought the release event said they were going to support all bands in one device, but I've no idea if that's actually going to be true of the version you get at your local phone shop.

I heard the same thing too.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 2
I've beeing researching for hours, and accordung to multiple sites, like this one the international N9005 version will support LTE 2100/1800/850/1600/800MHz (Bands 1,3,5,7,20). This does not include AT&T, whose LTE network operates on bands 4 (1700Mhz) and 17 (700Mhz). I hope these frequencies vary by region, like many sites mention, but I have my doubts we'll get lucky to see international N9005 with LTE bands 4 or 17.
Here is a list of countries, which has partial LTE band overlapping with AT&T. None of these support both, bands 4 and 17, which is what AT&T uses:
Argentina - 4
Colombia - 4
Ecuador - 4
Paraguay - 4
Peru - 4
Uruguay - 4
Canada - 4
Puerto Rico - 17
Since Note 3 has LTE radio, capable of supporting up to 6 bands, the only hope is that one of these carriers will pick up a version, where the other missing band is tossed in without any real purpose behind it, just to keep things interesting. For example, AT&T branded GN3 needs only these 2 LTE bands, and yet the device is LTE penta band.
Also, keep in mind we dont even know what band will AT&T use next year, when LTE-A goes live. I believe AT&T owns spectrum in 1900Mhz and 2100Mhz areas, and in the process of acquiring more.
EDIT: I'd like to clarify my statement about GN3 radio supporting 6 LTE bands. What I meant is some carriers will offer a version, which has up to 6 LTE bands enabled simultaneously. The actual hardware capability of Qualcomm's RF360 Front End solution is universal 2G/3G/4G support - the radio is capable of operating on *all* LTE frequencies.

Questions about Nexus 6

As the title says, i need to know since i wont find anything anywhere.
Next month ill be buying the Nexus 6 comming from a note 3
Whats the difference in model number? Eg XT1100, XT1103
International and US version of the phone.
Is there any hardware specific modem changes that i should be aware of before buying it?
Does it matters to me? (Living in Sweden)
Are all custom roms compatible with both model numbers?
Thanks in advance.
International model (XT1100) is made for GSM, as networks in the developed world are all GSM.
N. America model (XT1103) is backwards-compatible with CDMA2000, and also supports some LTE bands unique to the US (Sprint & Verizon, mostly).
Unless noted otherwise by the dev, all the roms here are supported on both models.

The 1103 US version has a different radio chip wich supports different LTE bands then the 1100 World (including EU) version.
Custom ROMs work on both models. No hardware changes (SD805 and 3GB RAM on both).
Only the radio hardware is different.
The XT1103 supports CDMA from the stone-age, don't know why the americans (VZW/Sprint) haven't moved on yet.
The XT1100 supports the required LTE bands to be used in Sweden. Most likely the common EU Bands (Band 3/Band 7/Band 20).
The XT1103 supports 3 and 7, but not 20 which is the main LTE band in European countries.

Samsung Galaxy Note 9 SM-9600

I want to buy Note 9 128GB Dual SIM Snapdragon version. This version is not available here in Bangladesh. Only Note9 SM-960F/DS is available. Which is Dual sim 128GB/256GB with Exynos CPU.
Any suggestion from where I can purchase this Snapdragon Dual SIM version of Note9? Also need to know how I can be confirmed whether it will work in my counties network (GSM, 3G/4G LTE/VoLTE).

1) As for compatibility,it would help to know which network(s) you plan on using.
2) As for where to buy,the world's your oyster. As to single or dual SIM,most of the listings I've seen for the SM-N9600 (Snapdragon) are Dual-SIM,you'd have to verify that w/the seller.
3) Also, which RAM/Storage configuration are you interested in?

Compatibility definitely isn't a problem.
IDK the particulars regarding bringing your own (compatible) device to Grameenphone.
Barring no policies against it,IDK if the phones they sell have carrier-specific items that'll only work on their phones (software/firmware related restrictions).Wi-Fi Calling/VCo-LTE/VisualVoicemail come to mind.......
With all of that said, here's a seller on e-Bay that I would recommend (hoping you'll be in the US long enough to take delivery):
https://www.ebay.com/itm/NEW-Samsun...Ee_4PJXup8lvPKfZtoNA:rk:3:pf:1&frcectupt=true
(30 day warranty/return policy with this seller, you can check the other sellers for better warranty/warranty options).
Finding US retailers that sell this version of the Note 9 are virtually non-existent ATM,but, that will likely change in another couple of months (B&H Photo/Video comes to mind).
Amazon (USA) has 'em,but, they come without any warranty whatsoever.

Question OnePlus 10 Pro unlocked dual sim on T-Mobile USA

Hi folks,
I am looking to buy a OP10Pro dual sim unlocked device which would support all 4G/5G bands in USA, specifically T-mobile. I looked at some options available on Amazon or other websites similar to this listing - https://www.wirelessplace.com/produ...ernational-version-new?variant=42835975471274
Looks like these devices do not support all the 4G/5G bands similar to the official OP10Pro that T-mobile offers.
Does this option exist at all currently?
I am basically looking for an unlocked dual sim T-mobile variant.
Thanks
The "T-Mobile" variant is just the North American version (NE2215). I use it on T-Mobile and works great.
As for the Euro and Indian dual sim versions should work fine.

The 10 Pro doesn't support mmwave at all. The only thing different with the T-Mobile version is it has an IP-68 rating because T-mobile paid to get it for the ones that they sell. Essentially the NE2217 (TMO-US) is the same as the NE2215 except for branding and a certification.
I found this on OnePlus community forums.
NE2210 China
NE2211 India
NE2215 Global, IN
NE2213 Europe
NE2217 T-Mobile
Let me put it this way - Is there any dual sim model which supports all the T-Mobile bands including the mmWave similar to NE2217?
In other words, I am looking for a dual sim NE2217 model.
Thanks

This is mostly correct, the NE2215 is the North American hardware. OnePlus has really fragmented this phone's versions. Basically NE2210, NE2213 and NE2215 are all used for the "Global ROM" or International variant.

No because the mmWave feature of the X65 modem was never included with any 10 Pro. Also technically the NE2215 and NE2217 have actual dual sim slots, the SIM tray carrier is modified to prevent dual sim use. I'd also wouldn't be surprised if they never programmed a second IMEI for these variants.
Damn. It's getting impossible to stick with OnePlus. They not only botched the software but also removed the dual sim and not providing esim support.
I really do not know what device to buy next. My OnePlus 7 pro won't live forever.

I have, the phone has no 6GHz+ capabilities, the X65 has an addon module for mmWave and at no point in any OnePlus or T-Mobile marketing does it say that its mmWave capable. Multiple articles online also back this up. I purposely got a Pixel 6 Pro before I got this phone because it was marketed as a mmWave capable phone, but switched to the 10 Pro for other reasons. Also TMO-US doesn't clearly describe what bands are mmWave, but they include them in their 5G UC labeling. The only 5G UC band I ever get is n71 which isn't even near mmWave frequencies.
I really hope that the 10 Pro has the mmWave addon module and it just hasn't been enabeled yet by OnePlus, but everything I've read seems to point to no.
Ok. If I have to get a dual sim model which would support most of 4G/5G bands on TMobile, which one should I go for?
Any links to the model/store would be appreciated.
Also, will just swapping out the single sim tray with a dual sim tray on an unlocked T-Mobile variant do the trick?

i don't know, my 8Pro SIM tray is slightly too tall,
The European model supports T-Mobile bands and dual sim, but is not certified by Verizon or ATT so I don't think a Verizon sim will work.
An unlocked Pixel 6 Pro would be good for what you want as it supports and is certified on all carriers all bands in North America and around the world.
I have got US model 2215, it has single sim. I bought dual sim tray and the second sim contacts are visible inside the phone. i believe this model can be converted to DUAL SIM.
My question is how can I flash EU or IN firmware on US model?
THanks
I have installed Indian ROM into my US 10 Pro (single sim).
Got a dual sim tray from china for this.
now i rooted and enabled dual sim in build.prop. I can see dual sim in settings but second sim has null imei. second sim is not working yet.
Does the NE2213 version with global rom have t-mobile wifi calling and volte?

No, i tried everything but no success. I quit. But the last hope is the custom rom. Maybe you could try that. I don't have the device now.
I have to stay on the official rom, so no luck form me.
Thanks anyway !!
