I have a XT1053 (T-Mobile) on stock 4.4.3 that is rooted. I've noticed within the past couple weeks that if I get an incoming call while the screen is unlocked, I can't pick up the call because the incoming call screen will not come up. The navbar disappears and the icon shows in the statusbar, but I can't drag the statusbar down. All other touch screen interaction works like normal. If the call comes while the screen is off, the incoming call screen shows up like normal. As you can understand this is a bit annoying. I disabled Xposed completely and tested it after a reboot but that didn't fix it. Has anybody encountered this or know of a fix? I really don't want to do a factory reset as I have my phone the way I like it, but I understand if it is needed.
Thanks
Have you uninstalled all the xposed apps as well as the framework?

I haven't but that shouldn't make a difference if I completely uninstalled the exposed framework.

I had the exact same issue. I had to factory reset (i.e. wipe data) to resolve the issue, unfortunately.

Not sure why I couldn't find your thread. I thought it would come to this unfortunately. I'm trying to think of anything I could've done but I've not messed with anything that I know could cause issues.
Thanks fur the help.

For the first time today my phone gave me this prompt when I tried to open my camera while on a bluetooth call. I also tried it with just the speaker phone and regular call and still got this prompt. I can open it with camerazoom fx btw.. I cleared cache and data in the camera app and did a system wipe of dalvik cache and still no luck.

I believe thats by default. Not sure if its a Samsung thing or what. If you're rooted, Wanam has an option to allow that.

That's funny you brought this up. I've noticed on stock Samsung phones sometimes I can't do that either, then on others I can. I know with Wanam Xposed you can enable it though if you want to try that route.

Well today I took my phone to an AT&T service center for for call issues and they gave me a new sim and reflashed MJ5 to my phone. I'm bone stock again and my stock camera opens during phone calls. So I think root broke it somehow, maybe, I will reroot with kingo 1.1.8 to see if there is a relation to this situation with root. Thanks all.
Ok, So I rerooted with 1.1.8 and camera now works with calls. This is crazy. Lol

Does this happen with all modules disabled? If not, find out which module is causing this and ask for help in its support thread.
EDIT: if you can't access the Xposed Installer, check the FAQ for info on how to temporarily disable all modules or the framework.
Yeah, I disabled all of them. I also tried reinstalling the rom, it happen after I installed the 2.6 update from Xposed. I'm not really sure what else to do.

Just to make sure Xposed is causing this, does this still happen if your uninstall the framework?
I'm not 100% sure on that but I am a little nervous about uninstalling it, the last time I did that I had to wipe my phone and it was a pain. I'm working off of a Mac so I'm limited on what I can do. I do k ow that I have not added anything since I was on Xposed 2.5

i can confirm its Xposed (v2.6.1) causing the problem as my friend using HTC One X is also having screen problem (the entire screen is fuzz) (Xposed v2.5 is working fine for him until he updated to v2.6.1)
after uninstalling the framework (not the app) the screen is working fine again
will try to take a picture of it soon
xposed v2.6.1 working fine on moto x

reboot your phone... while its booting, spam press Power / Volume button when you see the splash logo, it should vibrate twice. if it doesnt vibrate twice, reboot and try again.
if your phone did vibrate twice, continue spamming until a long vibrate, it means Xposed is disabled.
if your phone vibrates when pressing the buttons, its disabling Xposed Framework.
if your phone is not vibrating, reboot and try again.

Looks really strange. I understood that you already tested that this even happens without any modules, but not if you downgrade or uninstall the framework. Correct?
Could you please try if the "disable resources API" setting in the installer makes any difference?

Did you use xposed, or did you do any modifications. I haven't found a post yet where the phone was broke after towel root, where towel root itself broke the phone.
Agree. There's no reason the root itself would cause this. Give us some more info so we can help you better. MMS can be finicky anyway on this phone. I've had some message delay issues (which are mms), but I've found a restart helps stuff come and go faster.

There is a reason for this. It is the network not the phone. Picture messaging is not sent through as normal data on the default text app it has to go through the towers.

I've found that mms doesn't work when using adblock plus. If you're using that, delete it and switch to Adaway. Fixed the problems I was having with mms messages.
DI'm having this same issue. A reboot causes a pending one to download but can't sent out. Uninstalled add block plus and still have issue. I did install add away
For clarification. I installed and successfully ran towellroot. Installed xposed and then the xposed framework. Installed wanam xposed. Changed a few things in the notification bar like battery. Put symbols back into keyboard.
Strange it worked for a few days just perfectly fine... now it does not work.
That's all I've done.

That sounds hilarious, sorry. As far as I saw, the only options for talking were in the extended options of language and input in settings. I'll dig around and see if I can find something. I'll definitely want it disabled myself.
I noticed this today at the worst possible time in a middle of a meeting. Can't find an option to turn it off.
Went through there as well ,unless I'm not checking something correctly... could you check your calculator app and tell me if your having the same problem?

Did you give any app pemissions in accessibility. If you did read this image i attached. When you give some apps permission Samsung has some issues sometimes with the voice kicking on but Samsung actually had a work around built right into the phone.
Have recreated your problem just do the work around which the phone does for you.

This is how I shut off mine. Under Accessibility if you have anything under Services, turn them off. I had Greenify on and it made my calculator talk, but once I shut it off, calculator stopped talking. Hope it helps.
Found this page with people having same issue. Seems like tmobile and att is the pattern. Tmobile here. Greenify not installed. Double checked all my settings too.

You have to click on the settings button thats below whatever app you would have given permission look at my pic i posted you will see the settings listed at the bottom but since you say you didn't do that then there is no workaround. Did you turn on a app you didn't necessarily had to do it in accessibility some apps will just do it automatically. Can you tell me what apps you may have installed that help with battery or after market lockscreen just anything you can think of

NOTE 4
On my phone, it was caused by activating Greenify in the accessibility settings. When I did that, I got a popup telling me that my default language didn't match TTS. It offered me options of canceling, going to settings, or enabling TalkBack. So, for some reason, activating Greenify activates TalkBack. Voila. Talking calculator.

Its not app related since even in the main system menu it doesn't work. I went back to stock image and nothing. I've read that doing a factory reset OEM lock will fix it.

There is only a couple or cables that need disconnecting when swapping out the middle plate. So no, because it doesn't seem necessary. The cables are battery and wireless charging related...and since I'm powered on I assume its fine.
