depends on your needs and finances.

Xperia Tipo or Xperia Sola ?
xiaomi m2S lol
Depends on finance.
If you've enough money, you can buy a top-end device such as Galaxy S3, S4, Note II, Note III... Xperia Z, ZL, ZR,...
If you've less money, you can buy a device with lower price such as Xperia U, J, P,... Galaxy S3 mini, S4 mini, SII...
Also, I think we shouldn't buy a device like Galaxy Mini 2, Xperia E,... and so on. They're equipped with very old, weak CPUs and GPUs; Therefore, they're not compatible with new operating systems and applications. They're only for people who start changing from using features phone to smartphone.

I saw these gears very cheap, like £20 in Cex, so I bought two on the off chance. Can I make then work with a stock Nexus 4 running Kitkat or another Cyanogen firmware?
If there is a thread, I've missed please point me at it.
Mine works with stock S4, jb

To be exact, a G3 of 32gb and 3 gb would be 339 and a zenphone 2 349

Only thing I don't like in Nexus 6 is the size and camera

It is what it is, 6 inch is never small and the camera is OK with sufficient light. Better look for the new 5X. its smaller and has a better camera.

In answer to your question, personally, yes I think the Nexus 6 is still a good option. As a matter of fact, I just bought a Google Motorola Nexus 6 (2014) off Amazon.com last month (December 2015) for $250 + Tax and I love it. I know the camera isn't the best, there's NO fingerprint scanner, and its only 32-bit instead of 64-bit like the Nexus 5x, but for me, the overall performance, the QHD screen, front facing speakers, VoLTE (especially for T-Mobile), stock android with timely android updates and more makes for a really cool phablet. And I mean phablet, this phone is big, but not as big as my previous daily driver the Huawei Ascend Mate 2. Hope my answer helps.

Do keep in mind, my Nexus 6 is rooted running stock rom and I use greenify, so my battery life is good for me, I have the notification LED (have to root and buy an app to get), I use Nova Launcher with double tap to sleep through an app. It's all in what you want in a smartphone and more so, what you don't want. To me, this time around on buying a new smartphone, it was simple, it had to be a Nexus. With my budget, it came down to the Nexus 6 vs Nexus 5x. I feel like I made a good choice especially for the money, but I haven't used the camera while sightseeing yet. It should be fine.

I just bought my Nexus 6 about 3 months ago. It was my first Nexus device, but even after this short anount of time I can say pretty firmly that I will never buy another phone that isn't a Nexus! Stock battery life on Marshmallow has been great compared to the Note 4 that I had before this. In addition, stock, unbloated Android is truly a work of art that you should experience at least one. Also, it is a big phone but you will definitely get used to the size after a few days. I'm not sure if Swappa is available in your country, but I got my Nexus 6 off of Swappa for $220 a few months ago. Worth every penny IMO and renewed my love of Android.

I love stock Android also. Have a S3 and that's all what I want. A stock Android. What is really stopping me from buying a Nexus 6 is the size . If fit in my pockets that will not be a problem. I have a 4,8' phone and I really wanted a big phone!

My 200$ N6 may be.
Only defects are poor grade AMOLED display(not a expression. it's a cheap module.) and finishing.

Yes gear vr works on the note 4 but you need the innovator edition or it won't fit. There is a thread on how to customize the normal vr to work on the n4 but it's fidely

on my A7 i dont know how VR Gear is enabled. i have doen factory reset as well but still cant get rid if it. screen is blank totally. please help.
Xda developers can develop a software so that it might enable vr on samsung a7 2016..can u guyz help us
It is not simply about enabling it or not. VR services require a lot of processing power, in both gpu and cpu.
I don't think the midrange A-line is suited for this kind of task.

It's been there for a while, roughly about a month now - http://www.xperiablog.net/2019/07/03/new-sony-j8010-sphinx-xperia-due-to-launch-imminently/
Leaks/rumors say it's the 5g model for Xperia 1, or a shorter version of the Xperia 1, or perhaps the Xperia 1+/2. We'll find out in IFA anyway.
