Hello XDA Wizards,
I am desperately in need of some help and advice. Let me start by telling you that this is for my housemate and we have been trying for days to repair it with no success.
Basically what has happened is that he installed a custom rom, Viper i think and everything was fine, he then left the country and when he came back to the uk the phone massively messed up. It was restarting every 2-3 mins and i noticed the imei had disappeared.
The phone is,
Tampered
Unlocked
S-ON
HBOOT - 1.57.0000
Radio - 4T.27.3218.14
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS - MISSING!!!
eMMC-boot - 2048MB
I am pretty much a noob to this whole thing so please forgive any stupidity. I have researched and came accorss this thread however i have no idea which RUU i should use if any? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2728428
I have tried installing the latest version on Viper Rom and it boots but after that it restarts ever 2 mins and never properly goes into the OS. It has the latest version of TWRP and ADB sideload works fine.
Is this device bricked or can it be saved, (i dont care so much as im on a NEXUS 5 ) but i would get some serious bro points if i could fix it for him.
Anyway please enlighten me as im out of suggestions for the device.
THANKS YALLLLLL

Hey guys, so this is my first post here on XDA, and being totally honest I am a complete noob who has no idea what technical terms mean. Terms like S-Off and H-Boot are all Greek to me. :/
Ok so I have an Incredible S which came with a custom ICS Rom. But since there's an official rom from HTC Dev I downloaded that, connected my phone to HTC Sync and ran the exe file. Everything went fine, the progress bar went on, but after the setup on my pc said that it was completed the phone just seems to be stuck on the HTC white screen. It was that was for over an hour and I knew something had gone wrong.
The rom that I downloaded was the NAM one.
I know how to get into the bootloader screen (power and volume down) and these are what I see there:
VIVO PVT **** S-OFF RL
HBOOT-6.13.1002
RADIO-3831.19.00.19_M
eMMC-boot

I thought I got a corrupted rom or something so I downloaded the WWE rom from HTC Dev as well, but when I extracted the rar file it's a whole load of folders and files I don't even know how to use, unlike the earlier NAM file which was a simple exe. What worries me more is that I have no idea how to even connect the phone to my USB and get a rom inside the SD card so I could flash it through the bootloader.
I went through so many threads on this forum but like I said, I don't really understand all the techy terms. :/
Many apologies, but I'd really appreciate a walkthrough on how I can get my phone to work again.
Present status with the phone is that it won't get past the HTC logo screen and won't connect to the computer.
Please help!
Thank you!

Hi guys,
a friend just gave me his sensation xl and told me that it only bootloops anymore. Since he knows that I have rooted and modded my SGS1 and Nexus 4 he put all his hope onto me. Though I don't have any experience with HTC I hope that you can help me.
Like I said before the phone only bootloops. Entering the bootloader is no problem, but I can't get any further. Factory reset and recovery result in bootloops, too. Fastboot is possible, but then my PC only detects a device called "android 1.0". Using the driver from the "HTC Sync" software work, but I can't use a RUU file with them to install a stock rom. I can't even use tools to find the CID. They always say "waiting for device"
As far as I know, my friend hasn't modified the phone in any way. The bootloader says this:
*** LOCKED ***
RUNNYMEDE PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-1.23.0006
RADIO-3831.16.00.16_M
eMMC-boot

Is there something I can do to bring the phone back to live?
I really hope you can help me!

So....Hi again.
The last time the RUU worked all fine. But now I got the phone back with the same problem and already tried the RUU file. But after installing it, the phone keeps bootlooping.
Any ideas to solve that problem? I'm allowed to do nearly anything software related with the phone. So even if you tell me to install a custom rom it would help.
Though the owner isn't a power user, I don't think that this problem is caused by him. And I read a lot about this problem. For me it seems to be a problem the phone has generaly.

Hi,
I guess that the battery is broken. One time I bootet to the bootloader and charged the phone nearly a whole day. Then it booted up to android. After this I let the battery run empty and since then I never reached android again. Perhaps the battery is totaly broken now. Though I don't know anybody with the same Smartphone or a compatible battery, I couldn't try another battery. But maybe you have the possibilities to do that?! I wish you luck!

hello!
Dear i was stuck at bootoop but after installing ics europe stuck at htc logo
my phone is super cid and s off
I've never heard of Hboot 1.23, that's wierd. I tought that the minimal version was 1.25.
if ruu fails, unlock your bootloader and install some custom romi i can suggest cm 10.1 by onejay09 it's bugless
While flashing a new rom, something happened and now I'm stuck in bootloop. I can access hboot/fastboot and the computer does recognize the phone when hooked up via usb. I've tried running an RUU, but I got an error message stating I was installing the wrong one. I can't seem to find any RUU's that will download completely. Can anyone please help me save this phone? My wife is going to kill me if I can't get it working. I'm not that familiar with running cmd prompts, so if you could walk me through it, or send me to a youtube video, I would be greatly appreciated.
I was running TWRP 2.6.0, and the issue occured when I tried flashing to 2.6.3 and then tried installing 4.4 kit kat. The more I messed with it, the worse it got. I had backed up the phone and used it several times to reflash it to the back up, but finally, it gave out too. Now I have no recovery and no clue where to begin. I just want this thing back to stock. Here is what I've working with:
M7_WLS PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT - 1.56.0000
OpenDSP-v32.120.274.0909
OS-
eMMC-boot 2048MB

I've tried running the update utility to install the new rom, but it doesn't work. Everything appears to load fine...it says erasing, and then sending...and I get the message that it will take 10 minutes. After about 6 minutes or so, I get an error (155) Unknown Error. "The rom update utility cannot update your Android phone. Please get the correct ROM update utility and try again.
What rom update do I need??

The RUU I tried was...Sprint_HTC_One_m7wls_3_04_651_2_RUU
Now downloading Guru_Reset_M7_Sprint_1.29
Tried every RUU I can find....all get the same error. I'm hoping that because it's even being recognized and starts installing that's a good thing right?
I think it's because there is no OS installed, so there is nothing to upgrade the rom from. Does anyone have any suggestions? I really don't want to send this back to HTC, as I know the warranty will be voided...I've got tampered and unlocked at the top.
Even if I do have to send it in for repair...anyone know how much it might cost? Would it be cheaper to file with insurance? I've got twin babies...and they are always getting into stuff "ahem". Honestly though, I can't even afford the insurance cost to replace it. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Hey guys,
So first sorry for my bad English but I’m from Germany And also I’m a total amateur with Android and roots and all that stuff.
Now back 2 topic.
So I bought my HTC One (M7) almost a year ago. I rooted it, unlocked it and also got S-Off. Yesterday I tried to get it back to stock so I could finally get some OTA-Updates. When I first entered the bootloader (if that’s the name of the white screen) everything seemed normal. But after I left my One got stuck in a Bootloop. I thing I know the cause for that but I will come back to that later.
My big problem is that while I’m in the bootloader my PC cant connect with the One. The device-manager says something like “cant start the device (code 10)”. So I cant use RUUs and the likes to get it back to stock. I tried all kinds of drivers and all USB-Slots I got. Nothings changes.
Another problem is, that my Phone is back to S-On, though I have no clue what I could have done to do that. And that brings me back to the Bootloop. After I wiped all my Data I could start my phone and had no Bootloop, everything worked just fine (though no APPs where left of course). But I got the message I should Install SuperSU. The second I did that I was back in the loop. So I think S-On and SuperSU is not a good combination. But since I cant connect the One via Fastboot I also have no clue how to S-Off it again.
If I just could connect the Phone with my PC via fastboot I would probably be able to get stock back. Does anyone know what the problem might be?
I don’t know if it helps but the bootloader says:
Tampered
Unlocked
M7_UL PVT SHIP S-ON RH
HBOOT-1.54.0000
RADIO-4A.17.3250.14
OpenDSP-v31.120.274.0617
OS-2.24.401.1
eMMC-boot 2048MB
And I also use Windows 8.1
Change computer
Windows 7
from HTC One
Try on other PC. If you get it to connect to fastboot, keep that PC and run the ruu.

Hey all, just created the account after a couple days of browsing and stubling across dead links and information my brain didn't want to understand. I'll cut the story down to the bare essentials, but any help and guideance would be great.
Basically, I got a desire 510 as a temporary phone, needed a screen repair but I already had one on hand from my old dead 510, so I got that all done successfully and went ahead and booted the phone. I was greeted with a boot loop, so thought I would flash a new ROM via TWRP. So I installed TWRP and then found what I assumed to be a UK ROM and installed it. Since then I have had no OS and can't seem to install one at all. This is all on the HBOOT menu. The layout is as follows.
A11_UL PVT SHIP S-ON
HBOOT-3.19.0.0000
RADIO-01.02.012_U10251_39.8.40922
OS-
eMMC-boot 1024MB

Not I'm no expert, but I'm sure there is supposed to be something in the OS section lol.
Basically, I'm looking for as much help as possible to sort this out in the simplest way. I'm not sure if I'll need the recovery image and kernels, but either way, someone who knows more will be able to let me know.
I believe this is a Vodafone device if that makes any difference.
Thanks.
Reinstall the ROM with HTC official software, find one for your region / provider and follow instructions, Good Luck.
You need to re-lock the bootloader tho.
