Is there a way to have WiFi calling turning on automatically if the phone connect to WiFi and have it turn off when the WiFi connection is lost?
I read something in the S5 thread about changing some settings by use of ROM Toolbox, unfortunately it breaks the link to the WiFi calling app. Besides, it didn't seem to work on my m8 hk stock.

All of the WiFi issues I have found seem so to be that the WiFi cant connect properly.
I have the opposite problem in that I am not often near free networks. When I leave my house, I turn the WiFi off on my phone.
So I will be watching something on youtube or updating mail at work and everything will just quit. I check the connection and the WiFi is back on and everything stopped because it is trying to connect to WiFi and not staying on my Sprint data connection.
How do I make it quit? I will be at work where there is a highly secured WiFi connection used by some of the more remote robotic systems. My phone will suddenly pop up and tell me that a WiFi signal has been detected and I will get better service by using that connection.
I only want to use WiFi when I turn it on - not when the phone suddenly decides to turn it on.
Thanks
Roxann
If you're on Sprint then you have an S4 and are in the wrong forum. This forum is for the S4 Active.
Wi-Fi will not work unless I turn off my mobile data. I didn't have an issue with this prior to the update, is there a fix?
It seems to prefer 3G/4G for the initial connection, but it I turn data off, connect to my router, then turn data back on, everything works fine. The Data ON-OFF widget makes that easy.
You don't have the option checked in WiFi settings that says automatically switch between WiFi and cellular do you?

Hello All,
I have a T-Mobile Galaxy Note 4 stock. I am in an area with hundreds of wifi SSIDs and I connect to 2 of them. I have noticed that if I walk away from wifi connectivity it it goes to back to LTE but it will no longer connect back when I am back in range of the wifi..
I look at my wifi settings and see if I can scan for any wifi networks, but i get nothing..
I have to restart the phone or put it in and out of airplane mode to get it to work again..
Any Ideas? I do use wifi calling.
Have you looked at this thread. It's usually where I send people with wifi issues first

I have done a search of the forum and disabled the vowifi carrier check.
My provider ATT is set to provision and it is toggled in phone information
Turned on wifi calling in the dialer and set wifi preferred.
However I am not able to make a call with the phone in airplane mode and wifi turned on.
It will tell me to turn off airplane mode and select a wireless network.
Turning off mobile data with wifi connected I can make a call however. I do not see the wifi calling symbol in either the notification area or the dialer itself. Which would indicate the phone is using standard LTE to make the call.
Anyone have this working.
Hello!
I live in a concrete structure so I get pretty bad cellular reception and rely on wifi calling for calls/texts. I've tried the following method to force wifi calling to use wifi preferred whenever connected to a wifi network and not switch back to cellular preferred but I'm not having any success. Perhaps there's been an update to Android since those instructions came out?
Force Wifi preferred
Any help and/or other methods would be greatly appreciated.
Edit: Something else that could work is setting up a task to turn on airplane mode when connected to my home wifi network and then reconnecting to the wifi network since that would force wifi calling to use "wifi preferred" but I can't figure out how to set it up via Tasker. Tried a few things but it doesn't work. Thanks!
