Hey guys, I know you've probably all seen these kinds of posts, but I'm going to be honest: I've spent about 5 hours looking for good instructions on how to flash a rom like TizenMod 3.0 onto my galaxy Gear, but I can't find anything good...I know the instructions on the page say how to do it, but then it says, "IMPORTANT: Update your gear to the NF1 FW before flash!"....How do I upgrade to NF1? Any help would be appreciated, thank you!!

If you're gear is on android you need to do all of this.
Download both firmware files, and odin files to PC.
NE9 Tizen firmware
http://www.mediafire.com/?c6qzuvuksuxcega
NF1 Tizen firmware
http://www.mediafire.com/?j66d0tzk5b1bwxt
Download*Odin v3.09
https://mega.co.nz/#!UdRRyCAT!H4FyVxYynNWvXqRNmnpMGQRCP-dG3uykgP2pT4rh8Ek
Extract Odin zip-file
Open Odin v3.09
Put watch into download mode. (Hold power button until you see it say rebooting, then tap 5 times.)
Connect phone and wait until you get a blue sign
Add the NE9 firmware file to AP / PDA
Make sure re-partition is NOT ticked
Click the start button, sit back and wait a few minutes
Repeat odin process again with the NF1 firmware.
You're now on the official NF1 tizen release and can proceed with the tizen mod.
Excellent post. I was in same position as OP and was searching aimlessly through vague tutorials and god awful downloads. Thanks for this and the ad free mediafire links as well. Running Tizenmod right now!
one of the best way.

Hello everybody
I have Galaxy Tab 7" GT-P1000 WiFi/3G
Model number:
GT-P1000
Firmware version:

Kernal version:
2.6.32.9

As you see it's the old good froyo, but I think it's time for changing
And that's my question, To WHAT ?
First, you have P1000, that means you have phone functionality. Not only wifi/3G.
Second, there are many posts asking theis questions over and over again...
and usually Priyana answers them with the exact answers. So I'm going to borrow his/her answer:
Go to team overcome and follow their installation instruction "From froyo"
http://www.teamovercome.net/
There you will have a choice "GB-Stock-safe" (Gingerbread stock pre-rooted)) and Overcome Rom (Based on GB2.3.6 pre-rooted).
if you want to try the new ics later on, I suggest install gb-stock-safe and continue install the overcome KERNEL only. Don't install Overcome ROM.
The instruction maybe overwhelming and you may get bootloops if you do a wrongthing. So follow it carefully.
G
Thank You
I know that post of teamovercome forum and still have headache from reading it
It's very complicated so I think it's good idea to stay with the Froyo.
I guess sticking to Froyo will work.... but I think there are more apps available if you are on ICS...

I'm a beginner as you was a long time ago.
By the way, does the Kies can update the firmware to some thing else than Froyo ?
I don't think so

Hey man, you need to decide if you want to do more with your g-tab or not.
BUT words of warning: DON'T jump into the swimming pool if you're afraid getting drowned.
I was exactly like you just last year and of course as everyone else here, I started by simply learn how to root my Tab. With froyo, it is as easy as ONE MOUSE CLICK after you downloaded the correct .exe program on your computer.
Most countries already get GB upgrades via Kies ranging from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6. Some unlucky countries stuck in froyo and that's when they come to xda forum to learn new things.
THANKS
My Tab is already rooted.
What you means by " ranging from 2.3.3 to 2.3.6", the kernal version or the firmware version ?
I upgraded once time only using the Kies but it's still Froyo as you see in my post.
You are right abut the swimming therefore I need to prepare myself good enough to start that process.
the best roms!
try these two masterpieces of dizgustipated:
boca msi
or
blindmooke
just go to the respective rom's thread in this section for instructions.
but first, as the posters before me said, you have to follow the instructions in www.overcome.net. when you get to the part of flashing the rom, use the above-mentioned roms instead of overcome.
happy flashing!
Here, a very easy to follow going to Gingerbread stock, follow carefully:
You can download any official firmware at http://fus.nanzen.se/
1a. Download Fus Check Downloader 2.1 from the above site. Using the Fus Check downloader, download a Firmware for your region. It will automatically decode the .enc2 file to.zip file
(For your case choose GT-P1000)
Extract .zip file to get .md5 or .tar
1b. Download Odin3-v1.85
1c. Download this pitfile from following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=631856&d=1308653969
1d. Download this dbdata from the following link:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=935230&d=1331091172
2. Start Odin - put the .md5/.tar to PDA
Put the pitfile from step 1b to the PIT
Check re-partition. Leave everything else as is.
3. Go to download mode on the G-tab, connect to ur computer
and click start on Odin. It takes about 6 to 7 minutes to do the flashing.Once done flashing it will reboot but mostlikely you still have problems with your tab.
4. Reboot to download mode again. Reset Odin (make sure re-partition unchecked), put dbdata from step 1c to PDA, leave everything else as is. Reconnect your G-Tab to computer, click start on Odin.
5. When Dbdata is successfully put into your G-tab, reboot to recovery mode, do a factory reset wipe, and data cache wipe.
Reboot system, wait for about 5 minutes for the tab to boot up, you should be all set.
Note: as always, you are responsible for your own device. I'm not responsible if anybody break his/her device following the above instruction.
yappoe, Thank You very much
1- Please check the links for the pitfile and the dbdata file -Error 404 Page Not Found
2- Can I choose another country than the one where the Tab was purchased ?
3- In the zip file there is another file called SS_Dl.dll. What about it ?
Gb has better video player and music player 5.1 . Can play sky go too. Theres lots of ways to get it looking like ics. Whilst still on gb.

Try again.
Yes you can download roms for other countries. People like firmwsre for germany or netherland because they are the latest (2.3.6).
disregard the .dll file.
TNX a lot
Hello everyone!
I would like to update my rooted Samsung galaxy ace GT-S5830 from froyo to gingerbread. I found some topics but neither of them explained how to do it safely. Or if some of them did, the link for downloading the necessary files did not work.
Can somebody tell me how to do it step by step, please? Updating through Kies does not work for me.
Thank you for your help in advance.

brother follow these steps
1 go to sammobile
2 select you phone and country in firmware section and download latest firmware
3 switch off your phone
4 go to download mode
5 open odin and flash it
6 when pass option appears in odin disconnect your phone from pc and boot in recovery and do factory reset and wipe cache
you are done buddy
good luck :good::good:
thank you, but for some reason I can not register into sammobile. I tried that with three browsers. Can you download the firmware for the Czech republic (Vodafone)?
Flashing the XAC NF1 firmware and it hangs on zimage and then i have to odin back to the original...
My GG is XAR (US)
Think it is just a bad download? OR am I not waiting long enough (5 minutes on zimage)?
EDIT:
Redownloaded and get the same thing in odin - hangs on zimage Do I have to go from NA6 to NE9 then to NF1?
I'm downloading NE9 XAC now... Why don't we have better mirrors... (FASTER)?
EDIT 2:
NE9 Worked fine. Maybe I'll try NF1 now, although I haven't read anything as far as a changelog between the two.
Same happened with me. I stayed on ne9 and rooted so I could remove camera sounds

Ne9 is a bigger size file and I believe does the conversion from Android to tizen. After installing ne9 you should be able to update to nf1.
SOLVED
Old post but I just went through the same ordeal to be able to install the TizenMod 3 ROM which requires NF1 firmware first.
1. Flash any region NE9, I used V700XXUCNE9 with Odin 3.10
2. Flash any region NF1, I used V700XXUCNF1 with Odin 3.10
Can someone please direct me to a mirror link so i can pull down the firmware and unbick my watch?

I do not have any mirrors or download sites other than directly from www.sammobile.com - I get them all from there
hopefully someone else will respond with mirrors for you
Good luck,
Can someone point me to the right thread to return to stock with stock recovery?
I have NULL_23 right now and would like to try out a tizen based OS
im in the same boat, cannot get to a download mode to reflash stock with Odin after having null 23 and twrp on my gear
i downloaded the stock verwion then flashed it with odin then downloaded keis 3 and it updated to tizen from stock for me. glad i did as tizen is way better than null imo as its a watch so you dont need anything to fancy null is great btw but i prefer tizen 4 sure

What version stock did you download. I tried the UK and it almost bricked my device. I am trying Cellular South next. I read that it's a US company because I can't find US or Canada on any sites. Only tons of other countries.

Hi Mate,
I did get stuck on the boot screen but this is what i did.
1. Download this UK version (BTU), (I have uploaded the one I used and added it to dropbox for you as it was a real pain to get, I apologize ADMIN if this is not allowed but I just want to help) https://www.dropbox.com/s/lejcpo7mp3ayxvp/BTU-V700XXUAMK7-20131115153259 stock rom.zip?dl=0
then unrar it to get the MD5 file
2. I used odin 3.09 the leave ticked auto reboot and f. reset time. add the MD5 file to AP. then flash..
3. When my watch rebooted it got stuck on the samsung boot screen so I held down the power button and then when it said rebooting I pressed the button 5 times to assess recovery.
4. select recovery, the phone will then recovery itself into the stock firmware.
5. open keis 3 and follow instructions there and keis will update the watch to tizen automatically.
I hope this helps you, if i can help in anyway just shout , im by no means an expert tho lol.
Matt.
WORKED!
Worked. Thank you.
I tried to update using Kies and it just hangs after downloading the firmware update.
Then I'm having trouble downloading the ROM from Rapid Gator. which seems to be where everyone has it uploaded to. So, does anyone have a download from somewhere else? I'm looking for the XAR or US version. pl0x & thanx

Not sure what exactly you are looking for, but heres my gear folder, browse around. Also, grab odin while you are there, allows you to flash non official and tar.md5 extensions. Kies is good for official releases or country based, otherwise odin. Just run as admin. Flash ne9 then nf1 as nf1 isnt the full build, have to go ne9 to nf1. If you are going to flash skins mod its the same order, ne9, nf1, skins.
