[Q] Using HTC one 802W version in Canada

Hello guys
I just bought HTC one 802W dual SIM version (China Unicom) from China, and i am gonna bring it back to Canada for using it with Rogers.
Anyone who is currently using this specific model in the US or Canada? I am planning to dual sim my China Unicom Card and Rogers SIM card, would it work?
My last dual sim phone was Samsung Galaxy Note 2 7102, which didn't work for any North American mobile carrier SIM card, so i am skeptical about this phone as well.
Please advise!

I just bought the European version of the HTC one dual SIM. It's the Russian one. The dual SIM feature works awesome. As far as networks, so far it has worked for me on bell telus rogers and fido. My only issue is that Ian with fido and I can't pick up a 3g signal from them in my area. I managed to do that with telus and bell. I have tried to contact them for help and did my own research but to no avail so far. I love the phone and want to keep it. But I need at least 3g. I would also appreciate if someone would tell me the model number for mine. Because I couldn't find it anywhere..

How to get Samsung galaxy ace GT-S5830 to work on Koodo carrier?

Hi guys my friend had a GT-S5830D phone and the screen cracked. He bought a 5830 on eBay and didn't realize there was a difference between 5830 and 5830D. I read around to see if I can flash it for him and from what I found it sounded like flashing to 5830D would work. I successfully flashed it and now it still only sees the old carriers and not koodo. It's picking up mostly US carriers(I live in Canada by the border). It picks up Rogers wireless but not telus or Koodo or bell.
My friends sim is for Koodo.
Is there a baseband hack or anything I can do to get this to work for him?

Need to know what provider/country you are using it in.
Most likely you need to install the correct CSC pack for your local provider.
Hello Kalm_Traveler,
Thanks for reply, the operator of my phone is KT i guess its Korea Telecom, so as i get from your words, that i need to install international Rom then install CSC which would work on my service provider, im using Vodafone Egypt now, but will this solution break anything on phone other than warranty of course
You don't technically need a different ROM but yes, need to root and flash Vodafone Egypt CSC.
Nothing will break besides warranty because Knox will be 0x1
You can use any Exynos Note 8 ROM if you want because the N950N and N950F are identical hardware
Thank you soo much

Question Is a US sim card required to activate factory unlocked S21 Ultra before using it overseas?

Hello everyone. I am planning to buy S21 Ultra Factory Unlocked in US Samsung store. Will it work directly on carriers in Pakistan or will I have to insert a US sim card first in order to activate it and only then I will be able to take it and use it in Pakistan? Someone had asked a similar question in this link below, although he is from India but can apply to Pakistan as well;
https://r2.community.samsung.com/t5/Galaxy-S/S21-series-from-USA-and-use-in-India/td-p/7397918
This is getting really confusing. 3 people have answered him that a US sim is required for activation even on a factory unlocked phone. Why would a factory unlocked phone require a US sim for activation first? Or is it not the case? Can anyone please help me out. Shall be grateful.

Samsung S20 FE 5G Canada version - Single Sim. Is it possible to make it Dual Sim?

So, I was gifted a brand new Samsung S20 FE 5G - unlocked but they did not know I still need my old sim to run some banking apps (so - need two sims running). The model number of the phone is SM-G781W which is a single sim model for Canada.
One of my network providers has e-Sim support. So, is it possible to flash the dual network firmware on this S20 FE?
Any comments?
Edit:
The sim tray has some 'ridges' in so as to not allow placing a second sim. May be a simple sim tray swap might work?
try looking on eBay for a sim tray. maybe you can flash unlocked US firmware, but don't get your hopes too high.
have Canadian firmware ready if needed.

What if I try the global dual sim version's firmware?
Edit: Thanks for the reply by the way! Appreciate it.
I would try U or U1 firmware (can't remember which is the unlocked one) over the international versions. the B firmware is more likely to have frequency differences.
Any luck with this project? I assume it would be possible, I peered into the SIM/SD slot and think I saw the hardware for the the second SIM above the SD hardware.
Also interested to know if this worked?
I also have the SM-G981W Canadian Variant. I just bought it yesterday, knowing that it had a faulty SIM reader slot that can only be replaced by taking apart the phone and resoldering. My newest phone prior to this one is a Galaxy S8, so I didn't know a lot about eSIM and had assumed I could just use eSIM and assumed very, very wrong.
I'm also wondering if I can flash international firmware to enable eSIM (I have no SIM card manager).

I don`t think You need other firmware. If the software detects esim it will just start to appear.
